Athletico Physical Therapy – Milwaukee Downtown

I went to this place for a shoulder injury. The physical therapist that I had was very good. However, he left for another job.
When he left for another job, I was seen by the manager of the clinic. Rather than see me during the entire session, he saw three patients at a time, and had each patient exercise while he went and saw one of the two other patients.
In addition to seeing three patients, he kept up a steady patter of chat with other people. He didn’t even look in the direction of his actual patients.
The session that used to take one hour was now taking one and a half hours. I left. Places like this are often only interested in sports injuries, which you can tell because of all the sports t-​shirts they have on the wall. Maybe those people see better service.

A very enthusiastic puppy proved disastrous to my rotator cuff. After ignoring the pain and limited mobility for months, I finally went to Accelerated Rehab after a long flight during which I couldn’t lift my right arm to turn on the light over my seat.
After a few sessions I was noticeably improved and today my shoulder is completely healed.
While I was there working on my shoulder I mentioned that I also had some knee and hip pain that I had been ignoring for years. She fixed that, too, and last weekend I ran without pain for the first time in a decade.
You might think you can just look up some exercises online and do them at home. You are wrong. Form is everything and she will make sure that you are doing each exercise the way you are supposed to be doing it before sending you off to do them on your own.
When I get injured again, and it’s just a matter of time for me, I will definitely be headed back.

I am so grateful that I happen to stumble upon this office. Yes, it’s a great atmosphere, cheerful and upbeat office, but more importantly, this practice goes above and beyond for patients. Beth helped me more than any other PT has to date, and she’s even helped me prepare for an upcoming marathon. I’m sorry to leave Milwaukee, as I will miss this practice a great deal.
