Let me say food was good BUT!!! Regardless of the fact that beer and wine is on the menu ITSNOT. It’s a BYOBNEVERHAVE I BEENTO A BYOB restaurant… next we ordered a grilled seafood platter for 2 which included 2 cups of soup, the platter(which included fish, shrimp, scallops and oysters) but wait they no longer serve oysters but for an up charge we can include more seafood… WHATTHE … NO!!! It includes oysters so if your not serving them then you need to say so and automatically give extra seafood or take it off the menu as well as the beer and wine off the menu … The place is very dated and dirty and we could hear the music playing from the kitchen … Service was okay but the waitress just assumed we knew oyster beds where closed so why ask for the oysters… and oyster beds are NOT cLosed … First and last time I will ever go to this place.

The broiled seafood for two was ordered. it came way over cooked. the waitress handled it fine. the manager did not believe us and said scallops are rubbery anyway. The mahi tuna and the shrimp were also over cooked. the manager was extremely unpleasant. making it sound like we have no idea what good food is.

Went there for raw oysters but they were out of them, so ordered the special of the day instead(blackened mahi-mahi), which was good, but the portion was small. And when the entrée arrived was informed that they were also out of the side of gumbo that we ordered, too. The coleslaw and bisque were both just okay, nothing to write home about. Prices seemed a bit high. Service was good though. However, not sure I’ll return.

We recently moved to the area and saw this place right down the road from us. First impression, the interior is decent and the hostess and waitress were very friendly. I ordered the steak while my husband ordered the broiled seafood plate. Steak was mostly fat and you’re better off going to Texas Roadhouse or something if you want steak. Hubby enjoyed the broiled seafood platter but said he didn’t get enough food for the price. All in all, decent and may return.

I love the fact that my seafood is fresh at Nichols and always prepared just right. The service staff always has a great attitude and they want you there with them. Food comes out hot and I have not had anything I did not like. For those that may not like seafood their chicken and steak are both very good. I look forward to going again.

Nothing good to say! Sorry, but we will not be back. very friendly wait staff. the food was not good. the gumbo was flavorless. the crab soup tasted like some white gravy with bits of crab. and my mahi mahi was seasoned OK but overcooked. not worth the money… very disappointed!

Service is good, but the menu is small, which would have been fine except they were out of a lot of things when we were there(ie oysters and crab legs). Food was slightly above average for the area and the inside atmosphere is nice.

The five of us stopped here based on the reviews on Unilocal! The food was great. The service was excellent. The hostess came by to check on us since this was our first visit. We will definitely be back anytime we are in the Pace/Milton area.

The wife and I stopped in for date night, and were very pleased. The food is obviously fresh, well seasoned, and the atmosphere is nice. I’d give it five stars, but our table could have been wiped a little better before we were seated.

Total accident that we stopped here… this place doesn’t jump out from the side of the highway at all… It’s been around around a while, used to be on the water until Hurricane Ivan destroyed their old location back in 2004 so now they moved here for the last 10 years. When you walk in you expect the prices to be much higher based on the nice seating, light fixtures, elegant framed photos, and wood grain accents BUT the pricing is more like Olive Garden! We stopped by on a Sunday evening, which turned out to be a great day to go. They have cups of their deliciously-spicy gumbo for just $ 1AND free dessert of cake for the ladies! And instead of a basket of bread, they brought us an endless supply of the most amazing hush puppies. My expectations were pretty low, boy were they exceeded! I got the ribeye with a salad(nothing out of the norm) and cheese grits. The steak was hands-down one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Cooked to a perfect medium-rare and seasoned so well, no sauce was needed. My only disappointment was that my steak came with grilled Texas toast; I just wish it had been buttered. My wife got the baked oysters. Served on the half-shell and topped with crab stuffing and cheese, they were to-die-for! My usually generous wife, only gave me a single bite as she polished off a half-dozen of those suckers! They were so good, she didn’t share! The biggest surprise was probably our daughter’s kids’ pizza and fries. We were expecting the usual frozen-fare that most restaurants serve to kids. What we got was a handmade pizza and fries. It was awesome!

excellent seafood. I think it rivals the upscale seafood restaurants in Pensacola. Wife loves the grilled fish and they have the best fried mullet and shrimp on the planet! Worth the drive for sure.
