Wow! This was a little surprise bakery I had not known until my daughter and I attended a wedding show. Apron Strings was there with my samples of cupcakes and wedding cake displays. The samples were delicious. A month later, I needed a cake for my daughter’s going away party for the air force. I took a photo of a cake made to look like an air force dress shirt. They decorated it to look exact down to the ribbons on the shirt. They also researched the ribbons to make sure they were the right ones. The cake was more than what I expected. Everyone loved it. The only negative I have to say is the price. It was more than what I would pay for a cake. But, sometime you have to pay the price for a job well done! Looking forward to when they will make my daughters wedding cake.

I was in a pinch to find a baker for my Wedding Cake & with only two weeks notice Apron Strings was able to make it happen. I’m not from the Millville area so there wasn’t any way for me to sample the cake but when I called I was very pleased by the exceptional customer service Tiffany provided, which gave me confidence that I called the right spot. With that said the cake was AMAZING!!! It was not only delicious & moist; it was beautiful too! My guests & photographer were raving & Even asked for doggy bags so they could bring some home! It was a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting– absolutely to die for! So, if your looking for a great bakery, mark my words… ‘Apron Strings is it!’

I was disappointed. I came to get pastries and donuts but found out that they do not make the donuts, they’re delivered. So I decided to get a slice of cake, just because I was there and to «support» the neighborhood bakery. All the cakes looked dry, Except the carrot cake I purchased, i haven’t tried it yet but it does look good. unfortunately, Because there wasn’t much to choose from a few cakes, couple pies, some cookies and a few really bad looking donuts, I won’t be back.

This location has had a difficult time keeping businesses going. The latest to give it a go is Apron Strings, a bakery. Once upon a time, High Street had three bakeries. I commented back then that our little town could not support three bakeries. I was taken to task for that. Yet, within a few years, all three were out of business. Go figure… Apron Strings has gotten some buzz. They are not the traditional doughnut shop with some pastries. They are a cut above that. Each item I have had has been delicious. There was some confusion with some cakes we ordered a month or so ago. To their credit, they straightened it out with only a second visit to the store. Stuff like that always seems to happen to us. I do not eat cake as a matter of course, but it went over well. I will say, people did not rave as they used to about the Lollipop Tree. We have another event coming up that we are using Apron Strings for. I am hopeful this will go without a hitch.

Another place in Millville not to be missed is Apron Strings Dessert Boutique. This is no ordinary run of the mill(!) bakery. Owned by three sisters who create everything based on their grandmother’s recipes, this is homemade at its finest not only pleasing to the eye and palette but the love, you can taste the love!!! We left with a generous dollop of their famous Banana Pudding as well as a healthy serving of the Bangin’ Butterscotch Bread Pudding. Each was enjoyed down to the very last lick. I nearly gave into the Ravishing Red Velvet Cake but somehow restrained myself. Got to save something for the next time. It is such a privilege to be a small part of helping see to fruition a family’s dream. The sister who works the counter is a super sweetie and is a great face for the place! I wish I had asked her name. Thanks to the sisters for making a wonderful day that much better. :)))

Best Lemon Bars I ever had. The crust is crunchy and tasty and the lemon curd is verry lemony without being overly sweet. My mom and stepdad have been going there since they opened. For Christmas they got this amazingly delicious chocolate cake with a whipped white chocolate ganache that I thought was buttercream. I don’t like white chocolate, but I loved this stuff. The cake was dense and chocolaty and moist and just all around delicious. My stepdad swears by the banana pudding and my sister loves the sticky buns. They have a nice variety and everything I have tried has been delicious. Yummy chocolate chip cookies. The prices on everything are very good and beat the prices anywhere I have seen on fresh baked goods. The best thing is the three sisters that run the place. They are about as friendly and helpful as can be. I am visiting from California and they immediately made me feel like a part of the family. Go to Apron Strings and go nuts. You only live once you might as well enjoy it! Just wanted to update: I have been back in Jersey several times since my review of Apron Strings and each time they were my first stop after seeing family. Happy to report that they are still doing great baking and the friendliness and genuine joy they share with their customers is still there.(and those amazing lemon bars. mmmmm)

Wow! What a great bakery. They specialize in custom cakes, but man, you can’t beat what they have in the«take away» case. We tried their banana pudding — just decadent — and their pumpkin cheesecake. Just excellent. Everything is made from scratch, and you can totally tell. Just too good. Everyone there was so pleasant and friendly. We will *definitely* be coming back. A welcome addition to Millville!
