Yummy Ice cream with a variety of flavors. For someone who doesn’t like soft serve I was very happy with all the options. Definitely coming back here often. Oh and I’m not sure when people are stuck behind these long lines, I went here on a Saturday afternoon and there was no wait ;)

Extremely long line with only 3 open windows. I had the pistachio and the caramel salted pretzel something or other. Both were very good but honestly, neither was really worth that long of a wait. Once you get to the window, the server is fantastic; very patient, very helpful, very funny. Oh yeah, the small size is huge.

So many flavors! I love the ice cream here, it’s inexpensive and you get A LOT of it. A kiddie size is enough for an adult. Favorite ice cream spot :)

I love Ice Cream Depot because of the array of flavors they have(my favorite flavor right now is double fudge brownie). The ice cream is cheap and you get sooo much for how little you pay. This is what sets it apart from say, Magnifico’s. The worst part about Ice Cream Depot? Because it is so popular and cheap, there is usually a long line toward the evening hours, specifically on the weekends and summer holidays.

Super long line, but delicious ice cream. Maybe they should have a board set up in the parking lot with the menu! As promised, huge portions. I had the blueberry cheesecake, which was a good blended cream taste, but their salted caramel was the real winner.

The most bang for your buck! They give you so much ice cream for such a good price! They have a ton of flavors which are all so fresh! So many toppings and cones as well. The staff is friendly and they have a good amount of seating. The line gets really long because hey get really busy. The only downside is sometimes they’re kind of slow so you may wait in line for about 40 minutes but honestly I always think it’s worth the wait! Love it so much here!!!

Lines were long and spoons were as flimsy as previous reviewers have said, but as I was forewarned, I didn’t hate it haha Ample outdoor seating is nice if you’re gonna hang around anyway on a gorgeous day Had the salted caramel pretzel in the baby size with crushed snickers as my free topping and I’m more than satisfied, even while sharing lol Bring a friend and a well charged phone and you won’t mind the wait at this hidden-gem-no-longer spot, trust me!

Delightful local ice cream depot. They are very generous in their portions, so make sure you understand how much you are really ordering before you do. Many many many flavors to offer, easy to find/plenty of free parking + seating, and they sell hot dogs too. What’s there not* to love? *They are cash only, and note the early closing on Tuesdays.

The Incompetence of the staff is starting to outweigh the positives. What’s so hard about making a cone with Cookies and Cream on bottom Rocky Road on top and then flipping it into a cup? Why did you pack cookies and cream on bottom and rocky road on top in a cup… then place a cone on top so I could never get the ice cream out? Pretty much the exact opposite of what I asked for. After a 45 minute wait in line what a disappointment. If it was home made Ice Cream maybe It would be worth it. Unfortunately, It’s just Jack and Jill Co. Ice Cream. Knowing this I realize it’s not so much of a deal as I could easily get a box of cones and 2 cartons of ice cream on sale at the store and have ice cream every day this week… prepared the way I like. I think I’m done with this place.

Never had a terrible experience until now… I ordered a ice cream cake(half-sheet) for my Grandma’s birthday about 3 days prior to the pick-up date. I ordered a ice cream cake here before and I was great… until now. When I picked it up, the staff was friendly and gave me the cake at the back door, but the cake was definitely not pleasant. The cake box did not fix the cake itself(picture maybe 4 – 5 inches too big). Also, the writing on the cake looked HORRIBLE! It looked like a child wrote it! I didn’t even fit the cake and about 2⁄3 of the cake was blank. I asked for flowers and even though there were 2 flowers on it, I assumed it will be MORE! The flowers looked like it was from a can of whipped cream! It was not up to par to the one I ordered a couple months back! The outline of the cake was not straight and they didn’t even bother lining the bottom edge! Worst of all, the cake was melting and there was a huge puddle of ice cream on the bottom of the cake box! I paid a good amount of money here and I assumed I would get a better cake! I didn’t have high expectations but this was repulsive! Never ordering a ice cream cake here again!

Really great selection of ice cream, ices and even snacks. Also offer sugar free ice cream and tofutti(soy ice cream). If you bring the little one(s), order the infant size(very small and FREE). Plenty of spots to sit at and enjoy your treat. Friendly staff too.

Yum yum yummer! Such great flavors… the peanut butter vanilla yogurt is to die for… but be warned!!! The small size is massive!!! And also be prepared for a wait when the weather is nice. It’s a small town spot and service is good but they sometimes get overwhelmed. Worth the wait!

Long lines and the spoons are very weak(just like some other reviewers mentioned). But the ice cream is fabulous, the staff very polite and a great bargain. We don’t live nearby, but we cone by when in the area.

Not impressed with The Depot. It’s right by my house, so it’s convenient. I was under the impression that they made their own ice cream, but they don’t. At that rate, I’d rather go to the grocery store and save myself the time of waiting in the enormous line. The service is really slow. Any time I go, even if there are only a few people on line. Takes forever. Not sure what brand if ice cream they use, but I just don’t like it. Whatever I get, seems to be tasteless. Mint chocolate chip was the only flavor I could enjoy. If you’re in town or live nearby, it’s a cute place to sit outside and have ice cream. Tons of parking! Cash only! They also serve food, like hot dogs and such. Never had the food, but I imagine if it takes so long to scoop ice cream, cooking something may have you waiting around for some time.

I scream you scream we all scream for ice cream. Yeah baby! Come and get it right here in Milltown. Nothing like ice cream on a summers day to hit that spot by quenching that sweet toothed inner child that we only come in touch with ever so often if only for a moment or two. Yes, vanilla custard in a sugar cone dipped in chocolate has always been my go to from days gone by to the present. With that said we all must develop a method to finish a cone before it melts. The following is a tried and true formula that I will share for the first time with all my Unilocal friends. The key is always to finish as much as possible before the inevitable drip begins. I suggest the«dive wrap around lick» method. Many have attempted this move only to fail and received sticky fingers or worse the dreaded napkin stuck to cone. Now one may think a simple circumference twirl will accomplish said task. But what about the forgotten peak? Where a milk shake avalanche begins to form slowly while building a downward cool mud slide towards your hands. So drop on the top like a «Hunts Point» pro while moving down the sides towards the top of the cone. Now carefully bite off small pieces of the chocolate dip as you continue to bob and twirl. There will be no time to exchange pleasantries with on lookers, time of consumption will be based on the heat index, obviously the hotter it is the greater the level of enthusiasm that must be adhered to. Once the cone has successfully been descended, you may relax and bring napkin to lips, but only when the cone is clearly accessible. A key tip is never and I repeat NEVER bite off more than you can chew and or swallow, so only order a size you can clearly handle. Medium is typically within comfort zone until Elite status has been achieved(just like Unilocal even though posers will be exposed from time to time). No need to send compliments or gratitude. I only ask of you all to pay it forward.

Mr. C’s & Mr. F throats were dry after eating, drinking, & singing at the Golden Lion, so we headed over to the Milltown Ice Cream Depot to soothing our throats with nice cream. This place serves up big portions at a very reasonable price. We took on the pretty big helping of cream & it made Mr. C’s & Mr. F’s faces very sticky as we were enjoying it. Then, to Mr. F’s surprise, Mr. C got behind Mr. F & delivered a nice serving of his peanut butter RIPPLE from behind Dodge Avenger style. It was the cherry on top of a fabulous evening.

A classic New Jersey ice cream spot! All the usual varieties of ice cream, sundaes, shakes, soft serve, and the like. Portions are huge, and the line is huge-er, on warm summer nights, but it’s worth the wait. Go old school, for the malt shakes. They also serve dog ice cream, so your four-legged friend can come along as well. And they sell locally-gathered honey!

People have irrational attachments to their local independent ice cream parlors. Yes, Milltown ICD has crazy large portions. Yes, they are reasonably priced for what you get. I tried the mango and lemon Italian ices. Neither of the two delivered on a true fruit flavor, which is a shame. Maybe root beer would be better. Perhaps I should have gone with chocolate(but I was steered away from that choice by a woman who used to work there). The kid got a peach ice cream. It had chunks of peaches and wasn’t too icy. But it was gummy, and it too was a bit muted in the flavor department. Even though I enjoyed the outside setting by the train tracks, and it’s clear that this is a beloved institution, the place did little for me or the boy. If you are in the area and looking for a frozen treat, it will surely hit the spot. But this place isn’t worth a drive or any significant detour.
