This is my favorite local spot for breakfast on the weekends. I live about 30 minutes away but it’s well worth the drive. The hash browns are crispy, the biscuits are fluffy, and the bacon is fried to perfection! I also love the atmosphere. It is inside what used to be a train depot(the entrance is actually an old box car.) Plus the mini train that tracks around the entire room is so fun to watch! Last, the service is wonderful! I’ve had a couple of different waitresses and they’ve been everything you look for in a waitress– nice, funny, and check on you enough but not too much. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good breakfast on a Saturday or Sunday.

Wears traveling thru on our way to Nashville stopped for lunch. I ordered a cheddar bacon burger, it was flavorful and juicy absolutely delicious. My husband had a club sandwich and it was as well tasty. The staff is what made the restaurant get 5 star. Our waiter was thinly spread as people had called in. One of the guys running food was super nice and helpful getting us bread and drink refills. If I lived here I’d be back. Worth the stop.

This place is very delicious. I favor their country fried steak the most. They had good sides and appetizers As well. I came here because my nana was in town for a cancer treatment, and I had been here once before and agreed the food was fantastic southern cooking. So we went and we had a lot of time to chat. We ordered our appetizer, and since it took forever, I went against my rule of ordering before I get my appetizer, and I ordered. I figured it would take just as long to get the food, and eventually the appetizer would arrive before the actual dinner. I was dead wrong. We ended up getting our food 20minutes before the appetizer. That’s my only complaint. We were there longer than two hours, though. When we did get our food, it was awesome. Not quite worth a wait that long, but I understand why, but I don’t agree with them on this: The place was packed, but there was only one waitress waiting every table. But anyway, I ate my food, and then we ordered our desert. We got that eventually and it was great too. I got chocolate cake, and it was very good and had tons of chocolate. It was sanitary and needed not a thing fixed. But there was one other thing I didn’t get, and I’m not complaining about it, I just think that it’s a little hilarious. They have an automatic sink that automatically turns on and all that, but the toilet was and old one that could be flushed only by a chain. Old technology and new put together. Ha. I would once again go here, I just hope they get more employees soon. I might know a few people that might want to work there. I might want to in a few years. But now, I’ll just eat there. Please speed up service. And let the waitress come to the table and get the credit card like normal, because if you have to take it up to the guy while others do as well, the cards could get mixed up! But keep making that food, tho! 3 stars.

Whenever we visit millington we make sure we go here with the family. Great food, great staff and we’ve never been rushed. Nice to be able to enjoy family time with a good meal. Cat fish is pretty spicy but everyone enjoyed it!

I’m here for business and looked this place up. It is homey and clean. I got the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, greens and cornbread. The sides were average, not bad but not great. The fried chicken was done perfectly however, crisp and juicy. Not much seasoning but I fixed that. A nice place to come when you want a decent southern meal at a reasonable price.

Great home cookin’ really enjoyed the atmosphere and the history that comes along with eating at this restaurant. BBQ sandwich was great. The spicy coleslaw was a perfect fit to match the BBQ!

Décor is nice, server is friendly, food is fairly tasty but they were out of half of the items we wanted to order! They were even out of plates for our appetizers! On a Saturday night? Absolutely unsatisfactory. We will not be back. Update: The *only* reason this place got anything more than one star is because the waitress tried so hard. I can’t imagine how humiliating it must have been to walk from the kitchen back to our table not once, not twice, but TENTIMES to tell us they were out of whatever we had ordered. When it came time to order dessert, rather than look at the menu, we just asked the waitress what it was they weren’t out of. As expected, the list was short. Never again.

Good homemade southern style food. Our group of ten came for dinner and they provided excellent service. Most of us had bbq but some had fish. All was excellent. I had the pork platter with fried okra and a side of dumplings. Everything was almost as good as my mama’s.

Quick and Friendly service. The food was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. I had the famous fried & crust chicken dinner and I know why it’s a popular dish here. It’s extremely good I’m not from millington and I’m here for training however I’m happy I came here.

I have been here a couple of times when I had a site nearby to inspect. Each time I have come in, the service was wonderful and the food was pretty darn good. I usually don’t try specials in restaurants I don’t frequent, but you should try the specials here. Also, who doesn’t love watching a model train go around on a track suspended from the ceiling?

I went here with some clients at the navy base — their choice because I would have never picked but glad they did. I had the pulled pork salad — the salad was HUGE with lots of veggies and lots of pork. All fresh — pork good and tender. The place is very country vibe. good service and love they have a dessert counter with homemade baked goods. Can’t go wrong there.

Food is good southern cooking. Everything is delicious. Service is a tad slow, but hey who’s surprised given that this is one of those good old southern places. If you want a friendly meal that tastes like your grandmas cooking, come here.

The place is ok. Not the best food, especially for the price. Average food, expensive price.

Oh my word!!! I will never come back here again unless I have to. The food was awful, it’s old, and the only people in there were old people. I do not know how these places make money and stay in business. We all were sick for days afterwards and swore to never go back. I’m sure it was a great place in it’s day but like it’s name it’s old from head to foot. Not only was the food bad but the staff kept forgetting stuff, the entire place looked like it was stuck in the 1960’s or something. Millington is small I know and mostly fast food, but there are some decent places out there I hope because this was not a good experience.

Friendly service and reasonable prices. My fried chicken plate had nice pieces of meat but gave me a stomach ache from how thick in lard it was cooked. Sides were meh. Fried catfish looked good. Kids plates. Boring salads. Cheap drinks. Burgers. I’m not sure what else to say. It was packed and is reputed to be a major institution in town. I guess the way to sum it up is this: if this is your kind of place you almost certainly don’t read Unilocal. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. But if you’re cruising Unilocal looking for healthy/tasty morsels I don’t think this is your place. If your cousin lives around the area though and wants to take you on a visit, don’t sweat it, the food is fine. Just know your limits for deep fryers.

Although the service seems to be hit or miss here my service was excellent, one of the best Ive had in along time. Tried the country fried steak and it was very good. First time there, very good experience. Just visiting in the area but wouldnt hesitate to go back.

My parents and I go to this place when we don’t feel like going out to Bartlett for dinner. The all you can eat catfish is pretty good but there is a few ways you can get the catfish cooked. The Cuban sandwich is really good from which I was surprised being from the south. And yes your service depends on who you get and how busy the restaurant is.

Pretty good. Smoked chicken is awesome. Sundays, after church, the place is always PACKED! Nice family atmosphere. Desserts are so so yummy! But, I’m usually too full to enjoy that! Complaint: What kind of family restaurant doesn’t have a baby changing station?!? Hate that!
