High quality, local and organic ingredients. Ah-mazing food! Cozy atmosphere. A hidden gem. Had the«walnut» wrap, which was like a thanksgiving dinner in a wrap.

I would give these guys 3 stars for the food if it was an average price for what is certainly average food. I just cannot abide a place that serves risotto without the skills requisite to preparing said dish. I was actually molding the lumpy and stiff risotto into Devils Tower a la Close Encounters of the Third Kind. I love the fact that they’re all about local and organic ingredients. I start to care less when the cooks don’t know what to do with them and still charge a premium for great ingredients prepared poorly. On the other hand we had great service from the wait staff. The restaurant was full, but the waitress managed to handle our orders and chat us up a bit about our recent move to the area. They seemed to be all around nice people. I really want to root for this place because the concept is right up my alley. They desperately need to hire someone to teach them how to cook though. Until then, I can only give them two stars for great food, cooked poorly, with a great staff.

Rustic rip off is more like it. Went there for Sunday brunch, what a rip. Showed up when they advertised as opening at 11AM. They were still in the midst of buffet set up which was not concluded until approximately 11:15. The prime rib was not available until nearly 11:30 at which point I did not even bother with. Definitely says unprofessional. Regarding the buffet, there were several items that I would not try due to appearance and leftover feeling. The potatoes were o.k., bacon was overcooked and brittle, sausage was sketch, butternut squash ravioli sauce had raw apples in it(odd), «grilled» veg looked roasted and had burned peas in it. Everything had an allspice undertone which exemplifies the overall experience. Eggs were cooked to order and were passable. Overall it was a lackluster display of randomness… Speaking of lackluster randomness, the music ranged from classical piano to jazz(acceptable) to Bonnie Raitt, Aerosmith and the house beat remix of ‘total eclipse of the heart’. The mix overshot eclectic and reached schizophrenic. Here is the kicker: we got all of this to the tune of $ 18.95 per person. Hoodwinked is the word I would use to describe what happened. I give myself one star for not asking how much the brunch was prior to sitting down. There are several brunch experiences that I would give 5 stars for the same cost. Couple suggestions for the rustic rip: If you are going to charge this kind of money for brunch, feel free to pony up for some decent bacon and cook it properly. And if you call something grilled, please make sure it touches a grill. Also, stick with one genre of music, as in preferably jazz or classical. But most importantly, for almost $ 20 per person, please produce something better than I can cook for myself in my kitchen at home for under $ 5. If you feel like throwing your money out the window, this place is for you.

I wanted to like this place. Really I did. I wanted it badly enough that after a thoroughly mediocre meal I went again another time, hoping for a different experience. That time will be the last. I’m a big believer in the maxim that the bread indicates the meal ahead. On both occasions the bread was a small section of store bought French — not even close to Au Bön Pain quality — sliced extremely thin and ice cold. The salads have been universally mediocre. I’ve tasted four different salad dressings there, none of which rose above the level of fair. A butternut squash soup was tasty but lacking salt and barely lukewarm. The goat cheese stuffed dates were probably the best thing we tasted, though for nine bucks, you expect more than the meager serving with just the barest amount of goat cheese. The most memorable entrees were the pork tenderloin which was overcooked to toughness and the haddock(recommended by the waitress) which arrived swimming in a bath of thick, tasteless glop. As a new resident of Milford, I am eager to patronize local businesses. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this one.

I found this place by typing in «salads» on Unilocal because when it’s summer & hot out, that’s all I really want to eat. For every meal. Every day. & since I’m also a sucker for«locally grown» foods, I needed to check it out. So I went with my mom a few nights ago at about 730PM. They close at 9, but the dining room was pretty full, so we sat on the enclosed porch. Our waitress(also the hostess) was super friendly & attentive, humoring my mom when she asked all about the house white(which, surprisingly & coming from someone who hates white wine, was really quite good). We decided to split a salad(pear salad with the poached apple dressing) to start. There are plenty of salads to choose from on the menu, & they all look so good. The salad was killer. I mean, it didn’t even need to have anything in it or any dressing — the lettuce itself packed tons of flavor & was obviously very fresh. I don’t think I’ve ever had romaine that tasted that good. Everything else in the salad(we ordered a large, which was a perfect size for splitting) was great, too, but man, that lettuce. For an entrée, I had the vegetarian risotto & my mom had the walnut apple encrusted chicken. Both were extremely generous portions(I don’t think I’ve ever seen a chicken breast that big) & extremely delicious. The roasted red peppers in the risotto were a nice addition. The pear salad(or maybe just the dressing) is a pretty sweet-tasting dish, so ordering another sweet dish(walnut apple chicken with maple flavoring) might be a little much, as my mom realized. We were definitely reaching full, but ordered dessert anyway — the chocolate truffle cake. It was a really light slice of cake(not heavy & really thick like chocolate layer cakes can sometimes be), so we were able to eat more than one bite of it. It was very good as well! The entire experience was great. Attentive service, excellent food. I’m sort of kicking myself for not knowing this place existed until now because I definitely would have frequented it many, many times when I lived in the area. Definitely a place to check out! I will be going back for dinner again, as well as to try some of their lunch wraps.

This place is definitely awesome! I have been here two times. The first time, I wasn’t aware that it was owned by the people who ran the Seedling Café. But I had heard all about it, and how great it was! The first time I got some sort of vegetarian wrap, unfortunately I cannot remember anything about it! The next time I came here with two other friends. As I was looking over the menu, I noticed the extensive collection of salads… they all looked extremely delicious, but I did not get one. I ordered one of the wraps… all named after trees, really cute! It was very delectable! It was also very large. They’ve also got a really great selection of local brews. Thumbs up! I will definitely be coming back here, my only complaint are the prices. But hey, if you want to splurge. Service is fairly friendly, but somewhat slow. Even on our empty afternoon lunch… It’s still worth it!
