Our lawn has always looked great with TruGreen. This year, however, we have noticed more crabgrass than usual. I am not sure why that is and have not contacted them about it. The specialist is always friendly and professional and efficient. We had the shrub and tree service last year and could not spend the money on it this year. I had an initial visit and cancelled it after that. I got way too many phone calls throughout the year trying to push it on me. I got tired of explaining we did not want it.

TruGreen finally made it out to my house. Too bad it was several days AFTER I cancelled their services. Then they sent me an invoice for the service. I called and the woman I spoke with couldn’t seem to find any record of my cancellation. I gave her the confirmation number I was given when I cancelled, and she told me she had never heard of them giving confirmation numbers including letters. WTF?! Ultimately she told me not to worry about the invoice, but heads will roll if I get a late payment notice.

Trugreen sold me a tree and shrub service. The technician came out and sprayed the shrubs, but did not spray the trees. He told my wife that he couldn’t spray them because they are fruit trees. Fruit trees are the only trees I have on my property. I called the customer service number, and there was a message left for the tech to call me… the technician did not called me. I called again today to speak with a supervisor… no supervisor available. Can you believe that!!! I have canceled the entire service after just one visit. I spent $ 295 and after just one visit there was only $ 150 to be credited back to my credit card. That’s insane. One visit ate up half of the amount that was to cover the rest of the year! You will be better off if you buy lawn food that you dispense through your garden hose. Don’t mess with these guys… you will loose time and money. Buyer be ware.

They won’t leave you alone once you’ve canceled service — even after putting it in writing per the contract. Lots of hard sell telemarketing calls to get you to sign back up, even after asking repeatedly to be placed on their do not call list and writing letters. Calls to TruGreen got me transferred all over the country with no results. I finally filed a complaint today with the FCC and the BBB after getting an automated call saying we were scheduled for service on Tuesday. They get one star because the guys that came out to do the applications were great all the way around.
