Hard to believe this was only my second visit to ANY Cracker Barrel, but it’s true! This one was no different from the first. To the negative: long lines, slow service, bathrooms that smell like pee, sticky floors. To the positive: great prices, tasty home-cooked dinner and lots and lots to browse in the country store. None of it is anything you need, but all of it is something you’d want. Other observations: lots of elderly clientele, respectable portion size. This dinner was better than the breakfast I had on my first visit. 3.5 stars

The food is always good, always! The wait is usually long as well. But, I have only been during busy meal times. Love me some Mamma’s pancake breakfast!

I keep forgetting to not order coffee from places like this. usually very weak and horrible. This place was no exception. I’m wondering if it was just the time of day or what but ugh. Nothing special. Not impressed. I really should have just not said anything at all. But oh well. Oh. really fun little retail section full of unique items. It was crazy loud in there. I get it it’s a family place. I had to yell to talk to my meal companion. Can’t see myself returning. I went because I was told that it was a nice atmosphere. I don’t know maybe it was the location? Didn’t like it.

The only reason I didn’t rate 5 stars is because of slightly sporadic service. It was okay, but my empty glass of water sat on the table for about ten minutes before our server thought I needed more… I couldn’t get her attention very often, but she was constantly at the tables to our left and right. Now to the food. As always, so perfect. I usually order off the breakfast menu but decided to branch out and try the fried catfish sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese, coleslaw, and mixed veggies. The girl I babysit ordered fried shrimp with Mac and cheese from the kids menu and she devoured it! Very happy customers.(Tip: always ask for apple butter with your biscuits. Too good.)

Good service, was not above and beyond what expected. Food was prepared correctly and tasted great. The speed of service was great. Great atmosphere and good employees. Felt welcome and appreciated.

Great dinner with mom. Tried the lighter menu with the grilled chicken breast, broccoli and baked sweet potato. We arrived around 6 on a Friday and walked right in. I thanked our waitress for letting us know that this item is cooked to order to set our wait expectations. Great job CB

The new general manger sucks. This used to be a really good restaurant. Between the slow service, not enough wait staff. The burnt burgers, runny eggs, sweet tea that is no longer sweet. I used to go here all the time but the quality has dropped.

I love their pancakes! I always get the Grandma’s sampler which isn’t on the menu! Comes with 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, a choice of country or sugared ham, a slice of bacon, and a sausage patty. And a side. I usually get pain hash browns. Not a big fan of their hash brown casserole. Never had a problem with their service at any location! Always a friendly and welcoming environment.

We used to love going to this Cracker Barrel since we lived in the apartments less than half a mile away. But we kept having food that we thought was sub par. Even when I asked for crispy bacon it would come out barely cooked and flimsy. It seemed to always be hit or miss and then more and more misses. The last time we went we agreed we would not go back. The waitress mentioned to us that after working there for as long as she has she wouldn’t eat anything that came out of «that» kitchen. This caught us by surprise. When I first ordered and asked for crispy bacon she said she couldn’t guarantee that it would come out that way because she doesn’t cook it but she would write it down and if it didn’t come out right I could talk to the cook about how he couldn’t read the ticket. This was not someone I would want working in my establishment as she didn’t seem to have any confidence in where she worked and obviously seemed disgruntled. We have stopped going here altogether and have started going to The Egg & I down the road for anytime we eat out for breakfast.

It’s very difficult to understand that C. B. Would not have biscuits ready at 8 am on Saturday morning. That’s the second time at this restaurant. The bloom is off the rose!

Food was alright. Service was okay, but after the server dropped the check off as soon as we got our food, she disappeared. Didn’t see her after that. Didn’t check on how are food was or if we needed boxes.

Service was not good. The waitress was mad with the drink orders and then bought out food that was not cold and I had to send it back. By the time my food came out, my wife was done eating. I will not go back to Cracker Barrel To eat again. My wife wanted to go there, not me. I love the store though because of the old fashioned candy!

Good breakfasts. Home style cooking. Waitresses very attentive. Love the gift shop you can browse while waiting if you have to wait for a table.

I will always have a special place in my heart for Cracker Barrel — for a national chain, their take on homestyle cooking is consistently high quality with friendly service. I recently wrote a review for another location in NC which details my love affair with Cracker Barrel, so I will keep this review focused on this specific location. For me, the two big draws to a local Cracker Barrel are 1) high quality breakfast and 2) daily dinner specials. On #1, the quality here has fallen off a bit since this location initially opened. One of my favorite sides, Hashbrown Casserole, has come out really dry and crusty the last two times that I have ordered it, and the most recent attempt was actually more onion than potato. Fail. The pancakes here are usually very good, and are not your traditional pancake — its more of a griddlecake with crispy edges. If I’m being totally honest, The Egg & I has taken over as my «Go To» place for breakfast these days… but I digress. For #2, that is actually my biggest complaint with this location, and one that I seem to rant about at least once or twice a month. My absolute favorite thing on the entire Cracker Barrel menu is the Wednesday night special, Broccoli Cheddar Chicken. If you are unfamiliar with the nightly specials, you should try them all — they are all really good, with the BCC taking pole position for my taste buds, just be aware that the mid-week fare is only available starting at 4 p.m. There have been multiple occasions where my beloved BCC has sold out before I could procure my favorite entrée. Fail again. Now that I think about it, I’d probably say that it has actually been sold out MORE times than they actually had it. So irritating. Now I know what you are thinking; he’s probably going too late. Wrong. All of my visits have occurred between the hours of 5:30 and 8 p.m. with mostly no success. How they can manage to sell out of their nightly special with at LEAST two hours left in their dinner service is beyond me. So frustrating. Particularly when the only reason you go is for the special. Ugh. And this happens all the time. I’ve complained to the management on three separate occasions about this to no avail. Each time I get the standard«Well, given that it is a nightly special, we never want to make too much and we never know how it’s going to sell.» If this is the case, their Food Manager is the worst I’ve ever seen. Given that each item is tracked as it’s sold, they know exactly how much they sell on a given night, as well as what general time they sell out. I’m getting all riled up just thinking about it again. So disappointing. Once or twice, sure. But once it becomes a recurring problem, someone needs to address the issue, whatever it is. I’ll still give this location 3 Stars since breakfast is still good(just no longer my favorite) and the other daily specials are great(try the Saturday Chicken & Rice), assuming that you can actually get them. But someone has to do something about the issue with BCC, or I am going to stop trying altogether.

I love Cracker Barrel! The food is always great here! And the best part is that you get great food for a great price! Its great that they serve breakfast all day long. Their lunch is great as well. I recently went here this past Sunday, and I got their Homestyle Chicken dish, which is two boneless chicken breasts hand-dipped in fresh buttermilk, breaded and deep-fried to a golden brown. Served with choice of two vegetables. It was delicious. If I go here for breakfast, I usually get the Sunrise Sampler, which is two eggs cooked to order with Grits, Sawmill Gravy and Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits along with real Butter and the best Preserves, Jam n’ Apple Butter available. Served with Fried Apples, Hashbrown Casserole and a sampling of Smoked Sausage, Country Ham and Thick-Sliced Bacon. Whether you decide to get breakfast or lunch/dinner, you can’t go wrong either way! There’s also a mini store at this place. Things you can buy here are food and candy, personal care items, music, movies, books, apparel & accessories, etc. Cracker Barrel is a great place to go to that has a Southern theme to it! Highly recommended!

If you’re looking for a big American breakfast and variations on that theme, this is the place. Place has healthier fare but more so comfort food. I did pancakes(fried like mom’s not griddled) eggs and bacon. Yeah blew the healthy eating out of the water but it filled the belly and made me happy. Service was quick and the waitress was attentive and friendly(finding a trend in the South). She got all the food for a party of 10 right and smiled through it all. SHEEARNEDHERTIP :-) Never being in. Cracker Barrel before I was surprised by the quaint old time store with items fondly remembered from a childhood 40 or 50 years ago… The store was cute and helped to pass the time while waiting for our table. If I’m in the South again I’ll be tempted to visit here again

The servers are always so pleasant. Funny to see the calories on the menu. The hash brown casserole is worth every last calorie!

Cracker Barrel Hull Street Review Chesterfield, VA So I’m heading out for a photo shoot and passed Cracker Barrel on the way, and my immediate thought was, «holy cow, gotta go there and get me my favorite, country fried steak!». Now I don’t eat much red meat anymore as I’ve been on a tremendous diet for the last 7 months or so, and it’s been over a year since I last ate at a Cracker Barrel, but thought, what the heck, why not, it’s a long weekend and I’m in a great mood so lets go there for dinner. Came back around 7:30 pm, pulled up into the parking lot, parking area very nice, lots of people sitting out front in rocking chairs, seems to be a very nice place to eat! Wandered in, was kind of crowded, and three ladies immediately asked me «how many» and of course, I said, «three, well really only one but I AM losing weight!». Got them laughing. Took me to a nice seat and was very noticeably clean in that restaurant! Sometimes I’m not all that happy with Cracker Barrels when they are busy because their staff is so busy it’s hard to keep the place clean, but obviously here they are paying attention to their primary issues and keeping the place clean and trouble-free! Not a long wait to order, maybe all of three minutes after I sat down. Silverware is very clean and neat. Lori, the beautiful waitress, came by and took my order right away. Wait staff is very professional, nice and friendly. Ordered Iced Tea, and oh boy, the Iced tea is fabulous. I mean perfect, like my mom used to make a hundred years ago or so! I ordered my favorite, country fried steak, black eyed peas, corn and fried okra. Finished my first glass of tea in 2 minutes as I was tremendously thirsty from riding all day in the car with the top down, and waitress immediately refilled! I mean in less than a minute after I put the empty glass down she came by with another glass! One of the wait staff came to the table with my order. Got butter beans instead of peas, mixed with ham, and OMG they are fabulous! They were out of the peas… Lima beans. Lori came by to tell me they had run out of Black Eyed Peas, and I told her, «OMG these beans are so good I could skip the entire dinner and just eat a large bowl of them!». However, if I had, I’d still be floating off the bed! LOL… Country fried steak is fantastic, and I don’t eat much meat anymore but had to this time. Now I’m stuffed! Oh man, the corn was excellent. The okra, superb. Best Cracker Barrel I’ve been to! Manager is Michael, very nice young man, and I showed him a copy of my review before posting it here just so he would know how much I liked their restaurant! I give them a rating of 10 out of 10!!!
