I had a great experience at this shop. I needed some air in my tires and a few other things so I could get on the road and ride my bike. Scott was extremely helpful. The service was quick and I was on the road in no time. This is definitely my go-to shop for when I’m in the area.

I called ahead of coming in to see if they had a cruiser in stock that I had my eyes on, and not only did they have it, but they unboxed it and built it for me to try out– so nice!(Thanks, Dave!) What really impressed me(beyond their clean/well laid out showroom) was their knowledge of their product. Ex: I was a bit unprepared(no bike rack) so when we crammed the bike into the back of our SUV, I bent the gear shield so slightly that my eye couldn’t catch it. The bend created a clanging noise when I peddled. I called them up right away to ask for advice and they had a hunch that it was the shield, explained how I could fix it, and offered for me to bring it back if I couldn’t. I was able to fix it and ride happily around the block with no noise! Wasn’t a major issue, but I was impressed with how they helped me. Nice place!

My wife and I visited this store in May 2016 to purchase an entry-level commuter bike. Outside of me being a kid, I have never ridden a bicycle. Dave and the rest of the staff at the shop were patient with me and my seemingly silly questions(seriously, I know next to nothing about new bike technology), didn’t try to oversell me into a bike that would be outside of my price range and got me into a bike that I love at a very reasonable price. When I say these guys are patient and will answer any question you have, I’m not kidding. If you walk in and ask«What’s a bicycle?», I’m pretty sure Dave would sit you down on their couch and explain to you exactly what a bicycle is, and how it works, without making you feel stupid. After I decided on my bike, they made sure that I was fitted perfectly, installed the accessories that I bought on it, and performed a basic tune up to make sure everything was running perfectly. Then they ran through the basic operations and made sure that I understood how to work the brakes, gear shifting, taking off the quick-release wheels, and stuff like that. I would definitely recommend going to this shop if you’re in the market for a bike. I drove from NYC just to shop here and was not disappointed.

My wife and I went bike shopping over a year ago and stopped in a few places. This location by far the best in price, service and customer interaction. The two main guys there(don’t recall their names) showed us so much about bikes and fitted us with the bikes that were right for us. We’ve been back several times for other items, routine service and tuning, etc and every visit is like the first. They genuinely look happy to see us when we walk in every time. Wouldn’t buy from anywhere else

I would give this place 1 star and that’s for the awesome employee who put air in our daughter’s bike! We walked in with a Toys r us bike that my daughter is just not ready to give up. We thought we needed new tubing in tires but turns out just air. In any case from the moment we walked in owner was either annoyed we weren’t buying a bike or stereotyping us for not having a super expensive kids bike. Was extremely rude and unfriendly. Just bad business sense because in the next month or so we are going to be purchasing serious bikes for our 2 kids and now he will not be getting our business. I will go to Fair Haven bikes where the owner knows how to treat human beings!

Over the past year I have had many very good experiences with the Trek Store in Middletown. I have purchased new bikes from them, and have also had bikes serviced by them. The team at the store is an eager, friendly bunch of cycling enthusiasts who take the time to speak with you and go over in great detail all the important aspects of your new purchase or repair. They offer a level of service and expertise that I have not experienced at any other local bike shop in New Jersey. The physical store itself is also excellent, with a huge selection of bikes on display, and a very modern, spacious, hip, and new feel. There is even a lounge area… Very nice. The store has a dedicated, modern bike fitting area, and the workshop area, which is always a great way to measure any bike shop, is always immaculate and well organized. The store offers great-personalized attention, and, from my own experience, one piece of advice I would offer first time customers is to be patient if you show up while the store is busy and you are not addressed immediately. The staff will provide you focused attention, but you may have to wait a few minutes while they help a customer they are already assisting. In all, I highly recommend the Trek Store.
