1st off the food was gross. I had a salad that was not fresh, everything in it was brown, and just yuck. My father had the garlic fries or just fries. With the amount of garlic on it I don’t think they counted as garlic fries. Along with the garlic fries he ordered a coffee. The coffee came in a normal soda cup doubled up with a lid and a straw. My father took a small sip of the coffee and it was so hot his mouth instantly blistered. He wasn’t able to eat any of the rest of his food because his mouth hurt so bad. Not that he honestly wanted too eat it anyway. 2nd the young lady that they had working in the front was incredibly rude. We were the only ones in line and had to wait 5 minutes before we could order while she talked to her boyfriend. While we ate our food her and her boyfriend or guy friend whatever the heck he was talked super loud the entire time. So loud that we could hardly have our on conversation. This is a place I would never return to.

Love the soft serve ice cream and the sweet potato fries. Great food, fast service, very reasonable prices and nice and cool indoor seating area as well as nice outdoor space for warmer weather!!!

I wasn’t expecting much but we wanted to support the local businesses here after the huge fire, so we stopped by as we were driving through from the Bay Area. We were pleasantly surprised by their hot dog. Yum! Cut lengthwise and then grilled, served on a toasted roll with tomatoes, onions, and relish. This is almost exactly how I make it at home. That cutting it lengthwise makes a big difference and I so rarely see it done at food places. 5 stars for the hot dog! We also had the«lemonade» that another Unilocaler raved about. I use the term lemonade loosely. I was expecting fresh squeezed juice but it was just«lemonade» out of a fountain machine. Bleh. Also had their banana ice cream, or frozen yogurt or whatever it is. I thought it was pretty nasty because the only«banana» taste seemed like it was from one of those McCormicks imitation banana extract bottles that you find at the supermarket. I’ve always hated that stuff, but DH didn’t mind it. Will be back next time we’re driving through but will stick to food products next time.

Ignore the dead flies on the tables and window sills. The food is decent. Coming from Sonoma county, I was expecting a lot worse. The garlic fries were garlicky. The tater tots decent. The bread looked like someone sat on it.

Stopped by for a quick bite after soaking at the hot springs. We were both craving a good greasy burger and we were not disappointed! The place has a good local charm. You order outside but they have around 5 tables in a small indoor area. The burger patties were nice and thin. Ordered a classic and a double cheeseburger with bacon. Had the garlic fries which were amazing with good garlic chunks and enough Parmesan to cover as many fries as possible. Service was super friendly.

A couple of weeks ago, hubs and I took a spontaneous day trip to Calistoga from the back roads of Williams. As we were driving down the Hwy 29, we drove past this place and made a u turn to check this place out. We love a good olé fashion«no frills» burger stand. Ordering can be a wee confusing, you have two options. You can order at the outside window or go inside and order at the counter. There is a small indoor dining area and small outdoor covered patio. The menu is pretty diverse. We ordered 2 classic burgers $ 3.40 a piece, 1 order of tater tots $ 2.10, and home made lemonades. The lemonade was soooo good. The burgers were clean and good tasting. The tater tots were golden and crispy. One serving size is pretty large. The staff working there were great. They were churning out the orders, cleaning the tables… just plain hard working sweethearts. However, be forewarned the A/C is weak. We devoured our food and left happy and content. Plus in the land of high priced spas/wineries/blah blah… it’s nice to have a place like this serving good olé fashion food at reasonable prices.

I got a plain bacon cheese burger, when I got it it had everything on it and some kind of sauce. I asked them to fix it and instead of a new bun I got the same one with the unknown sauce still covering it and a bunch of chopped onions and even some lettuce something gave me an allergic reaction as well. overall I’m very disappointed I paid 9 bucks for that meal and only enjoyed the fries

A sweet little pit-stop treat. Quick and friendly service, clean and simple facility, tasty and generous portions. My friend and I wanted french fries on our road trip, and inquiring in Middleton, were directed to Jolly Kone. My friend got the chicken tenders, which he devoured. They looked pretty big to me. More like chicken filets. And we shared the garlic fries. I was tempted to get my own order of sweet potato fries but am glad I didn’t. We couldn’t finish the garlic fries and they were very garlicky with parmesan. I’ll be back for the sweet potato fries though!

found this little gem on the road back from Clear Lake. There was only 1 Unilocal photo and only a few reviews. We had been talking about stopping for ice cream and this was the ticket. Okay so we also split a hot dog and sweet potato fries. We asked if the dogs were grilled or boiled and they said they could do it either way. We asked for grilled and it was split in half and grilled. And you should have seen the care of the guy who topped it with everything, it was lie he was working at the French Laundry. He cut the tomatoes to order… swirled the mustard and relish just so… The sweet potato fries were great. and the swirl cone dipped in chocolate was just what we were hankering. A little gem on the side of the road.

What the??? When the heck did this place land in the middle of the town. My family and I went hiking the Table Rock trail and decided to head a little ways more Up Valley to Middletown to say hi to some relatives. well the relatives weren’t home soOo I was Unilocaling and found a couple spots. not so fancy that we wanted to just unwind and eat . Jolly Kone is along the highway and doesn’t look at all anything fancy but man O man, wait until you try their food. We ordered the following Tri-Tip sandwich x2(one w/a side of Coleslaw) Cheapest on the menu. that I was teeter tottering for a couple minutes, because I couldn’t decide on what I wanted. since I’m not really a pork eater(although the pulled pork sandwich sounded really meaty and good at the time), I opted for a tri tip sandwich. since you can’t go wrong with tri tip. Um yea. it was HELLA good. plain, but damn it, it was so friggin good. You can get it w/a side of au jus sauce or bbq. we got the au jus sauce. and was in dipping heaven. The bread was a hoagie type toasted and the tri tip was so tender and good. It comes w/carmelized onions which still had a bit of a crunch and worked well w/the meat and bread. Coleslaw was okay by itself. Honestly, towards the end because I didn’t like it too much by itself, I decided to slather it in w/my sandwich. B O M B. yea that did it for me. Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich The Man got this bad boy. He was pretty quiet once he took it out of the container, so I’m going to assume it was hella good. He didn’t even ask me if I wanted to try it, so I’m going to assume it was hella good. All the fixings, green peppers, onions, melted cheese, hoagie was toasted and the meat look pretty good too. Hot Dog Hot Dog was split down the center. My son only likes ketchup/mustard. The bun was also a hoagie, toasted. Garlic French Fries OMFG — I know it’s only garlic fries, BUT dang they were so good. I ended up not ordering the fries when we got our food, so I ended up having the Man order it w/the ice creams cones. I’m so glad I made him order it, but it would’ve been better w/my sandwich. Fried perfectly, with garlic and they don’t just scoop some garlic and ‘garnish’ on the top middle of the pile of fries. oh no. they go hard. all over the damn place. I mean I had parmesan and garlic and I want to say some truffle oil in every bite. who does that? THEYDO! Yes, get the garlic fries. and I would suggest you get your own. because it was really hard to share them w/the Man and Kid. Would we go back??? Heck yes!!! 2 cones — both swirls of chocolate/vanilla w/the hard chocolate coating

Great job guys! I’ve been in a few times now. The food is consistent, fast and fabulously yummy. The fries and chicken def prepared with nice fresh oil. Way to make an old place step out of the past.

The best stumbled appon little roadside attraction in a long while. The jalapeño corndogs are a miracle. The fair, hot dog on a stick and what up dawg have nothing on this place. Tiny fresh chunks of jalapeño cooked into the turkey meat hidden under a flakey corn meal crust, make a party in your mouth. The rootbeer float washed it all down and made everything right with the world. Not much to look at Jolly Kone is a hidden gem!
