Red Dog Saloon Cafe

USED to be great! Nasty smell, bartenders are VERY slow and can only make the most basic drinks, a big NO! this place used to be awesome, but don’t waste your time now. Gone downhill in a big way. Sad

I have been inspired by a certain stranger to relive my horrible encounter with this place. I came back to the Middletown area to visit friends, and we wanted to have a low key dive bar kinda night. When I go out I always buy way more than I should and tip well, so I figured we might patronize this establishment as you can see it visibly decomposing as you drive by. We walked in (group of women mid-​twenties in age), and I ordered a Jamie and coke. The torn up bartender checked my ID, and she said that she would not serve me because my ID was not real. She accused me of being underage. I had a CT license at the time, and clearly I was 26 years old. I understand that math is a skill that not everyone possesses, but if you’re a bartender how would you ever confuse a real license with a fake, and shouldn’t someone be training her how to read and/​or do basic math? My guess is that she never had a customer with teeth before and was blinded by my pearly whites. Never again.
