A wonderful range of tasteful jewelry. Tom has crafted several beautiful rings for my family, including my sisters wedding and engagement ring. He’s about to start working on mine as well. I’d go no where else, Tom is a wonderful person.

I had lost the diamond out of my engagement ring. My husband and I were out in Middleburg last July and happened to walk into this jewelry shop. I had my ring on my and long story short, Mr. Hays wound up putting in a new diamond and setting. I picked up the ring in October 2011, paid about $ 1000, and went on my way. Fast forward to December 2011. One day I am fiddling with my ring and look done to see the diamond is loose — two of the prongs had broken off. It was right around the holidays when I called. The shop was closed for about a week so I left a message and received no call back. I then called again and did get a call back telling me to bring the ring in and an apology about the whole thing. I do not live very close to Middleburg and work during the week so it is hard for me to get to the shop on a Saturday which is my only option. My husband and I drove out there today, finally. I brought in my ring, Mr. Hays looked at it and told me I had«whacked it good» and he was not responsible for the broken prongs. I was, and still am shocked. I have had my ring for about 7 years and before last spring, never had an issue. Then I lose the diamond… take it to Mr. Hays who puts in a brand new setting, and within 2 months that setting is broken… and he has NO responsibility here? Now, of course he said he would fix it, but for a charge. No. No. Nononononononono NO! I am furious. Not only did he refuse to take responsibility, but he was extremely rude, first with me and then my husband who went in after when I came back to the care in tears. He raised his voice with both of us which was completely unnecessary as we were the customers and were not raiding our own voices. I paid this man $ 1000 to be able to wear a ring for two months. I will never give this store my business again.

Have purchased several high-end items here. the most recent for our 50th wedding anniversary. Have been pleased with the personal and expert service as well as the merchandise. Will likely be returning for other jewels.

Established in 1972, this is another M-berg mainstay. Quite an interesting collection of oddities: among other things, I got a silver(spirits) flask here(engraved of course!) and some time later came back and purchased a most unusual silver football-sized caviar server! The owner, Thomas Hays, is a very«old-school» gentleman and an aesthetician par excellance, — two admirable and highly desirable qualities in the jewelry business! No wonder they’ve been in business almost 40 years!
