I received fast and friendly service from the lady on nights. The room is very clean and neat and impressive.

From check in process, to the tiny room, to the annoying Wifi that we had to keep logging into(20 times a day), to the pool area having a confusing handle that you must push UP on. THEN there were no towels in the pool area and NO sign explaining that you must go to the front counter and ask!(How many minutes would that take an employee, to print up a simple sign?) Guests at the breakfast showed up barefoot, which should NOT have been allowed– for health reasons. My advice– spend $ 100 more, and stay in New Buffalo, MI !

Nice & clean but noisy! Doors closing & children crying and running down hall late & early hours. Unfortunately left denim jacket & rain jacket in closet. Was told that housekeeping didn’t have it. 100% positive that it was there so believe theft is an issue. Won’t ever stay in any Microtel again.

WOW! Could not have been more pleasantly surprised by this little hotel in Michigan City. Michigan City is always a stop whenever I’m driving back to Michigan, but halfway into our drive home for Thanksgiving, we just couldn’t make it the whole way back and decided to check out our hotel options. With my AAA discount, our stay here was only $ 58 for the night. Being the skeptic that I am, I expected the worst upon opening the door to our room. Although the size of a large closet, our king bed room could not have been more perfect. It was perfectly clean, the bed was large and pretty comfy, and the bathroom was decently sized. If I hadn’t fallen asleep the second my head hit the pillow, I could have taken advantage of the free wifi, the plasma tv, or just enjoyed the silence of the room. We just needed a place to rest for the night, so this could not have been more perfect for that purpose. We got a great night’s sleep, and didn’t have to break our wallets in order to do so. Now that I know how great of a place this is, it makes my 10-hour drives home to Michigan a lot less stressful knowing that I can so easily just stop here. Bravo, Microtel. Bravo.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Microtel Inn for 6 days, and let’s just say this was our comfortable home away from home. ROOM: The bedroom has a modern feel to it and it was very clean. We had a 2 queen bedroom. The bed was comfortable, and there is a mirror on the wall above the beds. There is a daybed right in front of the window, but sadly our daybed had stains on it which I wasn’t too keen about sitting/laying on(which is why I took away one star from this review). There is a desk along with a mini refrigerator, a microwave, and coffee maker. A small closet to hang your clothes and a 2 drawers dresser. BATHROOM: The bathroom was very clean. There are soap and a small bottle of shampoo/conditioner. There is no lotion bottle so bring your own lotion! There is also a hair dryer too. ELECTRONICS: There is free WIFI in the building which you don’t need a passcode to access. Pretty simple to connect! I noticed there is an HDMI input on the flat screen TV, if you have a HDMI cable, you can connect your laptop to the TV in case you want to play DVDs from your laptop. Also, the TV has cable(which I’m not used to having cable in my home so it was cool to choose more than 13 channels to watch). LOBBY: Very clean, there is a continential breakfast from the hours of 6:30am — 9:30pm. The breakfast includes: biscuits & gravy(so good!!), make your own waffles, bagels, muffins, toast, fruits, yogurt, boiled eggs, coffee, apple juice and orange juice. Plenty of seats to eat your breakfast along with a big flat screen TV to watch. SERVICE: The staff was super nice. When we first checked in, the front desk attendant asked if we wanted a room on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd floor. That was a bonus because I rarely get asked that and I rather have a room on the 1st floor anyway. Housekeeping is very quick in emptying out trash when I place my filled trash can outside my door. Any every time I walk by a staff member, they always smiling at you and say hello. BONUSES: There is a gym(elliptical, treadmill, and bike) and an indoor swimming pool(open to 10pm). Lots of parking spaces around the building. There is a super Walmart right across the street in case you want to stock up your mini refrigerator or if you forget any necessities at home. A mall outlet mall is nearby and also a variety of food places to choose from for dining out. Also, the hotel is very close by to the freeway too(but not next to the freeway). Out of my hotel experiences, Microtel is a wonderful hotel to stay in especially if you are staying longer than 3 days because you get the feel of being at home with all the amendities the hotel has to offer. I highly recommend Microtel to anyone who is staying in the Michigan City area.

This hotel saved the day for my family after checking into a roach pit a block away! The ONLY reason it didn’t get 5 stars is they were completely out of milk for breakfast. That was a BIG deal to a 3 year old when he had to eat dry cereal. Otherwise it was super clean and enjoyable. Would stay again. Bonus: the window seat in the room was a hit with my child.
