On a Saturday aftenoon we were in the mood for tapas and wine, which Doral doesn’t have too many options of. Thanks to Unilocal we found this place located in a strip mall off NW74st. One glance inside we noticed this place is split, retail liquors and wine tasting/sampling along with tables for tapas. Ok, let’s try it! Not the friendliest welcome upon entering but the one employee was juggling between getting us seated and attending to the retail customers. We told the employee we were here for wine and tapas so he proceeded to explain the deal. There’s about 40 – 50 wines to sample. You buy a card with a chip and you are able to taste 1oz of your selected wine, price all depends on the wine, ranging from a little over $ 1 to almost $ 4 per ounce. We asked about changing glasses and he sais no problem just grab from another table. A $ 40 deposit on the card avoided the $ 5 processing fee for the card, plus a $ 24 meat and cheese platter and we were in. We felt good, grabbing our glass to sample all sorts of wine — Chianti, Malbecs, and Cabs. We felt the need to change glasses for two reasons, we were tasting different wines and didnt want the taste to be affected and second the employee said we could. We settled to pour ourselves 4oz of Gouguenheim Malbec from Mendoza. Great bold taste to accompany the generous prosciutto, chorizo, mortadella and cheese platter. A great time so far and onto our final pour of our $ 40 deposit. Here is where it changed. Out comes the manager to complain he noticed so many used glasses of wine and that there was no need to change glasses. While I respectfully disagreed, he persisted to make it known he has been doing this for over 20 years and different types of wine can be samples using the same glass. I am no expert, I just like wine and different types of wine. I explained in my experience if I am going from extremes, say Chianti to Malbec it is best to change the glass. Plus, what does it matter? Mr Manager, you have at least $ 64 of my money and you’re going to complain about a few used glasses you have to wash? Total mood kill. I left so bothered and annoyed how this person could not see the bigger picture. That I was in there spending money, so far I was having a good and I most likely would have returned AND tell friends how great it was. This guy totally ruined the experience. Talk about a place who was on the verge of getting 4 stars and falling flat because of poor management.

Have visited for years, best place for tapas, wine and cocktails in Doral. Great customer service, live music, jazz. Baby Emporium sandwich is a must! Highly recommend this place!

We bought a bottle of Bailey’s here… turned out to be a bad bottle, all curdled. But when we attempted to return it for another bottle, they would not allow it. They said ‘All sales are final.’ and refused to refund or even REPLACE it! I don’t know who taught these people about customer service. We will not be shopping here again.

This place is a hidden gem. Great wine Selection, their prepaid serving wine by the Glass thus you can try multiple wines. I had visited this place often, they are very helpful with suggestions and Staff is always very friendly.

I attended an event which was held here. They brought out a house Cabarnet Sauvignon which was actually very good. The wine selection to buy is quite nice. However, for wine tasting itself as far as selections were pretty limited. I could not find one single Pinot Grigio which was a disappointment since that’s my favorite. The space is a little cramped and the service was ok. I know they offer tapas style items for food, but we did not order any. Not sure if I’d go back myself but I would recommend it for someone who lived nearby and wanted to try it out.

In Doral, this is the best Liquor store by far. It is classy, elegant and the staff is superb. Always ready to help you make a selection and if you are looking for something special they will order it for you. Don’t be intimidated by the expensie looks of the store. They have the best prices in town. Good selection of wine and you can taste samples of the best selections.

Fantastic wine and liquor selection. Nice pre-paid tasting option: You can purchase a card for incremental amounts and then use it in the tasting machines to sample any of an ever-changing selection of 56 wines for 1– 3 dollars glass. The beer selection is very limited, but that is not, I suppose surprising too much. They do, however, have a very interesting selection of Latin American beers. Very attentive and helpful staff! I’d love to see an increased selection of specialty and microbrewed beers.

On our way to lunch today back to El Trigal, we visited W&SE and were very impressed and surprised. It’s a very nice wine store and they also have all sorts of liquor and mixers. It’s pretty big and extremely well organized and inviting. You can actually sample, for a small fee, a variety of wines for you to choose from before you purchase it. We met Rene and Daniel, who are the owners and they were both very nice and friendly and Rene explained in detail how the sampling works. Too bad it was right before lunch(not that it’s ever stopped me before) and we had to come back to work, so we didn’t have a chance to try any of the wines but we are already making plans to go back with some friends and try them. Like I said before, their variety is pretty big and the prices are not too bad. Not super cheap but not that expensive either. We wish them all the luck as today they had only been open for 50days but looks like they’re doing well.
