We love this place!!! The owner was so nice and friendly to his customers, making visitors like us feel like at home. The cozy ambience just eased away our anxiety. The owner chose three wines for each of us based on our preference. They were all fantastic! We also ordered their Lamb, snail(garlic and olive oil, amazing!), and crème brûlée(house-made, yum!!) Everything worked great together and gave us an unforgettable night. My BF and I had a lot of fun there and want to go back there again. Actually, we want it open just next to us:-)

I’ve been there twice and both times were good experiences. Solid service, good food and of course good wine. Good for a date or to take a wine snob friend.

I hope this place makes it, after surviving the Biscayne Blvd. construction blitz and all. Wine 69 has a great atmosphere for a group needing to invade a space and booze it up. I’ve been there half a dozen times, with a pack of at least 5 people, and we’re the only ones there. They have a big selection of Chilean and Argentinean wines, which is good because Vine is closed and other local shops don’t have them.

We tried Wine 69 on a Friday night. The owner is knowledgable about their large wine selection and eager to please. We took his recommendation of a very nice wine. We ordered the mixed(5 types — your choice of about 10) cheese plate for $ 25 and were treated to some of the most delicous cheeses this side of France. In particular, the Fourme D’Amber, which when tasted, will captivate and delight you(I recently read«Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain who says that chefs smell their fingers for days just for the lingering aroma of Fourme D’Amber). We were recommended two of the Hungarian dessert wines. Which, we felt, were pretty ordinary. Be advised, this place can be quite pricey, as we found out when the bill arrrived $ 150. Quite steep for a shared cheese plate, one bottle of wine and two glasses of hideous dessert wine. In saying that, we loved the wine, the cheese and the ambiance of the place so much we went again the following evening. This night was the night of Cinco de MiMo. We ordered water whilst pondering the menu. The waitron brought water to the table. We then ordered a riesling from their fine selection of rieslings. The waiton brought us a bottle of red to the table. We then reiterated we wanted the German rizzle. She then brought out the correct riesling, which was warm. She then offered it to us warm. We requested that she chill it which she did and brought us a complimentary glass of another whilst we were waiting. The wine arrived about 15 minutes later somewhat cooler, a few ice cubes in each glass cooled it sufficently to provide the crispness a riesling requires but also watered down the lovely taste. We then ordered a smaller cheese plate and a baked brie. We received the cheese plate and this was the moment our service ground to a halt. No napkins, no cutlery, no bread, no wine refills, oh and did I mention no baked brie. After asking for cutlery, napkins and bread, the owner told us they would bring some out, and to excuse this but they were run off their feet. There was the total sum of 10 customers in the restaurant. And, three floor staff. I would hate to see them in rush hour. After waiting for the never arriving items, I ended up helping myself from an adjacent table. 20 minutes later the brie still had not arrived. Eventually it did but with no bread to eat with it. We had to go up to the service area to request bread three times. By the time the bread arrived the brie was cold. When our bill arrived we had been overcharged for the wine. Undoubtably, the cheeses are excellent, and the price worth it. The good news is that even if the service is friendly but almost nonexistent, you can take that wine out for half the price you would pay if dining in the restaurant. We gave it a 5 the first night, a 2 the second night, and we would like some of that the waitron was drinking…
