this was a great used book store! I turned in MANY books, I mean 3 huge bags full and got over $ 200 in store credit. Their books are cheaply priced, 50% the cover price or less, and I was able to get a huge stack of books and still have remaining credit. I stopped by last week to get some more books with my store credit(I had only been there 4 days before) and they were out of business! When I had turned in my books, they didn’t mention anything about closing and there were people purchasing things, so I didn’t suspect anything! So now I have $ 200 in store credit with a book store that closed. Great right? Other than that, the staff was very helpful and friendly.

This is a GREAT used book store. The staff knows the stock very well, and are quite helpful at making recommendations base upon other books that you have liked. The books are all sharply discounted, and a further discount is available if you bring in your already-read books in «trade»(just remember, they are never free). Stop here if you are dining alone and need a paperback to read, and then go over to Off the Grill!

I came here because the other used bookstore where I live in Pinecrest closed down but I’m glad there was another location. I had to trade in some of my books. I only got store credit because they don’t give cash. This is still a good used bookstore, one of the few left in Miami. You can trade in your books and get store credit. They give you 50% of the list price back to you in store credit. The store hours are Monday — Saturday = 10am — 7pm and Sunday = 12pm — 6pm. The phone number is 305−596−5353. Be careful when you’re going there because it’s easy to miss. If you’re coming from the east on 88thST/N Kendall Drive and drive west to get there then you have to turn left at the light on 125thAVE. Overall, this place is clean and there’s tons of books. Unfortunately there was a low selection on popular author Jodi Picoult, one of my favorites. But overall this store is a good place to go when you have books you want to get rid of and get more books to read.

Try this bookstore again if you haven’t been in several years. I’m talking about the West Kendall location at 12558SW Kendall Dr. The new owner who took over some years ago painted the bookshelves bright white and re-organized everything to give the store a cleaner, crisper much less cluttered effect. They still have stacks of books in boxes piled here and there, but isn’t that one of the things we love about used bookstores? The rest of the books are well-organized and well-categorized. The best thing about the store is the staff, who are EXTREMELY helpful and solicitous. You can trade in your old books or get credit for your future purchases. They do have some restrictions about what they’ll accept, so make sure and call ahead(305−596−5353). They have a good selection of mainstream fiction as well as genre fiction(excellent science-fiction section!). They have a separate little nook for children’s books and they also have audiobooks and Spanish language books. For rare books ask at the front register as they are kept behind the desk. After browsing and buying, you can step outside and walk over to Bangkok Bangkok, but that’s another review!
