I’m usually skeptical of places that people rave about since in my experience the reality rarely lives up to the hype. Luckily when I tried it for the first time, it was easy to see how and why Tamiami Subs has earned such a stellar reputation both on Unilocal and via word of mouth.
I’m a sucker for great food and service to match, especially because it seems to be such a rare combination these days. Most of the places that I frequent have either one or the other but it is a true gem when I find a place like Tamiami Subs that offers the best of both worlds. From the moment we walked through the door, the service was on point. The owner and her employees all greeted us with a smile and seemed to anticipate our needs before we even expressed them. My best friend and I told them that we were going to wait for a friend before ordering and they immediately offered us drinks while we waited and paper menus to consider our selections.
Once we were ready to order, the process was quick and efficient. I ordered the chicken bacon ranch with crispy chicken and an order of curly fries with cheese on the side. My best friend ordered the same sub and my cousin ordered their signature sub, garlic steak. The owner personally took our orders and wrote our names correctly on the wrappers so there was no confusion as to which belonged to whom. I definitely appreciated that she spelled my name correctly since most often use a C where the K should be so the owner’s attention to detail did not go unnoticed.
Now to the best part: the food. My crispy chicken bacon ranch was delicious. I am not a big chicken fan but ordered this on the advice of my best friend and it did not disappoint. It had a little kick but not too much, the bacon was super crispy, and all of the flavors came together beautifully. The fries were seasoned well and along with the cheese dip was very tasty. I managed to nab a bite of my cousin’s garlic steak sub before she gobbled it all down and it was party in your mouth kind of good.
I got a small sub and it was more than enough for me as I was just the right kind of full when I left but they also over 2 larger sizes for those with heftier appetites. The location is somewhat inconvenient for me since I don’t live or work too close to the area but based on my first experience, I have no doubt that I will be back and probably soon. Keep in mind that they close at 5 and do not open at all on Sundays but if you are in the area during business hours, this is definitely a stop you won’t regret.

I’ve been coming here for over a year for lunch. I stick to the Italian sub which is great when your in the mood for tasty salty cold cuts. Wednesdays are «double stamp wednesdays» in their rewards programs. Meaning you get 2 stamps for each sub you buy. 10 stamps will get you a free sub so that’s pretty amazing.
The seating is limited but usually that’s not a problem. The place is super clean and fast.

Been coming here for years and they never disappoint. My favorite sub is probably their honey mustard chicken; I order it on wheat and add onions, tomatoes, salt/​pepper, oil/​vinegar and American cheese. I love the variety of iced teas they serve too! They’re curly fries are always amazing and even better when you dip them in cheese. My only wish is that they had more seating — but besides that, I love this place!

Well, what can I say? It didn’t impress me. Fast service but the sandwich was not impressive at all. They give you a big sub although the flavor is missing.

Being from Chicago it’s hard to find a good sub place here in Miami but this place this great. If yu like a bit of spice get the chicken philly with cheese green peppers and jalapeño peppers, yur runny nose will thank yu. The best subs in west Kendall. Friendly staff! Clean restaurant, delicious food! The subs are all great! The curly fries are so yummy. The cookies are freshly made daily. Wish they’d bring back soups. If I could I would eat here every day.

The subs, fries, and service here is top of the line. I definitely love their honey mustard chicken sub and garlic steak sub.
I only wish they were open a hour or two later. My husband often has to rush to get us over to this place after work.

Awesome sub shop. Clean, organized and the food is great. Most importantly the staff here is great. Friendly, patient and quick.

The big bird is my go to sub here always fresh and made fast. The dining room and restrooms are always clean. If you are looking for an awesome sub on the run come to Tamiami Subs!

Quick service with a smile… but kind of wish they had more of a «pop» or a competitive advantage to make them different than every other sub shop.
I ordered the Joe Mama. Make sure to ask for vegetables or you will only get bread and meat (I learned the hard way). The steak was grilled well and tasted great. But again, no toppings were added and I wasn’t asked if I wanted any. My friend asked for a Big Bird and it looked good as well.
Even though they offer curly fries, the place does not «feel» greasy. The place was generally very clean as well.
They do not offer sauces any more, but the girl at the counter was nice enough to get me fresh ground horseradish. Great service.
Again, I wish I was offered additional condiments for my sub but all I got was meat, cheese, onions and bread. I should have started my order saying I wanted extra condiments but wish I would have been asked.

Cruised into Tamiami subs today. The menu is pretty inviting. Lots of grilled options, chicken and steak subs, burgers, salads and wraps. Service was on point & food was brought out rather quickly. I ended up having their «signature» sub, which is there garlic steak sub. Shaved steak (old school steak-​um style), provolone cheese, lettuce tomato and grilled onions. The sauce is tasty. I always gauge my overall satisfaction by knowing if I want more because it tastes so freakin’ good, or if I’m gonna crush it because I’m all sorts of hungry. In this case I didn’t finish my sub. I also gauge my interest by thinking if I would travel to eat at a place this. In my opinion it’s a nice neighborhood sub joint.
The food is good, not awesome. If you are in the area or live in the area, great little spot to kill the steak bomb craving. Service is very good, very attentive staff and food is in your hands relatively quickly. I went during lunch time on a Monday and food was being dispatched quickly.
I’d eat here again.

Great Subs. Very tasty and fresh. I ordered the Honey Mustard chicken and it was amazing. The honey mustard sauce was so good but not overpowering. Chicken was seasoned well and I was able to distinguish between all the different flavors of the entire sub. My wife had the Garlic Steak sub and enjoyed it as well. Their house garlic sauce really makes this sub unique.
They also have 6″ subs and other choices besides just subs.
I will definitely order from here again. They do not take AMEX FYI. And they offer online ordering. Very convenient.
I would have to say this is my new sub spot.

Ordered online for the first time. It was very fast and easy.

Tried this place because wanted to compare from Hungry bear and RC subs. The sub was ok I got the honey mustard chicken. I think it needed more honey mustard. I still love hungry bear the best.
Only thing here sets them apart is that they have a punch card for frequent buyers and CURLY FRIES. I love curly fries and they are pretty good here. Would come back if I want curly fries. Other than that I’d go to hungry bear because it is closer.

I love their online ordering. Convenient when I am at work next door. Try the chicken cordon bleu.
The staff is always very friendly and I always see the same people there. I hope they keep up the good work. I will keep ordering from them.

I’ll keep this review short as there isn’t much to say about Sub Shops. As sub shops go, this is one of my favorites. The place is kept clean, the staff is always pleasant, & they are pretty quick with orders.
The menu has your typical sub shop offerings, the prices are fair, & and they have a hassle free reward program for frequent customers that uses stamp cards. The only real downside I have to say is the amount of seating available. When this place gets busy it can be tough to find an empty spot to sit down.
Overall, good food, friendly service, fair prices & clean. Give it a try.

The only thing that’s bad about this place is the hours! I can only make it on Saturdays. :(However, the food is excellent. It’s my usual Saturday lunch stop.
I usually order the chicken strip dinner or the buffalo chicken sub. Beware! They are huge! Come with an appetite.
Online ordering is the easiest. It includes all the options you can think of to do to a sub.

Literally the first restaurant I’ve tried in West Kendall area. I’m not a huge sandwich shop visitor, but this place was within walking distance of work, so why not. Im glad i gave it a try. The people were nice, gave good recommendations, the food was fresh, and delish.
The drawback, so I hear, from coworkers is that it gets superpacked at noon. You can order online and pickup so that’s a great option :) they take a bit longer, than say. subway, but that’s because everything is cut, prepared, etc at the time of order. Fresh food. Good people. What more to want for the lunch hour?
