My family absolutely loves Skipping Stones! The owner’s teaching philosophy is right in line with ours — small ratio, children learn through creative play and hands on experiences. That, coupled with the following comment she, Heathermarie, made sold me — She wants to help these children become compassionate people. Who can argue with that? We started with summer camp for a few weeks to see how it would go. It went even better than I expected! My little one barely gave me a second glance whenever I left, and this is still true today. It is incredible to see how my toddler is blossoming all around from her experiences there. She’s speaking more clearly and using more words, singing, dancing, playing independently, recognizing letters and numbers and so forth. Not to mention the great art projects she comes home with. They even do yoga! The families attending are pretty cool and I’ve met some really nice parents. Oh, and the teachers speak English and Spanish, and sing some songs in Japanese too! I am so grateful this sort of place exists in Miami.
