Quien comio homeless?

tl;dr: Food-pizza-good. Service-awful/nonexistent/bad customer service. Price-Too expensive for what it is. — Food: I went to this place after trying a free sample of the cheese pizza at the front. Seemed like a great pizza– perfect melting cheese texture, great sauce flavor. The pizza itself was pretty good. The meatball topping was good but don’t order the prosciutto– tasteless. Service: It was the service that wasn’t so great. We ordered two toppings with extra sauce on a large pizza. It came back with one topping on one half, the other topping on the other half, and tomatoes all over the entire pizza. We sent it back because we wanted the toppings all over the pizza and never asked for a tomato topping. This is the part that bothered me– the waitress claimed we ordered the toppings half and half and that we ordered tomatoes instead of owning up to her mistake. We never said that and would never say that for any reason. Both of us hate raw tomatoes. On top of that, we never said the word tomato, even when we asked for extra sauce we simply said«extra sauce.» The weird part is, she wrote down the order, another server came by to clarify what we meant by extra sauce, and somehow she got it wrong. When it came back, the pizza, as I said before, was great. But it took FOREVER to get our drinks refilled and they were only refilled once even when she walked by our table without stopping 5 times and the drinks were clearly empty(the soda drinks are free refills, so perhaps they tell their servers to do this, who knows). It also took forever to get a to go box and to get the check. Mainly because the waitress was nowhere to be found the entire time which is strange since there were many servers around and it wasn’t packed. Price: The thing that bothers me about this place, besides the mandatory homeless tax(and it’s the mandatory part that bothers me), is that the amount for the toppings is crazy. $ 3 for normal and $ 5 for«gourmet». Nothing about these toppings could be considered gourmet. Overall, the food and experience just wasn’t worth the price we paid.

Stick to the pizza. The Brazilian menu is over priced. We could have totally spent a few more bucks and gone to Texas had choices of meat selection, rice, beans, mash, plantains, farofa and Salad Bar! Sorry, but I doubt we will ever be back.

Our server Jennifer was super nice, manager stopped by to asked if I wanted more wine and how was my appetizer, however he never removed my empty glass of wine or the dirty empty appetizer plate that had napkins on top of it, food was ok… However the homeless tax they add is complete bullshit, tip is included but it shouldn’t!!! This place needs better management and more attention! 6 people passed by our table and no one asked if we were served or to even pick up the empty stuff that was on the table. Overall experience SUCKED!

ABSOLUTELYPATHETIC!!! I WILLNEVERDOANYBUSINESSWITHTHISRESTAURANT!!! I was in Miami for a business meeting and was staying at a local«express» hotel. Although the hotel did not offer in-house room service, they did on a service that you called and you were able to place an order with a local restaurant. My wife and I were hungry and didn’t want to go out that evening. We decided to use the service. The service placed us in touch with Rotelli’s Pizza and Pasta. We placed an order for a large half Hawaiian, half cheese pizza. Simple enough, or so I thought. I was told by «Tiani» that it would take approximately 30 – 45 minutes. After an hour, note the time I was quoted, I called the service who placed me in touch with the restaurant. I asked to speak to «Tiani» and was placed on hold. When she came on the line, I inquired about my order. Tiani stated that«the driver had another delivery in my hotel and he should be there in 5 minutes.» I stated to her that I expected my order to be hot and she assured me that they«use special bags to keep orders hot.» I called her out on this and stated that I know they use the delivery bags EVERY other company uses. I stated that I would not be paying for a cold pizza! She began to get flustered as I also continued to question the time of delivery. She then went on to say«my order would arrive in ANOTHER10 minutes.» I then asked Tiani for the direct number to the restaurant and she said she«didn’t know the number.» She had to place me on hold to get the number of the restaurant. By the time the order showed up to my room it was over an hour and a half and please note, Rotelli’s is not located that far from the hotel. I checked the pizza when it arrived and as predicted, it was cold, ICECOLD! I refused to accept it. I called again to the restaurant and asked to speak to Tiani. I explained that the pizza was cold and I asked to speak to a manager. All the while the delivery man was waiting outside my door. He was useless as he did not speak any English. The manager(and I use that term VERY loosely) came onto the line. He stated his name was Angelo. I explained the issues I had and his response was not only abrupt but outright RUDE. He stated that he «will be happy to make a new order but I would have to wait because there were 5 orders ahead of me.» I responded by stating that I should have been eating by now if they had done things correctly and there was no way I was going to wait until midnight to get a new order.” I originally placed my order at 6:45pm. He stated again that he would make a new order but I would have to wait and that if I didn’t want the order that the driver would take it, that he was not in the business of giving away free food! I wasn’t looking for free food, just for a hot pizza! Angelo then became even more rude and stated he wanted to talk to his driver. I handed the phone to his driver and they conversed in Spanish. Unbenounced to the driver, I am fluent in Spanish and I overheard some«choice words» Angelo had for me. ABSOLUTELYPATHETICBOTHTHERESTAURANTANDTHETWOINDIVIDUALS I HADTODEALWITH, ANGELOANDTIANI. Also, you will read on other posts about the«homeless tax.» It is true because it was on my receipt too!!!

A couple days ago decided to give this place a shot. My server was a little awkward and quiet, but he was nice. I was craving some pizza before my movie and being in the dolphin all area I somehow ended on a table for two. I had some delicious Lemonade. I’m not a fan of too many toppings on my pizza, I much rather keep it simple so I went ahead and asked my server what the difference between the margarita pizza and the cheese pizza was, he said nothing. That being said I went straight for the $ 16 dollar large cheese instead of getting the $ 23 dollar margarita. All he needed to say was basically anything since I’m very easily convincible and attracted to expensive things but his loss in up selling. Even though I’m pretty sure there’s a difference since the prices are drastically different. Anyway, I added some ham on half my pizza(don’t judge my boyfriends taste). Overall it was regular cheese pizza. Nothing out of my this world. Good but not worth it. The atmosphere was pretty nice and quiet. Beware dolphin mall gets packed and wild on the weekends. Oh and tons of parking spaces.

This restaurant is located in Dolphin mall, in the left hand corner, before entering inside the mall. Before actually eating here, I would always miss it. The restaurant is never really super packed, so you always get seated quickly. They have tables inside and outside of the restaurant. The waiters are usually really friendly. My mother is obsessed with the pizzas here, so anytime we go to Dolphin Mall, this is the go-to spot. The pizzas are very good, and is of high quality. However, it is very pricey. Each pie costs almost $ 20 each. We always order 2, and mozzarella sticks. So it adds up. Something that I’ve never seen anywhere else, is that Rotelli always charges a homeless aide tax. The customer does not have the option of omitting that from their check. It’s always $ 1 – 3, but I still don’t find it fair that I HAVE to pay for that, instead of it being an option. This pizza is great, and if you haven’t tried it, they always have someone outside the restaurant giving out samples of their pizza. I will return because, as I mentioned earlier my mom is obsessed with their pizzas. However, I still believe it’s too expensive.

Talk about shady. We were given an $ 80 bill for two pizzas, two mojitos and two iced teas, with an additional handwritten suggested tip of 14 dollars. For a whopping total of $ 94 dollars. Mind you, once i reviewed the bill, i noticed the $ 80 already included a 20% gratuity, whis is advertised as a 15% gratuity on the line item, which our waiter pretended not to know about. Food is way overpriced, and to top it off they advertised 20% off if you pay cash, once we told the waiter he said they couldnt give us the 20% off because the mojitos were part of a happy hour special and they couldnt apply two discounts to the bill. Won’t be going back, ever. This place needs to be shut down, their bill reflects that all they want to so is screw their customer over.

I was here. at the bar they had in front. I was there waiting and waiting and several workers passed by me. Getting fed up I asked where do you order take out. The guy says“oh over there”. So every worker was just going to keep passing me until I asked a question. Oh ok. Will not be coming here anymore.

I am giving them one star because the only thing they have to offer that tastes decent is their pizza that they sample outside. That’s how they get you… So we figured good pizza, good Italian food? WRONG! The shrimp bruschetta was over priced, extremely cheap shrimp, over seasoned sauce, and soggy bread. the salad wasn’t even Italian, it was mixed greens. The pasta wasn’t fully cooked and again wine sauce was over seasoned. Our margaritas tasted like gasoline. Horrible. If you aren’t planning on eating pizza, LEAVE. Don’t waste your time. You’re probably better off at Sbarro at the food court. It was NOT worth the 75 $ tab. What a waste of my money. Still upset… Everything we ordered was a waste.

I go off the criteria another Unilocaler posted regarding this place. Food, service, price. First off, the party of 7 that I was with decided to come here after playing bowling at strike miami(also a 1 star). Food: I ordered a personal Hawaiian pizza. Ten inch diameter. It was a poorly done pizza. The cheese pizza at the bowling alley looked and smelled better. When I think of a Hawaiian pizza I want an excess of pineapples and ham. On the six slices of the pizza, there were 3 quarter sized pieces of pineapple and 3 slivers of ham. Are you serious? Service: the guy seemed friendly at first and seemed like he was going to be a good server. But proved us wrong. We didn’t see jalapeños on the menu for a topping on my pizza but we asked if they had any. He said they did and that he could make it happen. It didn’t happen. Also asked for lemons on the side of our waters. He put lemons on half and none on the other half. He named drink specials without telling price. Didn’t know who ordered what. Are you serious? Price: don’t get me started. First off, the waiter didn’t tell us what the price of the drink special was. Just buy one get one mojito. We found out that each small glass of mojito was $ 12.50. And I don’t know about other people, but there was alcohol in my sugar(it was just all sugar water). Then the bill came with the tip of 15% included. It was a party of 7, so I guess we should tip a total of 20%. But when you take the tip they charged and divide it by the pretax amount it is slightly greater than 21.5% and if you calculate the tip over the post tax(which included«aid to homeless tax»… Wtf is that) amount it was 19.9%(I will be posting the picture). So when one of the people in my party asked, the tip is included in the bill, right? The waiter dared to say, it is but only 15%. Apparently he, and the restaurant, do not know how to do math. And to charge that much for poor quality food and poor service. I could have gotten the same meal in New York(where I currently live) for cheaper with better service and better flavor. If I could give it a negative 5 stars I would. If I had the power to shut them down, I would.

ROACHESREALLY! I decided to go here since I’ve had take out before and the pizza is pretty tasty. After being seated the waiter asked what we wanted and my cousin and I ordered there 241 mojito while my niece asked for water with lemon. We got our beverages no lemon for the water so we asked again. After a long wait the server took our order; still no lemon. Our food came and the entertainment was the roach crawling on the wall. We called a server who decided to call our server who called yet another person. We were moved to another table; by the way we moved our own plates and food. And while three people were hunting the now famous roach they kept sitting people around that area; the restaurant was not full they could have sat these people somewhere else. We didn’t finish our meal and someone who may have been a manager came over to tell us we were getting a discount on our bill. We thanked him and then came the bill. Well they did and we received 20% off but then charged us for both margaritas; $ 25. Again after a long wait the server explained they couldn’t give us both the 20% AND the 241 promo??? We told him that was ridiculous… the service was slow for a half filled restaurant, WE had to move all our plates/utensils and we had to watch three people hunt to critter as the swept way too much garbage that was under the booth to begin with! I have worked in industry and TRUST me you can give whatever discount you want! The best part was when the service decided it was a good idea to roll his eyes because we asked him to explain the bill. Well they can keep their promo and poor service and roach infested restaurant. No need to EVER go there again!

Biggest rip-off ever!!! DONOTBOTHERCOMINGHERE unless you’re willing to pay $ 40 for a mediocre pizza. I was charged $ 105 for a large pizza, half cheese/half 4 toppings which were scattered and far and few between, an appetizer with 2 chicken tenders, 2 cheese sticks, 5 wings and french fries, a tiramisu and 2 Mojitos. AND the service sucked!!! We got the pizza first, then the COLD complimentary garlic bread, the drinks and then the appetizer and still no water. Avoid this place at all costs!!! It’ll be cheaper!

To all the Unilocalers and anybody visiting the Dolphin Mall… stay way from this place!!! First of all the people are not friendly. The food sucks!!! Not even the bread was good. The pizza and pasta have no flavor. I don’t understand why a restaurant with a big kitchen cannot make a simple meal. I know… the cooks suck !!! The manager and waiters don’t care. People stay way and save your money. There are better restaurants to eat in the Dolphin Mall. The food court is much better than this restaurant.

was VERY iffy about this place at first. I actually was so iffy that I decided to Unilocal them and check out the reviews to see if I wanted to try it out. Reviews honestly didn’t impress me but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. As My boyfriend and I walked in I was immediately impressed at the way the whole staff greets you. So we get seated and actually get introduced to our waiter, which I thought was very kind and professional. My boyfriend and I I swear asked about every plate on the menu… I felt so bad for the guy but he very patiently took his time and explained to us very thoroughly about every plate we asked about even offered to design our own dish! We ordered their chicken parmigiana with a side salad! Garlic breads were the house starter, very delicious gave us 3 rounds! Waiting time was was about 15 min which very exceptional given the fact that the plates are huge! We ended up taking half our plate to go which they bagged for us! What I loved the most about this place is that I swear to god every staff member participated in our needs throughout our meal. Nobody said hold on let me get your waiter or any other unprofessional statement like that! All around we left 110% satisfied! Thank you Rotelli

Not Worth it. Let us define the not-worth-it-ness of this place on three different levels: food, service and price. Food: Ehhh… We ordered the parmesan fries as an appetizer and we were super disappointed. For a plate that is so easy to make, they fell short. Fries were soggy and tasted like plastic and the parmesan had no taste at all. An odd combination of lack of flavors, if that makes any sense. The pizza was ok… Very saucy for my taste. Service: Pass by this restaurant and the host is literally throwing himself on you, trying to get you into the restaurant. Think of Lincoln Road level harassment. The incessant attention, however, ends the moment you sit down. The waiter came up said«drinks?,» came back and said«order?» and then disappeared the rest of the meal. Ordering the check had to be pantomimed across the room. But my biggest peeve was the writing on the check. «20% tip not included» in big bold letters, underlined 4 times for emphasis, straight across the paper. Ugh! Ultimate«NO!!» in my book. I understand that, unfortunately, the tourist population does not know to tip, but that is not the way of informing them, in my opinion. Other restaurants in the area have a small stamp that says«Tip suggested but not included» or something along those lines. After giving me 40 minutes of bad service, this was not what I wanted to hear. Once my credit card was swiped, that paper also included yet another reminder to «Do not forget to tip.» I will never not tip, but I was realllll close yesterday. Price: Ridiculously over priced. This is not a nice restaurant by any stretch of the imagination. The cups are made of that cheap plastic that cracks and even leaks(yes, it happened to us!), the forks are all discombobulated, the knives don’t cut and well, you know about the service. There is no justifying the super steep price. Our mediocre fries were $ 7.99, our pizza was $ 17.99 and fed three people just barely. Each additional topping is almost $ 4! I admit, I have paid much more for pizza, but at much nicer establishments. Spaghetti with meat sauce is $ 16!!! Not worth it, ATALL. Save your money and go anywhere else!
