260 reviews of the ball park and no one’s reviewed the team? FTR for me! The Marlins have two World Series Championships, one in 1997(when I still lived in South Florida) and the other in 2003. 2015 makes their 23rd season of baseball. In the early days, they were the only Major League Baseball team in Florida so they started off as the Florida Marlins. But now with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in Florida, they had to take a more local name. Fan engagement was high and of course, they have the required«race» in the late innings. Milwaukee’s Miller Park has their sausage race, Washington’s National Park has the Presidents race and of course, the Marlins have The Great Sea Race which features an octopus, a shark, a sea dragon and a stone crab. Of course, there’s Billy the Marlin as the official team mascot. He’s got a foot long sword out of his face as marlins tend to do, which makes for some interesting viewing when he’s there with the fan handshakes and such. This is the second time I’ve seen the Marlins. I caught them at Shea Stadium, I mean, Citi Field two or three years back. They did win tonight against the Braves in a late season game that means nothing for the standings as both teams have been eliminated from the pennant race. And that’s review #5200!
