This is where Unilocal reviews doesn’t really help here. I walked into Marinheiro because other options within walking distance were either closed, or just not inspiring. So Marinheiro — beautiful atmosphere, unbeatable service, and even outdoor seating with ocean views. And yes, you’re waiting to hear about the food — and the verdict? It’s good! I had the $ 35 dinner 3-course prix fixe. Admittingly, the New York strip was unevenly cooked. It was flawless on one side, and a little too cooked on the other. That definitely did disappoint. But for an appetizer, I had hot duck salad with fruits and walnuts(shredded duck, good salad, oranges, etc) — and it was tasty and pretty big. For dessert, I had the deconstructed napoleon(not sure what was deconstructed though) that consisted of mascarpone, dates, and honey — oh my lord, I could just have wolfed that thing down. As for the other plates, if you’re wanting beef, the rib eye is far better than the New York strip and comes with white truffles fries which were decent. And for a delectable appetizer, get the goat cheese on puff pastry with walnuts which has honey — and that’s always too good to pass. So, in general, there’s tasty food to be had here. I wouldn’t mind returning to eat here. P. S. The reviews in Unilocal is surprisingly two stars lower than the rating shown in Google. Don’t let the reviews scare you in trying this place out.

Let me get this straight. A drink will cost you about $ 15 here. In a tiny plastic cup? I don’t speak Spanish but I know a couple of choice phrases. One being, «no bueno.» The reason being a drink is that much is they charge tax and an automatic gratuity and I felt obligated to put in more money in their tip jar. I had a couple of caipirinhas here and I suppose I’m not really used to really sugary drinks. I don’t like having a mouthful of sugar every time I had a sip but I’m told this is the norm in Miami. At least they were strong. We sat outside though it was an unusually windy night. I suppose people sit outside for the view but it was fairly dark and you couldn’t see much anyway. They were doing a fundraiser inside otherwise, I would have actually considered sitting inside. If you donated $ 10, you got one drink. The restaurant was entirely devoid of people eating. Hm. Restrooms were very odd and smelly. I don’t think it’s worth checking out this place.

My wife and I went to Marinheiro to try Portuguese food. I learned 3 things: 1. Portuguese cuisine involves plenty of olive oil and garlic(a good thing). 2. Always remember to remove bay leaf from food when done(chewing it is not a good thing). 3. Marinheiro is not worth the trip. The place is nice but it lacks attention from a true restaurateur. Cheers!

I was really really expecting something spectacular for many reasons. 1. The picture 2. The location 3. The price! But to tell you the truth I’ve had better food from places that I’ve paid $ 13 for a plate of food. My family came to this restuarant for new years eve in Miami. It was suppose to be about $ 100 per plate. We were 2 adults and 1 infant. At the end of the night our total came out to $ 450!!! The server gave us 2 glasses of champaigne and forgot to mention that the champaigne he was giving us was the most expensive! He obviously assumed that we were too intoxicated to realize how much our champaign was. The food was mediocure, I’ve had waaaayy better tasting food for half the price. We innitially went here b/c it said it was«authentic portuguese» food. My husbands portuguese, and this food was far from authentic. I had the tofu lobster tail, and it seemed like the was no lobster in the tail, it seemed like it was all stuffed with potato, yuck! Overall the only good thing about this place is the view of the miami port, and that’s about it! I’m never ever going back to this place. If I were you, just save your $$$, it’s not worth it.
