This place is a must for me! Always good and ALWAYS fresh. Margaritas are delicious and the beer selection is great. The staff is as welcoming as the delicious smell that initially lured me in. Not to mention, the food is authentic as it gets!

Authentic Mexican food! Service was great. Large menu to choose from. It seems to be a pretty popular place for the locals.

I would say this place is good, but not great. I found it on Unilocal while I was in the area so my boyfriend and I said, why not? We are always willing to give a new place a try when it has good reviews on Unilocal. So we arrived on a Tuesday night around 7:30 and besides another couple and a party of about 8 people that were celebrating their birthday there, we were it. Our waitress was really nice and she brought out some chips with a large bowl of pico de gallo and 4 different dipping sauces to try ranging from hot to mild. She shortly came to take our orders and we both got burritos, mine chicken and his steak with jalapeños inside. I liked that they were willing to add the jalapeños instead of just telling him no. Shortly after the chef came with our meals and brought us extra chips and salsa. I really liked the way they treated us but unfortunately, the food was not the best I’ve had. Yes it was good, but to say it was great would be to exaggerate. Would I come back? Probably not. Should you try it if you’re in the area? Yes! You never know if you’ll fall in love with their food.

The atmosphere is low light and soft music in the background. Authentic Mexican music playing. It appears that they have a live band on Friday and Saturday nights. The staff is very friendly. For appetizer try the melted cheese bowl it’s awesome. The chips and salsa they bring is very fresh should have had more! The huaracha is excellent. Kids and I shared the alambra de carne. First time here and we will definitely be back.

Found this place by accident. We were grocery shopping next door. Very glad I did. This is a nice blend of TexMex and interior Mexican food. Reminds me of home in South Texas. Beware of the margaritas. .they are sneaky.

The margaritas are dangerously good. The chicken mole(now that’s mole) couldn’t be more home-style. And there’s a Dulce de Leche Lava cake you need to careful with. It’s so good, any diet you might have been on is out the window. You’ve been deliciously warned. Scanning other reviews, I can tell a lot of folks are comparing this restaurant to their gauche expectations based on «Amercanized» Mexican tastes. This is an authentic Mexican restaurant people. There shouldn’t be any pretentiousness here. Having eaten home made food from locals in Mexico around the Mayan ruins of Chichen-Itza I think I know what the real taste of Mexico is like. «Chili’s» is NOT that. Don’t waste your palate on thinking that authentic Mexican is supposed to taste like Tex-Mex(which is what I see when I read other reviews). Get real people.

We are always looking for good Mexican food and we found it at Las Casuelas. Their tacos de carnitas are great the carnita is cooked with an outer crisp that is full of flavor and the steak tacos are phenomenal, the warm corn tortillas cilantro and onions is a must! In closing, if you have not visited this place and are a Mexican food connoisseur I insist you visit this hidden gem!!!

Never coming here again! My mom and I ordered the Steak Quesadilla. I took a couple bites and just stop trying! I honestly don’t even a dog would be able to chew the meat we were given. We told the waitress twice that the food was not edible and apparently she didn’t care because we were not asked if we wanted something different and she didn’t even bother to let the manager know. She brought us the bill and charged us for something we ended up not eating and explained to her the situation with the food. In an effort not to make too much of a big deal of the situation we decided to pay for the food, but we got up and let the manager know that the food was horrible. Never in a million years did imagine the manager would come to our table afterwards to yell at us for complaining about the food! Honestly disappointed with the food and service! Will not be returning!

Had lunch here with the girls. Have to say fantastic place for a quick, flavorful, and filling lunch. It was 5 of us and right away they brought us chips with three different sauces. I am a sauce person so I enjoyed this so much. We all ordered tacos but my friend had fish tacos, the other campenchana taco(I believe its a combination of steak and chorizo) the others had steak, chicken, and then I ordered the carnitas and pastor… I was very happy with both. I love it when tacos are authentic and dont come with extra stuff like lettuce tomato and shredded cheese. It was simple with cilantro and onion and the flavors of the pork. My lunch was very satisfying, tasted great and priced right. Definitely coming back here for another great lunch.

Bumped into this place unexpectedly, as I had an errand to run in same shopping center. My friends and I saw a Mexican place, decided to have a few margaritas. Walked in during happy hour, 2 for 1 drinks. The frozen margaritas were of poor quality, had to send them back(too much ice, not enough alcohol). I tried my friend’s margarita«on the rocks» and hers was ok. Ended up drinking beer instead. Disappointed as we specifically walked into this restaurant, vs other available option, for the margaritas. Restaurant was empty, didn’t smell any food being cooked, so cannot rate based on food. Service was ok. The person that took our order greeted us and came back just once, after that, seems like she switched with another guy as we didn’t see much of her, and other guy came around more often. Not sure why smaller restaurants do this, just stick to one person, and have another assist if needed, helps build relationship during time of service. Music was good for happy hour, but I wouldn’t have enjoyed it had I been there for dinner as I don’t like fast paced music with food. Over all, not a great experience for happy hour, but also not a terrible one being that the beers were 2×1.

Finding myself in this area due to having my car serviced, I was craving Mexican food and saw a sign on a chain link fence for this restaurant. I walked in and the interior was rather drab, but I decided I should probably judge based on the food so I did not want to jump to conclusions. Scanning the menu, I saw the prices were very affordable, so already, that made a good impression. The choices were okay, they could have been better, but at that price, you cannot ask for more. By the way, they don’t have drink refills, so either order water, or ration your drink carefully. They do bring complimentary chips and salsa to the table, though the salsa was somewhat watery, and the chips didn’t seem homemade. I ordered fajitas and must say, I was a bit disappointed. Whereas other restaurants give you guacamole, red peppers, shredded cheese and lettuce, here I just got green peppers, onions, and chicken strips. To make matters worse, the chicken was flavorless. No seasonings at all, other than salt. I added hot sauce but even that didn’t do much for my meal. My friend’s steak was also lacking taste. It just seemed like someone threw some chicken strips and pepper strips in a pan and sauteed them. The rice was like something out of an Uncle Ben’s box. None of the staff that day was Mexican, and the food certainly was not authentic Mexican food. You get more authentic food at Lime, for what it’s worth. If you want a cheap meal, without caring about its authenticity, then come here, but don’t expect much flavor. You get what you pay for, I guess…

Best Mexican food in Miami. Nothing compares. Hands down the most authentic. Order the Huaraches Asada. It’s a hand made tortilla with beans, some kind of sprinkled cheese, and other fresh condiments. The food wasn’t greasy. It is not Tex-mex it is authentic. Better than the famous Rosa Mexicana I believe it is called in Homestead. Better than Guadalajara in Pine Crest. Also order the Tacos al Pastor they infuse it with pine apple. Amazing! *****

First time eating at this restaurant and the food was excellent. I ordered the chicken burrito and my girlfriend ordered the chicken and avocado salad which was very good. The service was exceptional always making sure we had water and if we needed anything else. We went on a Friday around 9:30pm and it wasn’t as busy has I would have expected. They did have a gentleman singing live which helped the atmosphere. They give you free tortilla chips to start which were pretty good and they do serve you a lot. The tortillas did come with 3 sauces and a salsa which made it interesting to try different flavors. I have passed this place so many times I don’t know why I never went sooner. I will be coming back to try something new.

I have been here twice. The first time the food was great. I went again yesterday, and unfortunately I got food poisoning. I’ve been in the hospital since last night and the doctor confirmed it was food poisoning(I also did not eat anywhere else yesterday). So someone either didn’t cook the food properly, or it wasn’t stored properly, or Didn’t clean their hands. Needless to say, I will not return.

Was it «Campechano»? I can’t remember what they are called. Anyway, look for Taco Combo with STEAK and CHORIZO Holy Guacamole is that DELICIOUS! Unfortunately the same can’t be said for the actual Guacamole here. It isn’t that great and we love to have Guacamole every time we eat Mexican cuisine. Free chips with 3 sauces and Salsa. Jarritos sodas and Coke Zero(fantastic news for us since most places only carry Diet Coke) Queso Fundido is tasty too but it hardens quickly in that ceramic bowl. The tortillas it comes are nice and warm. I’m always looking for a «Pintos & Cheese» a la Taco Bell whenever I try a new Mexican place. Taco Rico across Tropical Park will make it for me. They said they’d do it for me here too but I didn’t want to spend $ 3 for the upgrade(just to add red enchilada sauce and melted mozzarella). Granted, they have to make/cook this sauce when I order it, so it makes sense to charge me but I was feeling cheap today. So the tacos are delicious and the plain beans alright. I’m not a fan of their rice or their guacamole. But we’ll be back again and again because it’s a quiet spot and the service is friendly and attentive.

Came here on a Saturday night and they had live entertainment. A guy playing music and singing… loudly. Way too loud… we were sitting off the main dining area and it was still difficult to hold a conversation. They brought out chips and salsa. The chips seemed store bought… not freshly made and the salsas were not bad. I ordered tacos al pastor and I was not impressed. I have had better. The meat was tender but lacking flavor. It came with rice and refried beans. The rice was good, not mushy and had good texture. The refried beans were flavorless. The service was not very good. We had a young guy and he must have looked at my BF empty glass of tea about 10 times as he went back and forth and I finally asked him for a refill. I was really looking forward to trying this place out for some time now and I had high hopes. Will probably try it one more time to see if it was just an off night.

Stumbled onto this place while looking for some food. Always game for some good Mexican. Walked in latish on a Saturday night. The first thing I noticed was the door was ajar, it was kinda too warm inside, and the man singing was LOUD. We sat down and were served chips and 3 kinds of sauce. A hot spicy salsa, a green cilantro based salsa and some sort of cream based stuff. The hot was good, the green was pretty good and the creamy was not the favorite. The chips didn’t taste homemade but they did the job. The main course was something I had never heard of before, Chilaquiles with eggs. It contained green tomatillo sauce, cilantro, onion, sour cream, Mexican cheese, rice and beans. It was ladled over more tortilla chips. It was a very interesting dish. Kinda sour, kinda spicy. The eggs could have been a bit softer but it was tasty. Over all it was a good meal, but not quite up to par with Los Magueyes but a good alternative if you find yourself in the area.

The owner must be a big movie fan, as the walls are covered with pictures of Mexican movie stars(at least they look like movie stars to a gringo). Festive papel picado banners gives the restaurant a more«Mexican» look. We tried some tacos and a menudo(beef tripe soup). Food was good, not great, but service was really slow on a weekday lunch. I was not expecting fast food, but I felt lucky I didn’t have to make it back to work afterwards, as we waited so long for food to come and then for the check. The tortilla chips was stale too. I’d say better options abound.
