Only judging on delivery experience; I called at 10:30am for a delivery at 12:00pm for a company lunch, and they arrived at 12:30. This is unacceptable. I had a room full of hungry people who expected lunch at 12pm. I know the traffic in Miami is horrible, but considering I placed my order so early, they had ample time to make sure the food arrived at 12pm. We wanted to try a different Sushi restaurant this time around, and unfortunately, the expected delivery time cannot be guaranteed so this restaurant will not work for our corporate lunches. Their food was actually pretty good so it’s a shame we won’t be ordering from here again.

I ordered via Unilocal because I wanted accuracy and a trackable order. It took twice the amount of time as estimated so half an hour turned into over an hour. The shrimp Shumai arrived completely cold and fried instead of steamed. The yellowtail jalapeño roll had some kind of sauce drizzled on top that didn’t need to be there and was not tasty… maybe some kind of spicy mayo but not a good execution of a simple and time tested combination. This restaurant is located around the corner from my office so I thought this experience was my punishment for being too lazy to walk over there myself, but when I talked to my coworkers they said it would not have been any faster or less frustrating if I had gone. But maybe my shumai would have at least been warm. The only good thing about the experience was the delivery girl who had a genuine smile and warm greeting. If I had a business I would hire her just to save her from working at a place like this.

Awesome food and wonderful customer service. I had the chance to practice my Japanese — speaking skills while enjoying the succulent white fish tempura and vegetables.

Don’t order at night. Rice was really old(had probably been cooked for lunch), fish was not fresh at all(had probably been sitting out all day). Delivery was terrible — everything arrived looking like the driver decided to throw the containers around during the trip, or maybe he got in an accident, who knows. Either way, it was a mess. Completely not worth the(very) overpriced menu.

It’s cheap, fast, and conveniently located. Sadly, this place doesn’t have fresh enough fish to be a go-to sushi spot. To boot the biggest issue was the cooked piece of salmon that came with the lunch bento(which is also a little steeply priced for what it is). The tiny slab of salmon seems to have been frozen and defrosted a few times before it hit the griddle. I had a headache for two days after eating here and won’t be going back. Too bad because it could have been a match made in heaven, Kaori and me. It’s times like these that I miss New York. Sigh.

Been looking for a reasonable place for sushi since we moved to the downtown area, when we lived on south beach we were very Hiros sushi express people. Kaori is really good. It’s a bit more expensive, but you’re paying for quality .it has a more mom n pop feel. The fish is fresh. And the service was good. I’ll probably make it back here soon.

Went there last night for dinner after a little bit of a search. It’s in the«Ross» building. We walked in and there was one man working the whole restaurant. He was extremely polite and served us expeditiously the food that he prepared for us. After some conversation with him, he admitted that his restaurant was more of a lunch spot, which it really did appear to be when we walked in, but took the chance anyway. The food was delicious, for a person that wanted sushi that was reasonably priced and doesn’t know the ins and outs of Miami.

After Mikan relocated, my wife and I are now on the search for a good ‘every day’ sushi restaurant that will deliver to us. In that spirit, we tried Kaori for the first time. Overall it was a good experience, and we’ll likely try Kaori again to see if they can replace Mikan in our hearts(and stomachs). Things started rocky because the person taking our order had difficulty understanding. Granted, the situation was not helped by the fact that I was ordering based on the menu as it appears on the Unilocal link, which is apparently now quite different from the actual menu. But once we got this cleared up, the person on the end of the phone still had great difficulty understanding my order and continued to demonstrate an insufficient understanding of the menu. The delivery time was estimated at 40 minutes, but the food was not delivered until the 55 minute mark. One item was slightly wrong — a roll which should have included scallions did not. The food as a whole was above average. Everything tasted fresh, and the eel roll and the spider roll stood out as particularly tasty. The spicy tuna roll was a baseline ‘average’. Despite the $ 3 delivery fee(which in isolation feels rather high), the overall value was quite good. We’ll probably try Kaori again to see whether the the order-taking and delivery aspects improve.

Great service/staff, fast, and yummy sushi! I had the #22 vegetarian rolls with brown rice. Def recommend if your looking for a good lunch spot in Miami & the sushi chef is very nice. :). Also it’s awesome when you go back every year and they remember you :)

To me, the best affordable sushi(ie not counting overpriced places like Zuma) in downtown/brickell. I’m half Japanese so I’m a huge stickler for fish quality and I can always tell if the chef is Japanese or not. This place is certainly Japanese owned and the nigiri is fresh and delicate. Also very inexpensive. Surprisingly, the Thai donuts were also excellent. Will be eating here much more frequently

For a girl who only started eating sushi a couple of years ago I have to say that time and time again when I want a quick fresh sushi fix on a quick lunchtime run, Kaori has been my go to place after trying a couple of other places. I’ve never had to wait more than 10 minutes for my to go order and the fish has always been fresh and the service more than friendly. I would lean more toward the sushi than the cooked dishes though, they’re not bad, a tad salty.

I ordered from here based on the reviews. I figured I’d receive the Iron Sushi type but to my surprise this place was great! We ordered the cubano roll and the aloha roll. Both were huge and very tasty. The pineapple sauce for the aloha was awesome! We also tried the hamachi jalepeno app. It was small but good. And the order was delivered in close to 20 minutes! I will def order from here again. The price is right!

Ordered delivery via eat24 app. The service works well at this restaurant as the food came exactly on time as they predicted. The sushi was fresh considering it came via delivery. The only negative was that roll without rice was a little too vinegar-y.

Not sure what has changed with Kaori, but my friends have dragged me here quite a few times and I’ve definitely changed my mind about it. None of my friends like Ozzi Bar! So unless I go there alone, we wind up at Kaori. The nigiri is small, but the flavors are quite tasty and fresh. Seaweed salad is very yummy. Spicy conch salad is another great dish, but a little skimpy on the conch. Love the Kaori roll which is a multi-fish roll with cream cheese and eel hand rolls also. I still prefer making an order for delivery rather than eating in.

I like this place for what it is. FAST delivery, decent, cheaper sushi. The rolls are pretty good, but the side salad is pretty skimpy at $ 2. It should really be more like $ 1. The delivery guy is always really friendly and that’s hugely appreciated in a town where friendly service seems to be dying if not dead already.

Cheap and gets you full. I stayed at the Intercontinental and came here for a quick to-go bite. I ordered a #3(Teriyaki chicken bowl with 4 sushi, 4 sashimi, and miso soup). Oh boy was I full!!! You get a lot of bang for your buck here.

Miso soup was horrible… I didn’t know it was possible to ruin miso soup that much. Ginger also wasn’t eatable. Sushi and sashimi were ok, nothing special Service is very slow at 2pm, when it had only 4 –5 tables.

So in my medication induced gluttony, I decided to get myself some REAL frozen yogurt. As I was about to enter the yogurt stand I looked to my left and saw an open sign on Kaori Sushi. As many times as I have been through this mall, I have never come at a time when this little Japanese hole-in-the-wall was open. In fact, today, I barely made it in before they closed. I looked quickly at the menu and ordered the following Chicken Teriyaki without sesame seeds. After ordering I talked with the owner and the hostess/cashier about different businesses in the area and when they are busy. Apparently they get a BIGRUSH for lunch. After a nice conversation, my food came out ready to take with me and it smelled great. Awesome, ready to go! I decided there was no reason for yogurt and started to head back to the office. Then… something got into me… I stopped and opened up the styrofoam container. I wanted to check it to make certain no seeds. Thank goodness I did. They were all over the chicken. I walked back and told the owner about it. He immediately looked at the hostess who promptly handed him the ticket with my request in bold letters: NOSESAMESEEDS! He went back and remade the meal for me and then asked if I wanted a sampling of sushi on the house. I respectfully declined as I was really tasting the chicken teriyaki more than anything. This time I checked the food before I left, found it looked good, and ran back to the office. I ravaged the chicken and rice. The sauce was a tad citrusy and bland as was the rice. For me, at this point, it was perfect. I really believe the sesame seeds would add a depth of simple flavor that I cannot wait to try. I also want to try the sushi.

I LOVETHISPLACE!!! WARNING –can get packed for lunch. best time to go is 11:45am or 1:15pm –if you sit outside facing the dental office, you will be checking out some nasty before and after pictures of teeth –the water tastes funny sometimes so I order a canned drink –only open for lunch MYFAVS –croquettes(filled with creamy crab) –Cubano Roll –rolls are the perfect size OVERALLREVIEW I work in the downtown area and walk here for lunch ATLEAST once a week. The sushi is so fresh, the service is great, and the price is right! They also offer free delivery to nearby buildings, and they are fast. I’ve tried most of the appetizers, soups, salads, and rolls, and I have always been happy with my food. I actually wish this place was near my house — I’d be there all the time.

Downtown Miami, this place is small, quaint, fast for lunch and good fresh food. My daughter forced me to try it the other day for lunch. They offer soups, salads, cold and hot appetizers, sushi lunch combo’s, and rolls. We tried #2 which was Sushi Sashimi combo– $ 10.95 you get 8 pieces assorted sushi and four pieces of sashimi. California roll and Salmon is what we choose. Then two sides of rice. We sat outside in a hallway with a few tables. Great for people watching. It was very fresh, and good. Being downtown it is very small maybe five tables inside and four outside. Service very good, friendly quick efficient staff. You could tell alot of business people in the area come here. I am glad we found it. Note, like many things here only open for lunch… Good prices: California rolls $$ 4.85 JB Roll $ 4.85 Specialty rolls Dragon roll $ 8.50 Shrimp Tempura roll $ 8.25 Good fresh fish, good price, good service, will be back… No four stars because no dinner hours…:(
