Pro’s: –Milkshakes are yummy and cheap Con’s: –Saw maggots in the garbage can –Area has a «dirty» feel to it –Fruits/vegetables for sale not great looking and many weren’t even local(imported) –BIGGIE(for me): they sell animals for«religious purposes» next door. This can only mean they’re used for sacrifices(yuck!) Not sure if it’s sold by the same people or not but I don’t like being near that stuff

I love this stand, off of Krome ave. The gentleman at the desk, is always nice, and makes a GREAT shake! I usually get the guava one, by fav! Daughter loves the strawberry shake. I’ve bought some produce here as well. Not bad, a pit overpriced, but still good. The accept cc, which is GREAT! There is seating outside, where you can enjoy your shake! Check them out! Open year round

I’ve been to Grandma’s a few times. I like this place for a couple reasons; they are open on Sundays and they have excellent shakes! So far I’ve tried the banana, mamay and strawberry shake. All are delicious. I have to agree with the other reviews that the strawberry shake is amaaaazing. Wish I could have one right now!!! Aside from this, they sell fruits and other produce(I’m guessing it depends what’s in season). They also sell homemade items like salsa, guacamole, etc but I’ve not tried anything other than some produce and their shakes.

Two words: STRAWBERRYSHAKES!!! They have the best fresh strawberry shakes every. My husband likes the mamey shake. They also have a small farmer market like this but its not the best. If your in the area, definitely stop by. You won’t regret it.

Grandma’s Garden is the $hit! Their claim to fame is that they have the«BESTSTRAWBERRYMILKSHAKES». I have to agree with them… THEYDO! Let me explain further… I was down in Homestead for the Fruit and Spice Festival last Saturday. It was really no big deal, so after walking around for about an hour and a half in 97+ degree weather we decided to grab our lychees and hit the road. My mom insisted that we drive around Homestead for a bit and find this fruit stand that supposedly has the best milkshakes. I seriously just wanted to go home and shower, but I humored her. We drove up and down Krome ave for a bit and finally found Grandma’s Garden. I walked out of the car hesitantly, not believing that what we were about to have was going to be anything out of this world. I mean, seriously… How good could a strawberry milkshake be? Well, let me tell you… it was F’ing AWESOME! I want to say that the milkshake was made with vanilla soft serve ice cream and overly ripe strawberries – a marriage made in heaven. The strawberry flavour was strong, fresh, and everything a strawberry milkshake should be. I really can’t elaborate any further… you’ll just have to experience it for yourself. Next time you’re in Homestead, make sure you stop in for a shake… you won’t regret it. It’s worth every calorie!

What more can you ask from this place if you’re looking for fresh, local produce? There’s a U-Pick field out in the back so you can pick out your own strawberries, tomatos, peppers, herbs… They also sell fresh honey in jars from the locals. And let me tell you about their milkshakes! The batido de mamey is epic goodness! I astral projected to Cuba when I got my hands on one for the first time. Not really. But it was a pretty darn good mamey milkshake. There’s also a guy adjacent to this place that sells turkeys, roosters, chickens, quail, and bunnies. yes, bunnies. $ 10 a pop. What a bargain. Purchase with caution, because I doubt any of them are spade or neutered, and you’re likely to have a litter of them if you take a female home. Like all produce nowadays prices are a little expensive(nothing to freak out over though). The cool thing about this place is really just going out there to pick your own stuff.
