worst service ever… there is one server who’s super rude, she literally had 2 tables and when i asked for something she rolled her eyes at me and with such a nasty tone said«what do you want» and when i asked for the manager she never came or took my order. It takes so long for them to come ask for orders, they take an hour to get them to bring it to you. Food is normal, but the service will make you lose it.

This place is a dive. The help can’t speak English and the food stinks. I found several hairs in my meal. One of the people in my party had fish, which the menu states is sole, which is an expensive fish whenever you order it someplace. My friend, who is a big fish eater, swears it was cheap Swai which is catfish. There was no way that this crummy restaurant would serve expensive fish like that for such a low price. My advice is to stay away from this place. I think you can get sick from a dump like this.

I’ve eaten here about 4 – 5 times and every time I go the service just gets worse. First it takes about a good 20mins for anyone to bother bringing us the menu, once I ordered the food it took about a good 40 mins to get, I ordered a steak with salad and you would expect a good piece of meat on a plate but the steak was as thin as paper. The last time I went, I ordered a chicken caesar salad which took almost an hour before I could even begin to eat because they messed up the order, and to top it all off it took a good 10 mins for the waitress to swipe my credit card and send me on my way. This is definitely not the best place if you’re in a rush, try to avoid it if possible.

Pros: * Quick service * Clean * Mom-and-pop-shop vibe * Inexpensive * Good portions Cons: * Nothing exceptional * Staff not proficient in English * Does not except American Express(bummer!!) Recommendation: Forget the menu. Go with the buffet! Conclusion: I don’t go there often, but I’ve never regretted going there. The staff is courteous and the service is decent. Has a casual, family-owned vibe about the place, and I like that. There menu is modestly priced, and I feel like I am in a little South-American oasis when I am there. Check them out when you get a chance.

Visiting Miami and was looking for a small out of the way place to have breakfast. Found Emily’s on Unilocal checked the reviews and decided to give it a try. Emily’s is great little place for good hearty food. Got there a little late for breakfast but they were very accommodating. Friendly wait staff and clean diner environment. Food was good and the coffee was great. Highly recommend Emily’s as an interesting local alternative to downtown hotel options.

I want to start off by saying that my boyfriend would probably rate this place a five star only based on the food. He said that those were the best eggs he’d ever eaten. I have to agree, we came for breakfast and boy will we be coming back. It’s right by our college so my boyfriend keeps reminding me how we will be coming back often. I really liked the food and the portion was relatively big. I was sort of annoyed that we waited maybe five minutes after entering for the menus and after that I had to stand up and ask for them myself. I also didn’t appreciate that the ratio of bacon to everything else was so small. I am a huge bacon lover and I only got two tiny strips cocompared to like 3 eggs. But everything else was great. We will definitely be coming back and next time I will ask for a larger portion of bacon. I also wanted to mention that theit prices are super cheap and it looks like a great place to bring a bunch of starving college students for lunch.

As I understand it, this place has recently moved and created a larger, friendlier atmosphere. My first experience there was totally by mistake, we were attending the Jazz/Blues Street Block party on 01⁄25. We had tickets to try samplings from area restaurants… it worked. The next morning, after picking up my brother from MIA airport, we headed to Emily’s because of the service we received the night before by a «Super Waitress» who was not even on duty that night-«Mari». She is outstanding and attentive. So we show up for breakfast and I must say, I was really impressed! The café con leche, the food and service was outstanding! Where else can you get steak and eggs, toast and coffee for under $ 9?! And it was good! The chimichurri was fresh, the bread was fresh! My brother’s omlette was massive, and full of veggies and meat. My boyfriend’s french toast, eggs, home fries and so much meat-looked delish! Most meals came with toast and coffee! Just a GREAT deal! We were so stuffed, we walked the streets for hours to burn that off… I’m definitely a fan!

Had to come to this place due to jury duty, the service is disoriented, no water to the table, no bread, ask for Congri and got horrible rice, gummy and sticky, have no choice since I’m new to the area but this is not for me. Service takes their time to charge you, they don’t ask you if you need anything, they are like robots at lunch.

We ordered two sandwiches and a soup for which we waited 45 minutes. As we finally get the sandwiches, still no soup. After another 5 we hear they were out of soup! And soup was all my colleague ordered. Terrible. Food was ok, nothing to write home about. PASS

Lunch specials at $ 6.95, one meat, two sides and a salad. How cheap is that for a lunch!!! They have the food displayed(buffet style), but it’s replenished every so often, since lots of people come in for take out or eat in. I’ve had pollo encebollado, chuletas de puerco, overall pretty good for the price that you pay. Definitely a keeper for a quick lunch in downtown. The Cuban Sandwich is done right there and then, it’s a good choice! This is a typical cuban place, cafecitos served on a window for people that want to just grab a café and go or eat in and enjoy the friendly staff!

This is an old school downtown place. Cute and friendly waitresses. Good breakfast. Tasty sweet Cuban Coffee con Leche(milk). Fantastic orange juice. Nice breakfast and home fries. I think the name must have changed and is now Emily’s Restaurant & Cafeteria. It seems downtown Miami has a major shortage of restaurants that serve casual breakfast so we were happy to stumble upon this place and will come back. Love the old neighborhood feel of the place, could use some more art like the far wall near the kitchen.
