This place is disgusting ! Don’t spend your money here. They get closed down all the time and the food taste as if they have been using the same cooking grease since forever.

I just recently moved to Miami from LA about 2 months ago. Yes, I am Cuban and am very fond of our culture, especially the food! I had high expectations coming here in regards to the food, since I personally think grandma’s cooking is thee best. I decided to give this place a try one day for lunch, since I was craving a real good palomilla w/rice and beans. um, YUCK! worst one I think i’ve ever had. It literally tasted gross, like it had been washed with soap and water. It had absolute no flavor and just looked like it was cooked in a sewer. The rice and beans were OK, but really lacked flavor as well. Now for the platano maduros… I can’t even describe the taste. It was definitely not what we are use to. You can tell they cooked them real quick from the freezer. It was bad. I much rather wait 5 more minutes for them to peel them and then fry, instead of giving me something quick and not so tasty. I definitely won’t be coming back here for awhile… for the price of the big meals, they could put alittle more effort in the flavor of the food.

Cuban food in Miami is definitely easy to come by, but if you want it while shopping at Dadeland, this is the only place to get it. We ordered palomilla steaks and grilled chicken breast. The palomilla was too dry. It’s not that hard to make a good palomilla, guys… there’s no excuse. The chicken was better, but still a tad dry as well. Rice and beans were just OK since the beans lacked flavor. I also find $ 7.99 a meal to be a bit on the expensive side for the type of food you get and the location. I probably will choose something else next time I’m eating at the food court.
