Highly recommended. This is where you want to buy a suit: consummate, friendly professionals who love what they do. You’ll look good, and you won’t have to deal with high-pressure sales. They know you’ll be back for more.

Its the only place I get my clothes! My great grandfather always had his suits made here and since then every generation in my family has done the same. It is amazing how they are able to keep the classic looks you want, but also offer the younger generations clothes they would also want to have. Not only do they have suites(custom made or not) but they have all types of other clothes for all types of occasions, including casual wear. What I feel separates Bolado Clothiers from other stores, is that Jose and Carlos(the owners) will stop what they are doing to help you in any way they can. You can be in their store for hours without realizing it because they are so friendly. They want you to have a great time while there and make sure you leave with clothes perfectly suited for you. Highly Recommend!

They came highly recommended, and they have lived up to their reputation. Their service is excellent. They went out of their way to make sure that my husband looked good in his suit.

This is a family business in the truest sense. It is a second or third generation haberdashery(a vendor of mens clothes and accessories). The business is now run by two brothers Jose and Carlos, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Bolado, who you will frequently find at the shop. The fact that the elder states persons are there further warms an already charming store. It’s really quite nice to shop in a classy family run store, and it’s great to see Mr. and Mrs. Bolado enjoying a glass of wine and passing time at the store. I went to Bolado’s looking for suit pants or a suit. I have wide shoulders and a narrow waist; I have a hard time finding suits that don’t fit like a garbage bag. Unlike other places I’ve been to in manhattan, the Bolado’s didn’t try to sell me a package. This was huge relief because I hate having to beat the salesman off, I was pleased to not have to do it. Given my past experience, I told them I wanted to start with one suit and I pretty much wanted to go with the lowest price suit available. I wanted to do this to test the quality of craftsmanship. Unfortunately this bit me in the ass a bit because while I thought I was getting super 120’s fabric, I wound up getting super 100’s. Super 100’s fabric is a bit drab and stiff in my opinon. This is actually a real problem with the suit because I don’t think I’ll wear it much because of it. As soon as the suit arrived I knew the fabric wasn’t what I wanted. I didn’t press the situation because I am the one who ultimately choose the fabric. I should have paid closer attention. I didn’t think it was fair to leave them on the hook since I did ultimately select the fabric from the swatch. I think I confused them by requesting both lowest cost option and super 120’s fabric. The lowest cost option is super 100’s so clearly I should have been clearer about the fact 120’s fabric is what I really wanted. The only other issue I had was the cut of the suit. It took a number of trips to the store and conversations to get them to understand what I was looking for. Ultmately the suit pretty much came out how I wanted it, however it would have been nice if they had a sample there that would help me envision what the end product would basically look like. They have offered this for the next go around, if I decide to use them again. The problem is samples are harder for them to get, you can’t have a sample of every cut, at least I don’t think they are up for it. If they have to request a sample that could take some time for it to come in. Not really sure how that works. The point is this can be a very time consuming process, versus buying off the rack. If it was’t for these two things this would have been 4 star review. On the upside. Carlos and Jose get 6 out of 5 stars for patience and willingness to work with me. As I said, it would have been nice if the process went a bit quicker, in fairness I am extremely picky when it comes to how clothes fit. I must have gone for 6 fittings, each time we would tweak something here and there. All the while Jose and Carlos were very accomodating and extremely pleasant. Moreover they never told me I was wrong or I wasn’t seeing things correctly. I could not have asked for more from them in this regard. I am contemplating going back for a second round. I am not completely sold on made to measure versus off the rack. The good news is they sell both. Check them out and share your expereience. These are good guys
