I was a little shocked to have read the reviews regarding treatment at this store, and I honestly hope I never experience anything similar because they will FOREVER lose my business. Come to think of it, the service has never been very warm and inviting — actually is been stale at best, but never offensive. I’ll dock one star for that. My review is based on the quality of the clothing at this store. This isn’t one of those children stores that carry those cheesy«I LOVEMYMOM» or «GRANDMAISMYFAVORITE» graphic tees, and I absolutely that about it. The design of their clothing is clean and classical. The quality of their merchandise is up there with the best you will find for baby. My son only wears his PJs once, maybe twice, and then they go in the wash. Even with my OCD level of laundering, all of the items purchased from Baby Cottons still look brand new. I really hope they get their act together in regards to their customer service.

Horrible treatment… felt like I was Pretty Woman on Rodeo Drive. I love pima cotton which is the only reason I’ve shopped at Baby Cottons, but honestly the last time I went to this store it was the last draw. I was purchasing some clearance items and was told they were final sale, the clerk then proceeded to cut all the tags off. I told her that some were gifts and to please not rip them off. She told me that when you buy gifts you buy retail not clearance! Then felt I was unworthy of a nice baby cotton bag for my $ 100 worth of merchandize and gave me a plain brown bag. One example of many uncomfortable experiences that I have had at this store and the one at Merrick Park… Although more often at this Dadeland location.

Baby Cottons is located in the new wing at Dadeland mall(by where the old Limited/Express used to be). Our family day at the zoo was rained out and we decided to hit the mall for a bit. This store, along with a few others in the new wing, had opened up the week prior to our visit. When we entered the store my husband and I were immidiately ambushed by an employee. I greated her and then tried to browse around while my husband pushed our sleeping child around in the stroller. The lady asked my husband questions that at first just seemed like regular, polite conversation… but when 30 seconds after asking my husband how old my daughter was, she asked me the same question, I realized something was up. She literally followed us step-by-step throughout the store. Repeatedly asking the same few questions and even pushing me along when I stopped to look at newborn clothing that obviously wasn’t going to fit my toddler. The woman was basically on my husbands back for about 3 – 4 minutes when I finally asked, «Why are we being followed?» Then it hit me. We were wearing shorts and sneakers… prepared for a day at the zoo that came to an early end… and apparently that makes us thieves? Poor? Unfit to shop here? Bad human beings? And please don’t think that we looked like criminals. The majority of our shopping is done at Banana Republic where there is hardly anything offensive… unless you take offense to khaki. The employee at the store that day made a pretty bad mistake. I have a child, friends with children, family with children, and I not only purchase clothing for my child, but gifts for those other children pretty frequently. Guess where I won’t ever be shopping?
