After a morning spent in the chilly Jury Room at the Courthouse, followed by a half hour walking around outside with a winter cardigan on trying to defrost my bones, suddenly my home packed lunch of cherry tomatoes and avocado and almonds just didn’t seem to be enough to get my inner temperature back to what I consider normal. I needed soup. I needed something warming, and fattening. Yeah, the thermometer outside was 91 degrees today but I needed something comforting to warm me up after surviving three and a half hours in the tundra that is the jury room and the only option other than an obscure cafeteria on the 7th floor and some sketch hot doggy things from the vast amount of street vendors in front of the Courthouse was Au Bön Pain They had a great selection of soups and stews, as they always do. But I elected to go for the Brocolli Cheddar. And it delivered. Hot, cheesy, salty — just like so many of my Unilocal friends. I was able to go back upstairs and have a nap and continue my civic duty.

Unless you want to eat street cart food or from the cafeteria this is the only solid place for a real lunch in the area. Service is quick and they have plenty of seating. Not my first choice but it’s not terrible considering I was expecting worse.

This place was clean, well organized and efficiently managed. I had low expectations for food in the court house — but this place was clean and the staff prepares the food in front of you. The food is OK –not my first choice for a meal but OK for jury duty. I had the turkey club — the only thing I did not like was the bread which was very thick white bread. I recommend sticking to a wrap. I give this 4 stars only because if you are on jury duty you don’t have any other option.

Love this place. Shorter line than the one located near JMH. 2 – 3 registers. Friendly staff. Salad comes with wheat bread and 2 dressings. If you forget, they remind you. Great alternative to UMH cafeteria that does not accept credit cards if you spend less than $ 5.

Great Bread! Ok Jury duty, not the best so I amble here on lunch break. I have never been to Au Bön Pair before. I was thinking just another Sandwich joint. Courthouses are what they are but they made the best with the space they could. Simple but Clean. Free Refills on Drinks! The Service was fantastic, Smiles from all. I was jaded trying just to eat… well anything… My dull Order. Turkey in a Baguette. Sounds simple right. But no, the bread was freakin delectable. crunchy crust, soft inner bread. The overall taste with some amazing hint of Dijon and smoked Turkey was «A Great Moment» in Jury Boring Day. I forgot how good a proper Sandwich was! You just ever get lost in good food, that was me! How good was it, if I there in the area, I am so going back. It was worth the Security Screening

This Au Bön Pain is located inside the Courthouse and it’s a fairly decent option, when you’re in court all day. While serving as a juror, I had a short break, so I just headed downstairs. Even though the line seemed to be pretty long, it went very fast. The staff was friendly enough. The food was, nothing special, but it served it purpose, quick and quick.

Not really as bad as I thought it would be. Obviously not the best place I’ve ever eaten, but the turkey wraps with spicy honey dijon I found myself eating daily while on jury duty were hardly terrible. Huge menu, the coffee is passable, and as small as it looks, it truly does seem to be able to accomodate the lunching needs of the entire courthouse. I never saw a huge line, nor was there ever a problem finding a place to sit. Besides, it’s pretty much this, street hot dog vendors, or a long hot walk to Subway. I think this is the best option.

Au on Pain has good sandwiches at decent prices. Their cubano could be better. the pulled pork is juicy, the ham is great but I would not do a cubano on a french roll, it’s just not the same. On the other hand, the prosciutto and mozzarella is awesome and the chicken rosemary is also really good!!! I was in Miami for one week and went to Au Bön Pain at least 3 times because it was inside the doubletree where I went to a convention so I would go there again.

So today I spent the day at jury duty. Lots of waiting around mainly, I wasn’t picked to be on a jury. Luckily I brought a book to help me pass the time. It was also nice that I didn’t have to endure the nasty cafeteria food they serve there, as Au Bön Pain opened a location right in the courthouse. At least at the Civil Court in downtown they have a few good restaurants in the area, but around Jackson there aren’t a whole lot of quality dining options for lunch. So that means that this is really your only option for lunch if you’re going to jury duty. I wouldn’t go to Au Bön Pain if given the option, but it definitely makes for a serviceable meal that’s served quick. They have good sandwiches, fresh salads and wraps and some soups as well. And at the Justice building, they really move fast. The place is well run and efficiently managed.

Thinking I was going to be forced into eating whatever poor cafeteria food that was available, I was pleasantly surprised to find this Au Bön Pain in the Richard E. Gerstein Jurstice Building while serving jury duty. The typical Au Bön Pain fare is served, albeit much more quickly than what I am accustomed to at Au Bön Pain. The restaurant had a nice size, able to accommodate many patrons and is well maintained. Hopefully, I won’t get picked for jury duty, but if I do, at least I know I have a decent place to eat.
