$ 70 for a hair cut and blow dry? WT? What’s this luxury? Charge separate for two things? Insane! In NY is $ 20 – 35 $ MAX … Highlights and color are $ 60 – 75 not a haircut with blow dry! People here are greedy!

Be careful, this salon tends to overbook. I went there to do my hair for an important event and they are not respectful of your time. The main Dominican lady that does hair is nice and does a great job. However, the salon is very messy, there were a bunch of kids running every where, and ½ of the dryers were not working so they switched me to 3 different dryers. If need somewhere for a simple cut and blow dry then this place can work for you. However, they need to improve the overall appearance of the salon and respect people’s time.

My review is elaborate because I realize that things happen. Nothing is perfect and sometimes things go wrong. I did not have a good experience at this place, nor did I feel as if they really cared to make a good impression on a first time customer. I will probably not return. However, that does not mean that you shouldn’t. If you would like more information on why I feel this way, you can read my lengthy review… Today was my first time going to A Flair For Hair. I decided to go to this salon given the wonderful reviews I read on Unilocal. When I researched hair salons I found that A Flair for Hair had 8 reviews, all of which had given the place a 5 star rating. I was very impressed and extremely excited! I called and made an appointment with either Vestella or Belkys, since I had seen their names on the reviews of Unilocal customers. They gave me an appointment in the afternoon which worked perfectly. I arrived 10 mins early and eagerly waited for my turn. The place looked nice. Very big with several hair stylist. The place seemed busy. So far I was very pleased. As I was playing around with my phone to keep myself distracted, I realized I was becoming very bored and had run out of things to do on my phone. I looked at the time and realized it had been 45 mins that I had been waiting for my turn. I was a little nervous thinking that I had not stated my name clearly and they had thought I didn’t show up. So, I politely got up and spoke to the same lady in the front and asked her how much longer would I have to wait. She said that my hair stylist was very busy and it had been a busy day. I said that I understood and would keep waiting. I waited for another 15 mins. At this point I had waited for 1 whole total hour. I started to become very disappointed and impatient. I didn’t want to walk out given that I had invested so much time there. Honestly, I was torn as to what I should do. It could have been an honest«mistake» of scheduling too many people at the same time or not taking in account the length of all the services that needed to be provided to all the previous customers. The lady at the front approached me and said my stylist was busy but she will be done soon. She then asked me if all I needed was a trim and that’s it. I didn’t understand why she would need to ask me that. I feel as though I am paying to not feel rushed out of a service and if I decided I needed more than«just» a trim then I should get it. ONEHOURAND A HALFLATER, I am finally called by a lady who says: who is the girl that is having the trim? I looked at her and said my name, assuming she was talking to me and not anybody else that might have been there to also get a trim. She takes me to wet my hair, which I had already clean and wet(in a bun so it remained damp) since I knew I would be getting a hair cut. However, given that I waited 1.5 hours, it was a little dry at the top. I asked her to please not wash it since I didn’t need a wash. She said she knew but that in order to get a hair cut I need to have wet hair. I agreed. Then I am shown to my stylist, Vestellla. She seemed embarrassed and tired. She softly apologized for the wait. She said there was a lady before me that really need to have her extensions and couldn’t come any other day. Ok, so, I understand that they are trying to be good to their customers. However, I wish the person that scheduled me could have scheduled me for later or called me to change the time. After all, this is my first visit and I would have liked to feel just as valued as this other lady who was scheduled in as an emergency. I explained what I wanted her to do to my hair. It took her 15 mins to complete my haircut. She did not put any product in my hair such as gel or mousse. Luckily, that didn’t upset me since I would prefer that they don’t put any products in my hair after a cut. I decided I would still give her a good tip… Even though I was honestly upset for having waited for so long for a service that was only going to take 15 mins. of her time. As I am walking toward her to give her the tip she is already busy with the next person. Honestly, I expected her to be a little more thankful that I was not mad at her and that I did tip her well. I don’t think she even said thank you after I gave her the money. Perhaps, at this point I am just being a complete bitch and should get over this. But… I am just being honest. I would like to feel a little more welcome and appreciated. Customer service and appreciation are very important on my list. I guess I might have to go elsewhere to find that.

These ladies are awesome. I usually go to a salon on Flagler st. and 84 ave(They are the best) But these ladies reminded me of that. It’s very warm, inviting, and gossip galore. They are mostly Dominicans which although I’m not I love me some Dominican ladies working on my hair. They were awesome. Next time I go I will remember to take a name because I forgot it. But I will definitely be back since its closer to my house then flagler st. Very happy customer.

Awesome salon! My hair was done by Belkys… and my wax and mani-pedi was done by Zaidee… I absolutely loved them both! My husband got his hair cut by Odalys who left him looking hotter than William Levy! OK so I’m exaggerating but it’s a great cut and she’s super nice! All in all it was a great experience. Everyone in the salon was super nice and I got color, cut, style, mani, pedi, eyebrows, and upper lip all in 3 hours. Amazing service and great atmosphere… visit them you won’t be sorry.

I love this place! I found it on a whim after a hairdresser cancelled an appointment with me… I get my hair done with Melania and she’s amazing! This place is really good, all the girls are friendly and it’s easy to make an appointment. Try it, you won’t be dissapointed! I highly recommend. I always walk out as happy as can be.

I always get my hair done by Odalys. She does an EXCEPTIONAL blow dry like no other; and i don’t mean one where it’s mostly ironing to cut the work in half, like most hair dressers do. She straightens my hair soo nice, everyone always asks me who did my hair. Her other best service is highlights. Good old foil highlights, and none of that cap crap to get through my hair faster. She is the ONLY hair dresser that bleached my hair without any damage. She uses the best products, and that salon would be hopeless without her!
