Miami, you are glamorous. I am blinded by your bling. I am suddenly feeling so uncool in my California-​casual threads. Place Vendome to the rescue.
I felt under-​dressed my first night dancing in south beach. So many rhinestones! If you are a tourist, packing light like me, you did not bring a fifty pound diamond-​studded belt to cinch in your hot pants. What is a girl to do?
I window shopped along Ocean drive in south beach and spied the expensive blinged-​out dresses that I had seen at clubs the night before. But i did not bite. When will I wear this again?
On the glamorous Lincoln Road in South beach, an outdoor mall of epic proportion offers everything you need. Restaurants galore and lots of shopping.
Place Vendome had a «Take additional 50% off» sign in front. That is all it takes to win my heart.
I am an average-​sized girl. Not skinny. Not fat. Everything fits. The most important thing to find for me when it comes to clothes is anything that makes me look or feel better about my frame.
Place Vendome offers glitzy but tasteful, glamorous goods. Easy to wear and well fitted. The kind of stuff that I could actually see myself wearing again when I get home to LA.
I tried on a few arms-​worth of frocks and a couple of felt fedoras. I tried to imagine how my outfit would look in the black lights of south beach.
The shoes are gorgeous! My style of funky platform sandals and stilettos. But, unfortunately, they are not real leather and I am done with made-​made-​material shoes that wear out after one spin around the dance floor. Many pairs are over $ 100 here. Don’t do it!
The sales girls were sweet and not at all pushy. The Parisian manager is lovely and let me snap her photo to share with you. Isn’t she pretty?
I bought two medium silk corsets sprinkled with tiny crystals that laced up in the back and clipped in the front. One in jet black and one in ivory. I buy anything that makes me look skinnier than I deserve to look. Trust me, I do not deserve to look as svelte as I do when cinched into one of these babies.

The dresses were a little too form fitting for my taste. I can not imagine showing off my moves on the dance floor in something that I am afraid to bend over in.:-(
But the mini skirts had flair and the little jackets and sweaters are adorable here. Total damage? Two party outfits that make me feel glamorous enough to belong in Miami? Less than $ 100 total.
