Stay away from this hotel at ALL costs! I had the unfortunate experience of staying here for one night during WMC2012 and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Please don’t let the hotel’s cute exterior fool you, this place is a piece of shit. The lobby was small and the large man working the front desk during the day was rude, mean, and completely unprofessional. Never have I felt so unwelcome as a «guest» at a hotel. My friend and I were scrutinized upon arrival, interrogated, and were told that if we had extra people in our room, the front desk would call the cops on us. What the f*&%?? The room we were put in was cramped, dated, and dirty. It was the perfect example of a health code violation on all levels. The floor was filthy. There were two double beds with dusty pillows & sheets. There was a musty closet and a long dresser against the wall facing the two beds that took up WAY too much room. There was a night table and cheap square mirror between the beds and a small flat screen TV above the dresser. The bathroom was incredibly tiny with the toilet paper dispenser being RIGHT next to the trash can. The one square window in the bathroom is untinted so anyone staying in taller buildings nearby can look into your bathroom and see you fumbling around naked. There were yellow stains on the«clean» bath towels and one of them definitely smelled like musty sweat. Also, the walls were thin and you could hear everything that was happening in the hallway. All in all, this hotel was disgusting. If it weren’t for its prime location on Collins Ave. in South Beach, this place would be out of business by now. I hope Beachcomber gets bulldozed soon.

Same story as Jackie, we booked a room for WMC. The pictures looked nice but it was nothing like it. The front is nice, but once you get past teh lobby it is incredibly ugly and muggy. It was like a motel. The cardboard on the beds were soo dirty, they were black on the edges, there were blood stains on my comforter– although clean that is somethng you gotta throw away! the bath rooms were filthy, the floors sticky and ALWAYS dirty. I could not walk barefoot. 3 stars for that place is a JOKE

I stayed here for 2 nights in March 08. This place is so dirty and dreary. It’s my fault that I booked my trip for WMC at the last minute and had slim pickings. On the outside it looks nice and it is in a great location. The hallways were dimly lit and smelled musty. Our room was on the first floor and we could hear our neighbors. The floors are hardwood that haven’t been swept in ages. The people above us would run back and forth in high heels at all hours. Our bathroom vent connected to their bathroom so all the smells from them would pour into our room. It was such a dreary room with worn linens and bad lighting. The sheets didn’t seem clean and there were bugs in the bed. The only thing good about the hotel is its close proximity to La Sandwicherie.

This place is so cute from the outside and then you walk in and it’s set up like a motel — not a hotel The room was so dated I thought I stepped back into the 70s or 80s. Hard wood floors and the bathroom was so old. I felt dirty just staying here, but I quickly realized that 99% of the hotels are like this in Miami unless u shell out the big bucks and stay at the 2 nice hotels. I was duped, hosed, bamboozled by expedia. I travel a lot so I do rely on expedia — which is usually pretty accurate but they missed the ball on this one. Photos to come. The outside of the hotel though is cute. It’s lit up with pretty white lights and the beachcomber sign is lit up in periwinkle blue(one of my favorite colors) and they continually play great house music. At night — we were told we weren’t allowed to sit out here unless we ordered drinks — even tho we were hotel guests. They made such a fuss about it. Also, in the mini fridge — a bottle of water was open and we were charged for it. But they did take it off — but I had to call them about it when I was back in LA.

Sketchy! Super sketchy! The person checking us in told us that they only had one spot left for their«parking lot» and that we better hurry! Being naïve fools, we fell for it. The parking lot is a block away from the hotel and secure. The rooms on the website look nothing like the tiny cramped matchbox they put you in. The bed nearly touches the dresser, it’s incredibly tiny. The location isn’t bad(+1). The hotel inhabitants tend to be college students screaming and stumbling down the hallway after a night on the town. And even if you have a smoke free room, you will still smell the smoke coming in from the lobby and hallways. Never again. I totally felt taken advantage of staying at this hotel.
