So, I spotted this place driving down Washington one day and I had to try it before I left… quick service, I had the Miami heat and it was very tasty but not messy enough for me… the messier the better! Bread pudding has awesome potential but it was cold… so I need to reheat and try later! All in all, I will return probably several times

Mmmmm melty, gooey, delicious gourmet cheesey sammies! I had the Mac Daddy Philly after a night of partying and this just hit the spot. Who could resist a Philly Cheesesteak with some white cheddar truffle mac & cheese?! It was so filling that I could only take down half of it. It was still so delish though! I ordered a fresh brewed passion fruit iced tea as well which I wish I skipped out on since it wasn’t that flavorful. Prices range from about $ 7-$ 10 for all the sandwiches(grilled cheese, cheesesteak, make your own). It’ll be awhile til I’ll get to head back down to SoBe, so hopefully it’ll still be around so I could try some other things on the menu!

Dear melty, gooey, cheesey, deliciousnes, How I love thee. Yours, Blue — I wish I had come here a little more sober, but after a long work day/evening in SoBe — followed by some drinks… we ended up at MLT. Decided on the Mac Daddy Philly. The meat was great. The white cheddar truffel mac and cheese stuffed into the bottom of it is delightful. However, I had my Unilocal App open — of course — and got the check in offer — a small side of white cheddar truffle mac and cheese! It was a little too much truffle for me — but that’s my fault. One serving would of been perfect — either the side or the one stuffed in the sandwich. I plan to visit again and try some of the other menu options. The Southern Philly caught my eye.

I really wanted my first experience to be better at MLT. We have passed by their storefront for almost a year now and today was the day to try something new for lunch. Our order was pretty simple: BBQ Short Rib MLT, Wake & Bacon(substituting cheddar for American cheese & add tomatoes), and a side of fried green tomatoes. The BBQ Short Rib MLT was just OK and could have used more cheese for the nearly $ 10 they charge for it. The fried green tomatoes were really nicely done(thick cut and seasoned breading was perfect) but we got only 3… not even a whole tomatoes’ worth. The worst part of our order was the Wake & Bacon. Even though we made a simple substitution and added tomatoes they completely FORGOT the BACON! How do you do that? It’s part of the sandwich’s name! Just egg, cheese and tomato on challah, such a let down! Next time I crave melted cheese on bread, I’ll fire up the skillet and DIY or even better… track down Ms. Cheezious and make an adventure out of it!

Many different Philly sandwiches to choose from… didn’t know what to try. then I saw the Mac Daddy Philly… white cheddar truffle?! I had to get one!!! I got the chicken Mac Daddy Philly and it was amazing… so cheesy… truffle mac and cheese, chicken, tomatoes… great combination for this melt in your mouth goodness. I also had the krispy kreme dessert, delish!

So, what do you do when you strike out with trying to eat healthy because of bad service, side-eyes and miserable people: you run into the arms of that which will never let you down — cheese. Lots and lots of wonderful, delicious melty cheese. Oh, MLT, I’ve learned my lesson. Save me from the bad bad health food man. Give me greasy cheesy kisses and tell me that everything will be alright. Oh, things are gonna be alright, alright. Well, until you have to run on a treadmill for a week straight or get on some meds to thin your blood. But until that happens, eat and be merry. This isn’t food you can have every day. In fact, save the calories and cholesterol for a special occasion. But when you come here, do it right. As I said, I came at the tail-end of a health kick, so I decided on the veggie melt. That’s healthy… ish. Right? Wow. Not so much. But it is delicious. Toasted whole wheat bread serves as host to melted provolone, mushrooms, spinach, sauteed onions, and roasted red pepper. That’s totally healthy. That’s, like, a garden between two pieces of whole wheat bread… drenched in creamy cheese. [drool] Focus. Must.stay.focused. Even this meatless concoction will take the strength of will of many men to finish, so order a Cheerwine to help the battle. As a soda connoisseur, I’m dismayed to admit that I’d never heard of or sampled the fruity cherry perfection of this fizzy drink. ’twas my first. It won’t be my last. Feeling proud of my healthy choices, I decided to be a bit decadent(at this point, who’s counting… besides my doctor). So, an order of truffle white cheddar fries, it is. At this point, I should be embarrassed. It doesn’t make any sense to consume this many calories at once. BUT. Sometimes it has to be done. And, sometimes, you NEED truffle. white cheddar.cheese.fries. You do. Barely having strength to push away from the table, I remembered to check-in. Oops. The check-in offer? An order of Krispy Kreme bread pudding. Free. Who can resist free isht? I can’t. [weeps] I just… can’t. With arms trembling and mouth agape, I shoveled the sweet bread mixture into my mouth and chewed for all I was worth. I don’t even like bread pudding but this dessert made a convert of me. Then again, when is a Krispy Kreme donut not a good idea? Don’t come to MLT if you watch calories, work out incessantly or want to be functional for six hours after you eat. But, if you have time, calories and bp medicine to spare, come in(once a blue moon) and throw down. You won’t forget or regret the experience. In fact, I’m pretty sure I’ve gained a few pounds just writing this review and I’m okay with that.

First off: best f’in mac n’ cheese I’ve ever had. Received it free for checking in with Unilocal.Amazing flavors, very cheese. The only problem was that its size: it’s essentially a Weight Watchers portion. It’s hard to justify paying $ 5 for it. But it’s amazing. I’m not sure how much the $ 9 portion includes but if it’s enough to fill me up I’d consider getting it as my meal. Price vs. value is a recurring issue I have with this place. While it’s very tasty, it’s also very pricy for what it is. My Philly cheese steak came down to $ 12. I realize now it would have been cheaper to just get one of their menu options already customized. For some reason they charge for the cheese… I got onions, mushrooms, provolone and fried green tomatoes. The FGT were fantastic! Very crunchy, very tangy. As a pseudo-Southernor I approve! They also were very generous, giving me three slices, which was enough to put on the sandwich and eat by themselves. The sandwich filled me up but I kept thinking I should have gone with the one topped my mac and cheese. My sandwich wasn’t too cheesy and the beef didn’t have a flavor to itself(could have used some freshly ground black pepper and garlic); it’s a bit masked by the toppings. The bread wasn’t too impressive; would have been better toasted a bit. The place has a cool vibe. The classic rock soundtrack was great(John Lennon, Pink Floyd, etc). Final Veredict. Philly cheese steak: save it for a real craving. It’s good but not super memorable. Mac and cheese: WOOOOOOOOOWW it’s amazinggggggg holy cooooow

First off, the inside of the restaurant is pretty cool. It’s modern and clean-feeling, and you can watch as they prepare food. The Philly Cheesesteak was excellent. The steak was delicious and the cheese was a big feature, as well. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was a bit of a letdown. On the down-side, when I tried the chicken biscuit, my first thought was«hungry man chicken fried steak.» Not good. The biscuit itself was good, but the fried chicken tasted like it could have been in a TV dinner. Also, and easily the most offensive part of the experience, was the $ 2 canned soda. They don’t offer fountain drinks and then they charged $ 2 for a canned soda that probably has a retail price of $ 0.75. That’s rough. I’d go back for the philly, because it really was darn good, but the rest of the menu needs work. Also, beware, that for two people you’ll easily spend $ 25-$ 30 for what feels like a single step up from fast food.

The concept is simple, the execution is super. I envy the 5 guys(not the burgers) who came up with the idea of Mlt. It’s hard to fail when you specialize in grilled cheese, cheese steaks and mac –n– cheese. It’s pretty much the ultimate recipe for success. During my stay in SoBe this weekend I’ve managed to become quite the regular at Mlt. Unilocalers check-in and get a free sample size mac n cheese btw. I’ve had a few different types of cheese steaks; the classic Philly and the Mac Daddy as well as the BBQ beef sliders. All pretty good. They even offer up fried oreo’s which gives Prime One Twelve a run of their money, literally. 3 oreos for $ 4 or go to Prime and spend $ 15 on 4. Their fried oreo’s come with vanilla dipping sauce and you can even get blondes instead of the OGs. An ultimate late-night snack. I’m a fan of Mlt because it provides a long overdue need in SoBe. It’s a great on-the-go spot that won’t drain your wallet dry. The food is good and considering they have an array of items like chicken and waffles, tuna melts, tomato bisque soup and fried egg breakfast sandwiches to go with their other staples, it’s hard not to find a meal in the day that you couldn’t have here. It’s probably the best cheese steak I’ve had in Miami, definitely SoBe. It’s not the best in South Florida(Direct From Philly) but when have so many other great items, you don’t need to be the best at each one. I would like to see them replace American cheese items with an alternative, preferably cheddar. I’m North Philly born and raised and it’s in our blood to accept the processed cheeses like Cheez Whiz, but American cheese isn’t even real cheese. Anyways, none of it takes away from the experiences I’ve had. I really dig this place and given its surrounding options, it’s going to hit up every time I’m in Miami bitch!

Even after enjoying the amazing mac-n-cheese bar at the Jet Set Fête so many months ago, I’m embarrassed to say I hadn’t sampled any of MLT’s other fare until very recently. There’s no good reason for it, but you better believe that I’ll be frequenting MLT in the future! Let’s start with the mind-boggling selection. So you want a grilled cheese? Don’t worry, MLT has created awesome combos to send your taste buds into overdrive. Or you can create your own mouth-watering combo. How ’bout a cheesesteak? Oh yeah, they’ve got that covered too. Whether your protein of choice is steak or chicken, MLT’s in it to win it. I opted for a create-your-own grilled cheese on egg challah with American and bacon. Simple, but downright delicious! With a side of onion rings and an order of mac-n-cheese to share, and it made for a great and filling meal. The only misfire was the side of tomato«soup» that came with the All-American combo. It was pretty tasteless and definitely disappointed. Prices are incredibly reasonable, considering South Beach’s normal fare. Plus, they deliver! Double-bonus! A great alternative for eats, whether during regular dining hours, or as a late-night alternative to the glut of pizza joints on Washington. MLT rocks!

Oh MLT, why did it take me so long to visit you? Miami was in desperate need for some delicious cheesesteaks, and luckily MLT has filled that void. What I love about MLT is that your food is made to order and you are able to watch the cook make your food. I was speaking to the cook as he made my cheesesteak and he was a really nice guy. He indulged me by answering all of my inane questions and did so with a smile. I got the classic philly with provolone cheese and my mom got the classic philly. My classic philly was great, but I thought it needed more cheese. I had a bite of my moms classic philly and I thought the cheez whiz complemented the cheesesteak better. We also shared an order of truffle fries and fried oreos. I’ve never had fried oreos before so I knew I had to get them. I am so happy I did because they were seriously heavenly. Since I checked in on Unilocal I was able to sample the truffle mac n cheese and it was outstanding. Next time I go, I’m definitely getting an order of it. As I think back I can’t choose which part of my meal I thought was best. Everything tasted exceptionally well. My experience at MLT was great and I can’t wait till I go back again.

Cheese and meat meet mouth. Mouth meet cheese and meat. Drunkenly eating 60 $ worth of cheesesteaks with friends? Yes, this did happen. And yes it was as good as it sounds. Somewhere between the prefectly greasy sandwich and the crispy golden fries was pefectness. MLT is the kinda place you want to go to when you really wanna eat delicious greasy food. They featuing some awesome signature sandiches and some great side dishes. Along with all that is an awesome interior and a perfect place to sit and people watch. TRUSTME. There is nothing like eating a meat filled sandwich while watching people on South Beach. Not to mention they hosted Unilocal’s eat the heat! Definitely check MLT out! PS: GETTHEFRIES!

I felt like I ordered a Whiz, Wit and Peppas. Since leaving South Jersey in 2001, I have been on an endless quest to find a great Philly Cheesesteak south of the Delaware Memorial Bridge. I have tried many, many crappy imitators. The biggest problem I find is that people try to damn hard to mess with perfection. They either over season the steak, or they use the wrong cheese, or they use toasted cuban bread… ITSALLWRONG! MLT has finally created the best Cheesesteak I’ve had since Pat’s and Geno’s Steaks on Passyunk. And maybe I’m crazy, I think this one might be better. For cheesesteak connoisseurs here’s what you need to know, they use Amoroso Rolls shipped from Philly, They use hot Cheez Whiz slathered on the bottom on the roll, and the greese from the steak forms that perfect yellowish green puddle as you eat it. In addition, they use roasted red peppers, even Pat’s and Geno’s uses cheap green peppers. The fries were great too, although they didn’t have their waffle fries when we went which was disappointing. My wife had the short rib grilled cheese and it was pretty good, not as great at the Cheesesteak. And my kids had the fried chicken slider which is also ok. I want to try the other cheesesteaks here, the Miami Heat and the Mac Daddy sound really good.

Unilocal’s «Eat The Heat» event brought me here, but the best cheesesteak, deep fried oreos, blondies, grilled cheeses and cherrywine will keep me coming back! The Miami Heat cheesesteak is spicy but not too hot. Just enough pepper to balance the cheese wiz. The steak was tender and tasty. I dont know what heavenly factory the bread came from but it was perfect. Not to mention the Challah used for the grilled cheese. I love this place. Congrats MLT you have a earned my unwavering appetite.

I’m highly thankful that this place is in South Beach instead of around my house ’cause I would be one fat, cheese-filled little piggy I really enjoy places that keep their menus simple and concentrate on making whatever it is they make as good as they can make it The Miami Heat was awesome and the four-cheese grilled cheese has left me wanting more I got a krispy kreme bread pudding in the fridge waiting for me

So I came in here post-battle. The competition was over, the battleground was still seething over all the pain, and over-worked sweat glands and irritated what-nots. It was Monday, and after all the pictures you fellow Unilocalers posted, I just had to try it. I enlisted the help of two co-workers and we walked, drizzle and all to MLT. I gotta say, small, unassuming place in Washington ave, kitchen right there… I checked in… and score! Nice little bread pudding for mah face. I ordered«The Hangover» Steak, Egg, Bacon, CHEEEZ. All that. Fries. Boom. Key lime mayo. Bam. Sit down. Right there. So many fries. Oh man, I need a nap just thinking about it. These bombs of a sandwich can put an elephant to sleep mang. But they are delicious. I might try the veggie one next time, it’s maybe lighter??? Also, be prepared to smell like a food truck the rest of the day. All in all, cheers to MLT. Might be better on a late night!

So just yesterday, I participated in MLT’s «Eat the Heat» eating competition. Round 1: A nine inch Miami Heat cheese steak topped with white cheddar truffle, roasted red peppers, pepperoncini, and jalapeño peppers. Round 2: A six inch Miami Heat cheese steak with extra peppers. Round 3: ANOTHER six inch Miami Heat cheese steak with even MORE peppers.(Really, this last one might as well have been called a pepper and cheese sandwich.) And I, ladies and gentlemen, emerged victorious. Though really, «victory» is something of a double-edged sword in this case, i.e. I feel like someone punched me in the face. But you know… without sacrifice, we would have so little. I have to say, management at MLT was great in hosting this event, and the cheese steak, considering that I don’t really like peppers and that I was eating like my life depended on it, was pretty fantastic. I’m telling you, it was HANDSDOWN one of the better cheese steaks I’ve ever had. The staff was also handing out free samples of The Big 3, which is comprised of provolone, white cheddar truffle, and fried green tomatoes. Now, I wasn’t able to try this(for obvious reasons), but I’m told it’s spectacular, and it’s on my radar for my next visit. And the one after. And the one after. And the one after that one, too. Seriously, MLT looks to be obsessed with its sandwiches, and any place that puts the kind of attention to detail into its sandwiches that leads it to using white cheddar truffle and BBQ short ribs and fried green tomatoes and rib eye is tops in my book.

I made the trip to SoBe with a single mission in mind. Must try the Miami Heat Cheesesteak. Why, you ask? For the Eat the Heat Competition this upcoming Sunday. If I’m going to be scarfing down sandwiches, I need to PREPARE! And, let’s just keep it real, I wanted to make sure it was good. Who wants to have to inhale a nasty sandwich? The restaurant was cozy and modern. I was loving it. No frou-frou SoBe fancy pants crap here. Works for me. So of course, we ordered The Miami Heat cheesesteak(extra peppers please), The Big 3 grilled cheese, the Wake & Bacon grilled cheese, the Truffle Mac & Cheese and we got our free Krispy Kreme bread pudding for checking in on Unilocal.(SCORE!) We sat down and I watched Joe(the Chef) prepare our sandwiches. They brought the sandwiches over to our table when they were done. I was so excited, I forgot to take pics! *GASP!* All I can say is that The Miami Heat cheesesteak was effin scrumptious! My BF can’t really take much spice so he thought it was too spicy with extra peppers. For me, it was FANTASTIC. The combination of steak, white cheddar truffle and peppers(jalapeño, peperoncini & roasted red peppers) is simple & perfect. The simplicity is almost magical. Can’t wait to try their other cheesesteaks! The babes ordered the Wake & Bacon grilled cheese. This bad boy was friggin DELICIOUS! Again, super simple concept. Your classic breakfast sandwich, really. For me, it’s all about the bread. The sandwich has american cheese, a fried egg(Over easy, of course. But you can order it however you like it.) and bacon on Egg Challah bread. I’ll be honest, I had no idea what«Egg Challah» was. All I know is that it is thick-sliced delicious bread. That’s all I can tell ya. Deal with it. The Truffle Mac & Cheese was good. I’ll be honest though, I had just eaten a whole lot of peppers so my palate was a little«numbed», so to speak. I didn’t taste much cheesy goodness. I will have to try it again with something that isn’t spicy so that I can enjoy it & taste it properly. My BF loved it, though. We dug into that Krispy Kreme bread pudding and it was a little piece of heaven on earth… It was warm, soft and delicious. You can really taste the Krispy Kreme doughnut in there. At this point, we were fully satisfied, but we COULDNOT resist the Fried Oreos.(Original, please. We’ll try the Blondies next time) We ordered these to-go. We drove home in a state of blissful euphoria. We decided to save the extra sandwich for later because we were pretty full. However, we could not resist those Fried Oreos. I was so sad that our vanilla dipping sauce was missing but HOLY-MOLY, these things were UHHHH-MAAAAAZZZZIIIINNNGGGG! Lightly dusted with powdered sugar, perfectly battered… OMG… Just get them. You won’t regret it. Didn’t take long for my BF to open that little paper bag to have a taste of the The Big 3 grilled cheese sandwich. This sandwich comes with provolone, white cheddar truffle and fried green tomatoes on sourdough. Even a little over an hour after leaving SoBe, the sandwich still tasted amazing! That fried green tomato somehow still tasted crisp & fresh after having been battered & fried! How do they do that? Overall, this place is AWESOME! Comfort food with a gourmet twist! What more can you ask for? Can’t wait to try the Classic Philly with that Cheez Whiz! But it may be a while… I’m going on a serious DIET after the competition on Sunday!

Check in with Unilocal and get a bread pudding! We ordered for pick up here on the way to watch a flick in the park. We ordered two cheese steaks one was a classic Philly with provolone. The other was cheese steak with American cheese and bacon. As well as the onion rings. Although I felt it was a little overpriced for cheese steaks.$ 9 – 10 a pop… they were delicious. Damn right great. My wife’s was better than mine but still great. Unfortunately we could’ve done without the onion rings. I didn’t use my bread pudding voucher from Unilocal yet but I will in the future. I love when restaraunts participate with new technology. I’d come back. Yup

I’m CRUSHED… I was too excited to try this place out. But they did just open so maybe there’s hope. Now as your waiting for your order you can see the kitchen in full view(very clean) I noticed the cheese whiz is canned Kraft. Why can’t you make a fresh unique homemade cheese sauce? But I was more upset when I saw the frozen fries. Maybe they cut them fresh but once you freeze them, forget about it. Plus they were undercooked and soooooo salty. So the Philly was good but too salty from the artificial cheese whiz. But the bread and steak were a perfection combination. The bread was soft and fresh. The steak was lean, tasty and very tender. I can eat ranch with everything, literally! Not this ranch, it tasted like the whole dry ranch packet was in my little 2 oz container. I swear I tasted a lot of garlic? The chipotle thousand island dressing was good but too over powering like the ranch. The bread pudding was good. Would of been better if it was hot. For 4 dollars I want more than 3 bites. Service was EXCELLENT. Everyone was super kind and really nice. I will come back and try one of their grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato bisque soup. I would love to give a great updated review. I’m tired of seeing businesses close down on the beach.
