My sisters and I we’re traveling to Miami to visit my brother and staying in the surf side area on north beach. We had gotten in after nine and were hungry. They delivered to us and the pizza was very good very authentic Italian we had the Margherita pizza which was awesome. Definitely a good one

Ordered for delivery — hour and a half later no pizza and no response when I call. Just disappointing and sad.

I LOVE this restaurant. As a local, I’ve come to know the waitstaff and owner and they are all amazing. The food is fresh and authentic Italian. It’s a great spot to grab a bite or go enjoy a soccer match on their projector. Try any of the pizzas, you won’t be disappointed. The pastas are amazing too. When oysters are in season they offer as a special, my fave. A must try in historic Normandy Isle district.

Great dinner. Had a few different pies as well as the spicy sausage spread on homemade bread app. All was very good and very fresh. Service was damn good too. We will be back to try some non pizza items for sure!

I had the pizza delivered, so it was not hot at all. The bacon on the smoked pizza was not fully cooked, pretty sure about that. Delivery was quick and the gentleman that answered the phone was very friendly and courteous.

Pizza are amazing. Crusty and with a lot of flavor. Also Bronzino al sale is GREAT!!! For appetizer I had Tuna tartare and I simply loved it !! Owner Roberto is a perfect host. Save some space for dessert. They are incredible !!! Great wine selection(I had a bottle of sasseo primitivo and it was super). I strongly suggest this restaurant in north beach. Ciao !!!

This is not a place to eat in(noisy, tacky soccer décor), by all means just pick up your pizza and eat it somewhere else. The quality of the pizza dough is good(thin and crispy) and the toppings are above average. My only complaint is the DOP mozzarella which is charged as an extra but the amount that you get is tiny and the quality is not that much higher than regular mozzarella. The owner and most of the staff are real italians and they know their stuff. Definitely a good option for North Beach and Normandy areas.

I was pretty sure that I was going to regret going here, but boy was I pleasantly surprised. Their bread was good, and I didn’t have to ask for olive oil, balsamic vinegar and cheese. They autonomically bring it out which many Italian restaurant don’t do. Their spaghetti with a red sauce was very good. I also enjoyed their bruschetta. Prices are very reasonable and the servers were excellent.

This place was wonderful. Super fresh ingredients. I had the pizza with prosciutto and arugula. It was divine. My fiancé ordered the lasagna which was very well made and delicious. So glad we chose this spot. Service was great. Our server and the owner were very attentive. Will definitely go back when we are in Miami again.

This is the best pizza I have had in Florida. Period. It’s amazing, it’s fresh, you can taste the quality on the first bite. The crust is perfect not at all soggy, a bit of a crunch and actual flavor. We ordered the margherita pizza and it was perfect. The large is good for 2 – 4 people. We also ordered bruschetta it’s 6 dollars for just two but again it’s quality over quantity they are pretty large the bread is perfectly crusty and everything was fresh. I plan on coming back regularly now that we moved down the street so I cannot wait for my next visit.

Gol, I thought it was a Brazilian steakhouse or a sports bar. I’m not sure what it is but it’s decent Italian food and has screens for soccer games, maybe? The weird blue cope of the walls kind of jumps out at you like a themed child’s playroom. There is some kind of sporty theme but we’ve been there twice, both times on a Friday after a music concert at the Normandy fountain and it was packed beyond what they can handle. I don’t think it’s always like this but they seem to be one of the more successful restaurants on Normandy. And they are, not bad, depending on what you order. Pizza and pastas are solid. Fish, salads are ok. The times we’ve been, they’ve been very scattered and seem lost in a fog of too many orders at once. They even let you know how overwhelmed they are. Service is spotty. But… They are nice and accommodating and know that they’re service needs work. The manager is a jolly joker who will see to you personally and try his best. That is always appreciated and goes a long way with me. He’s really making an effort. Wine list and drinks, pretty subpar. Need some decent wines on the menu. I love the downtrodden charm of the Normandy isle area and it feels like there’s a little Renaissance there. The area is known for businesses that turn Over every week(exaggerated for effect) but it seems like many of the sketchy businesses(stores that sell I phone covers and refurbished scooters) are turning over and new restaurants are coming up. People seem to love Gol, hopefully they’ll stay around, Polish up their service, tweak the menu a bit and voila, a new solid neighborhood spot.

I have always ordered from here. For the most part, the pizza is great, when they make your order correct. The rest of the food is ok. I typically just cook my own Italian. It always seems to be a hit or miss with this place. I stopped ordering from the grub hubs and other delivery services because the person making my food dosnt bother to ever read the comments and instructions on my order. So I gave up on that. So, I decided to just order directly from Gol.(I have several times since). Its never an easy process, and quite frankly a hassel. Everytime I order Im always thinking to my self, I really hope they get my order right. When Im placing my order I will tell them exactly what I want, very clear and precise. I am met with responses like huhh? What you mean? I end up having to repeat my self atleast 4 times. My instructions are simple. I just dont have any confidence in this place anymore. Maybe they need to look at hiring people that can take orders correctly while effectively communicating with customers. Sadly, when they ask for my phone # all they have to do is go into my order history and see I always order the same thing. I just dont get the confusion! (Side note) I am always respectful to whomever Im speaking to, and in addition to the delivery charge I always tip over 20%. I would expect this establishment to appreciate my business. Take the fork out cause I am done with this place.

The food is excellent the atmosphere is great. My son love the soccer theme. This is a true hidden secret. The taste of the food is like you are eating in Italy. The pasta is homemade and is to die for and the homemade gelato was excellent. We spent 2 hours there it was so enjoyable.

Fresh and delightful. I oder tiramisu every times when I go out to eat. I just had joe’s stone crab’s tiramisu yesterday, that was unnaturally sweet and not delicious at all. If you are a tiramisu lover, come here. Enjoying some real Italian flavor.

I’d first met Roberto, the owner and manager of Gol, when he was managing a Caribbean resort many years ago. He was the consummate host, able to manage sprawling properties with a deft and personal touch for each guest. When I received an email announcement some months ago that he was launching his own restaurant in Miami, I knew I had to give it a try. Walking in late on a Friday evening, I found Gol still full with less than 30 minutes to closing time. I was warmly greeted, took at seat at the bar, and looked after by Lisbet, ordering an eggplant/zucchini/ricotta pizza which was absolutely perfect. The vegetables were baked to just the right consistency, the crust thin, crisp — yet yielding without cracking to the cut of a knife. Roberto dropped by to have a chat, but was otherwise a blur of motion, checking in on other guests and looking after everything from guest checks to the winding down of the night. I decided to come back the next day, because I could not think of a better place to watch El Clasico — Barcelona playing Real Madrid. This is where Gol really shines! The restaurant was packed, with tables both inside and outside and the bar filled with groups of friends, families, and kids all decked out in their team’s jerseys and watching one of the half-dozen high-resolution screens. Even though most of the guests left after this match, a few of us stuck around to catch the Italian Serie-A, and it was great meeting the local expat community. Absolutely amazing environment, and if I lived in Miami I would happily catch every match here. On my second visit, I decided to get a little more adventurous on the menu, and if you visit don’t overlook the specials of the day. They had an amazing-looking ossobuco, but for lunch I thought lighter fare would be in order. The insalata di frutti di mare(seafood salad) was fresh, exceptional, and a good small meal all by itself. I followed that with the crudaiola pizza, which is actually more of a foccacia covered in arugola, prosciutto, tomatoes, and a liberal helping of buffalo mozzarella. Think of it as a salad with meat and a pizza crust underneath, as it’s cold and refreshing. After the match, I capped that off with a millefoglie pastry made with sweet ricotta cream and drizzled with a sweet orange cream. I can be a pastry traditionalist, but this millefoglie deserves accolades. Gol even has panettone for sale which you can take home for the holidays. There’s really no reason not to visit Gol, unless maybe you’re looking for a quiet and intimate candle-lit date spot. For every other possible occasion — whether to grab a quick and great espresso, to having a pizza or fantastic fresh-cooked Italian meal, or catching a futbol match with a dozen friends — this is the place I’d pick in Miami.

Clyde, mom, and I went to this restaurant for dinner. It’s fairly new, only open since the beginning of February. We were immediately welcomed by a friendly server who escorted us to a table. He gave us menus and told us about the specials. While we were looking at the menus the owner came over and spoke to us. I told him I had come to his restaurant because it had several good reviews on Unilocal. I noticed that they had ravioli bolognese on the menu but no spaghetti bolognese. I asked if I could get spaghetti instead of the ravioli. Our server said that would be okay. Mom ordered spaghetti al pomodoro which was spaghetti with tomato sauce and basil. Clyde ordered lasagna alls bolognese. While we were waiting for our order I asked our server if bread came with our meal. He said it did and immediately brought some crusty Italian bread with both olive oil and butter. The spaghetti was different then I’ve had at other restaurants. The pasta was a little thicker. At first I didn’t think there was enough sauce. Instead of the sauce being on top of the pasta it was mixed in and some was underneath. The pasta was perfectly cooked. The sauce was distributed throughout, but if I ordered this dish again I would ask for a little more sauce. Bolognese is a meat sauce and my order was a little light on the meat. That being said, my dish was delicious. Mom said her spaghetti pomodoro was just fair. I tried her dish and I thought it was very good. Clyde loved his lasagna. Mom and I both tried it and we agreed, it was delicious. I want to go back to order that lasagna. They have many types of wood-fired pizza on the menu. The people at a table near us ordered the pizza and it looked good. The restaurant is attractive. The first thing you’ll notice is the many shades of blue. Their web site says it’s soccer inspired, and that’s obvious. There was even a soccer game playing on their television. It was warm in the restaurant. That may be because sunlight was coming through the windows. Our server put down the blinds behind our table, which helped a little. There have been several restaurants that have failed at this location. I’m hoping this restaurant will be successful. The taste of the food was very good. The serving sizes were a little small, especially the lasagna. I know we’ll be back.

Excellent experience, from the minute I walked through the door! If the goal of Gol is to make us happy, then they certainly scored big last night. The owner, Roberto, greets people with a handshake, remembers their name, and explains the menu. When possible he will personally introduce you to the chef. Great priced Italian food and gourmet pizzas are on the menus. I had a generous portion of meat ravioli in Bolognese sauce with a primavera salad. Both were excellent. This is real Italian food, and unlike the rest of the neighborhood it is made by people from Milan and Sicily. Gol’s wait staff works as a team, so you will feel like every player on the field helps keep your table cared for and your glass filled. Instead of the usual trendy(but so-so quality) brands of wine, Gol’s wines are hand-picked as best in breed for the price. Nero D’avola by the glass is a rare treat to find in a restaurant, and Gol’s was excellent. If you love red wine(not just like it, but LOVE it) treat yourself to a Nero for only $ 6/glass. Like so many other important pleasures in life, an Italian meal builds up to a big finish that makes it worth while… Gol’s nice selection of desserts includes fresh cannoli. You’ll know by the crunch that it was filled by hand just moments before reaching your table with perhaps an espresso or cappuccino. Gol is located across from Chase Bank, near the monument on 71 Street.
