We received the VIP treatment for my wife’s birthday. The food was excellent, great DJ, good vibe, beautiful place. Highly recommend the truffle risotto, and sea bass. The steak tartar as well. Looking forward to another event at Dore.

I just arrived home after visiting this travesty of a restaurant and I am still fuming. The good– the restaurant is absolutely beautiful and located in a posh Ritz-Carlton. The bad– We had to wait 15 minutes to get waters and that was only after we flagged down a bus boy. At that point no waiter asked us how our evening was, what wines we wanted, etc. After another 15 minutes we flagged down a waiter just to have someone take our order. The first two bottles of wine we ordered were unavailable as well as two entrees(Filet Mignon). Who runs out of Filet at a high end restaurant. When our appetizers finally arrived we sent back the gazpacho and tuna carpaccio. The wait staff could not care less. This meal had been previously paid for by a travelzoo promotion($ 100 for $ 200 worth of food). We could not take it anymore and literally left the vouchers on the table and walked out before even getting our entrees and ate upstairs at the Ritz owned restaurant. You could not pay me to step foot in the restaurant again!

Was in Miami for a friends Bachelorette weekend and there was this big Hoop Haa about having dinner at Dore’ and how the food was so Good and how exclusive it was to get in. We were a party of 20 and had reservations for about two weeks for 8:30pm on a Saturday night. We were staying at Lowes and all the ladies met in the lobby and took the short walk as a group to dinner. We arrived and the LARGE Gorgeous BLUE velvet Throne type chairs were very welcoming and everyone wanted to get a picture in them so we spent about 10 minutes snapping photos in the chairs out front. When we walked in the ambiance was amazing, the music was live the crowd was very hip. THEPROBLEMS: We stood around waiting to be seated and after 50 minutes were had to inquire and still wasn’t seated. We waited longer and was finally seated at 11:05pm(which is EXTREMELY too late to eat). We got to our table and our server didn’t come to take our drink orders until 11:30pm and our food orders at 12:15am. Our food arrived at 1:20am and some people food was COLD and others who had HOT food such as myself HATED our food. The food was TASTELESS and cheesy however it was displayed well. I WOULDNEVER go to DORE again for dinner when in Miami, I’ve had WAY better dinner with a great ambiance in Miami at other restaurants. i would only suggest people go there to hang at the Bar which is very live. FOOD = NO which is ashamed considering that this place is in the Ritz-Carlton

I booked through and mentioned that it was for the occasion of our anniversary… Surprisingly when we arrived the place was empty, only one table was taken, so we could chose our place. The lady at the entrance was very friendly and even came back to offer us a glass of champagne after she saw in the reservation that it was our anniversary. We had the chicken satay and the salmon croque-monsieur as tapas, followed by the filet mignon and risotto as main course. The food was very good, the meat could have been a bit more cooked for«medium». We had a Belle Hélèné(pear with chocolate) as dessert, it was excellent and they even put a little text saying Happy 2nd Anniversary on it, which I found extremely attentive. The place remained empty, so we had the full attention of the employees and no noise. The only thing that disturbed me is that they add the 18% gratuity automatically, I like to decide myself how much I would like to give. And I think they need to make the entrance more visible, it’s hard to find and unless you know the place you won’t enter«by chance»… as the restaurant opened in February 2013, they need to get known more to attract more people.

When we arrived, I was pleased to see that the beautiful décor was left intact from the initial design from Evolution. It has a very sexy ambience and the hostess was very welcoming. The staff was all good looking and friendly. I don’t care what anybody says, it is depressing when you go somewhere and have a whole team of not-so-easy-on-the-eyes people taking care of you. Even the management and ownership stopped by the table to check up on us. I was a little unsure about the food since they were still relatively new and had not heard much. The menu did not disappoint. We had the Duck Braseola(one of my favs), corvina crudo, scallops, and papardelle. Needless to say, my experience there was great so I am giving out 5 stars(I don’t do that very often). There is a nice synergy between the service, food, and ambience. Job well done Dore South Beach!

Last week I dined at Dore and really enjoyed the first moment I walked in. The lighting was a bit dark when first entering although it earned its name Dore, which means golden in French, as the textures and unique wall structure of gold leaf-like squares popped and brightened up the main dining area. The music added to the ambiance with a live DJ, who also gave me a Dore 24Karat CD to take home and play in my car. Moving on to the service; there were several bussers and waiters at my attention whenever I needed a re-fill on my water, which I never asked for. I brought my mother who first ordered the Fren(cheese) plate and Goat cheese croquettes(she loves cheese)… and both were mouthwatering. I then ordered the house-made Tortellini Gratin and truffle oil with the melted gratin was silky and flavorful. The Hamachi tar tare with the wasabi caviar was fresh and texturized. Dore’s wine selection is nice and everything was well priced for what seemed to be a more high-end dining experience. I will go back again and most likely bring a date, as it is cozy and warm enough. xoxo.

The atmosphere is to die for !!! The music is live with a great DJ. The food is amazing and it is not just French !!! You can find American dishes as well. I had a Tuna Carpaccio to start with which was yummy and a Lemon Sole to follow. It is not so easy to find a Sole in the menus in South Florida, only few restaurant carries it. It was very delicious!!! My French touch was a Mille Feuille at the end. We had a great night! I would go again…

Very trendy restaurant and it feels special when you walk-in. However, the food was rather disappointing. The bone marrow appetizer started the night off great. The hangar steak, ordered medium, was sooooo chewy. I know it’s not a tender steak to begin with but it was a lot of work to chew through all those pieces. The steak was accompanied by gnocci. The gnocci was crispy on the outside, but underseasoned. The dish was screaming for a veg and maybe a sauce. For dessert, I ordered the apple tart tatin. It took awhile to get to the table. The dessert itself was ok – served with a dollop of whipped cream. The caramelized apples were very very sweet so it needed something to offset it… like a tart ice cream or even vanilla ice cream, which was missing. It was just not a well-composed dish. Unfortunately, a few hours later, I woke up sweaty, clammy, with stomach cramps, and vomited my whole dinner. I wasn’t drinking either. I think it could have been the bone marrow dish, given that I didn’t share that part with anyone else. The other people in my party were fine. It was an expensive dinner and I’m frustrated that it got me sick.

Not a good experience at all. Waiter was not attentive at all. Food was average. Manager was rude and snappy.

My French husband and I were very pleasantly surprised at the satisfying menu selections and superbly delicious courses offered at this South Beach restaurant. The atmosphere in the lounge and dining areas is cozy and sexy with a cabaret vibe(minus the showgirls), and the food is exactly what we have been looking for– chic presentation that actually tastes as good as it looks(portions are plenty and the french deserts are everything you could ever hope for)… a perfect place to start the night out …

Dore has so much potential but service needs improvement and the food requires better execution. We had a reservation for 7 people on Saturday night March 2nd and were first impressed by the décor. The music also adds to the scene so throughout dinner, the venue feels fun and loud and the patrons can get lively near the bar, but don’t expect quality service or quality food. By 11 p.m. the place did start to thin out. We ordered some appetizers such as the steak tartar, foie gras, tomato tart and one bone marrow. While waiting for our appetizers, we wanted to order more cocktails but our waitress was nowhere to be found. I asked a busboy and another waiter for a cocktail menu. Ten minutes went by with no cocktail menu. Our drinks were finally served and I asked again for another cocktail menu. Time kept ticking away. Our appetizers arrived and sadly the waitress forgot the foie gras and ordered two bone marrow dishes instead. That’s not a major problem as they quickly brought out the foie gras later, but it was strange that one of the bone marrow dishes was significantly smaller than the other. Quality control anyone? At this point the cocktail menus still had not arrived, so a member of our group went to the bar to get a cocktail menu. It was at this point that our waitress and another waiter came by with cocktail menus(finally after 15 – 20 minutes of asking!). Should it really be that hard to order a drink? Appetizers were tasty(foie gras was the best one) but not particularly memorable. Sadly, that was the best part of our dining experience. The inexperience by the waitstaff reared its head again when the server had to hold up each entrée and ask who’s dish it was — big telltale sign of an unorganized and untrained waitstaff. All the entrees were disappointing except for the duck. Two of our guests had the flat iron steak and both agreed that the steak was dry and not tender. In fact, the steak was almost room temperature instead of warm. No one wanted to finish the steak because it was that bad. The steak came with gnocchi which tasted more like heavy doughy flour bags instead of the soft delicate pillows I was hoping for. The lamb shank was edible, but it definitely tasted drier than I’m typically used to. One of our friends who cooks a lot told us it tasted like the lamb shank had been pre-cooked way too long. Polenta was thick and could have been lighter to better pair with the lamb. The duck was flavored well and was easily the best dish of the night(but I wonder if it’s because everyone’s dishes were so disappointing). We did see that a lot of people had dessert with sparklers to celebrate birthdays. Since it happened to be a friend’s birthday at the table, we asked the waiter for their chocolate dessert and one sparkler(due to the unorganized waitstaff, we had to ask different people in management instead of just putting in a simple request to our waitress). It was an impressive sparkler, but if only their dessert tasted as good as it looked! The chocolate cake was so dense and uninteresting, and the sugary ball on top tasted like barbed wire. Ugh — major disappointment. On top of that, they still charged us for the birthday chocolate dessert. This wouldn’t have been a problem if the dessert actually tasted delicious. What Dore needs to do is polish up its service issues and really focus on the food. There are much trendier places in Miami Beach with better tasting food for the same price. For a place that serves uninspired dishes made up of the typical modern fare that most restaurants serve, it needs more than just a pretty décor to keep people eating here.

Just dined here on a date. The cocktail menu was impressive and the dirty martinis were spot on. We were paid such attention that it felt«tender» rather than«oppresive», but that could be attributed to the fact that the date was a politician. In any event, we had the lobster/crab cake, scallops, tiger shrimp, and framboise sorbet and a sample of jasmine rice sorbet. The scallops were cooked perfectly and on a bed of leeks with caviar=divine. Tiger shrimp on white beans with romesco=excellent but the shrimp were a bit overcooked. Lobster/crab cake=very good, despite foam in place of typical aoli. Framboise sorbet=must have. Jasmine Rice sorbet was on the sweet side, but lived up to expectation. I would definitely return, sans date.
