Great food. We ordered just about everything. The prawns are a must. We were wildly disappointed with the size of the«whole» snapper, it’s more like a whole baby snapper, head removed. We left so full we could hardly walk. But then again, we go out to dine and eat, so we order to try everything. Bazi ice dessert didn’t tickle my fancy but still cannot wait to return. I didn’t pay but I’m sure we spent $ 300 for two people. With an average white wine.

It is a great place with very tasty food, nice people, and great atmosphere. They don’t have a big menu, so just get whatever u like on the menu since the portion is not big and cross this place off the list and move on and recommend it to your friend. We never ask them if they changes their mine or not, if not we will not go back since there are a lots places for us to try.

Two incidents happened to me at Bazi that will make me not want to go back: –ambiance: the music was so loud it irritated me. It was my mistake to not have noticed it would and stay through dinner. I should have left when I had the chance. — service: our waiter was great but the guy who served our wine poured huge 7 – 8 ounce servings in our class which is one of the rudest things you can do. Funnily enough, the same two things happened to me the following week at a restaurant owned by the same owners as Bazi. One would think its a a management recommendation to try to push as much wine as possible, by pouring the entire bottle into the glasses. The food was very nice though, but the place is definitely not for me.

Delish! Great service! All the dishes are me to to be shared. We loved the cruncy tuna, hamachi, and the steamed buns.

My friend and I dined at BaZi early on NYE. She had been before and raved about it. Her rave review was deserved. We had a wonderful time. Firstly, the service was top notch. Both our server and busser were friendly and on top of it. Everything we ate and drink was delicious. I think NYE can be a hard night to dine out. BaZi was on top of their game. The DJ was even spinning some fantastic tunes. Great NYE! I’ll definitely go back before I move to LA next month.

Not as good as I wanted it to be. If I could give a rating for just the starters, I’d give 5 stars. The pork buns, gyoza, chicken pancakes were all 5 star. The crispy rice was the only starter that wasn’t top notch(good, but just not as good as so many of the other places you can get this such as Nobu, Tao, koi etc) Unfortunately, the entrees were downhill from there — and also limited in options. Only 1 chicken dish and it was terribly flavorless. The noodles and fried rice were both good, but nothing more than just good, and of a caliber that you could find at many good restaurants. Ambiance was cool and service was not bad. Their sister restaurant Machialina was far superior — gave that one a 5 star review. Bazi has great potential but needs to expand their entrée offerings and kick them up a notch to the level of their starters

4.5−5 stars. The service here is IMPECCABLE. Came here for a NYE dinner and I had a great time. We ordered the prosecco and I had the unfortunate clumsiness to knock my cup over halfway through the dinner. The staff moved like lightening speed to clean everything up and our waiter reassured us that it was completely fine. He refilled my glass at no extra charge and even joked about a time he spilled something. He was also very good about explaining things on he menu and checking in on us without being overbearing. The food was exquisite: Asian fusion at its finest. We opted for the bun starter, duck dan dan noodles, and snapper. Surprisingly this turned out to be a LOT of food and we were stuffed by the end of the meal. The buns absolutely melted in your mouth: the buns were perfectly soft and complemented the meat and cucumber stuffing. The duck Dan Dan was a mixture of peanutty and spicy-a little reminiscent of Thai food. The snapper was delicious-so tender and well seasoned. The only thing that I would say is that the food was a tad bit salty, but definitely nothing that took away from the experience! The other thing that was really cool was that the vibe was super chic and trendy without being pretentious. Great place for a date!

STRONGATTEMPT, BUTUNFORTUNATELYAVERAGE. +we are learning that any restaurant on Miami beach is usually going to be $ 100 – 150 for two people and somewhat forgettable. + BaZi’s ambience is wonderful. Sit outside. It’s warmer — inside was about 62 degrees. + Serving staff is warm, nice and work very hard, but they are inconsistent. Forgetting to refill water, bringing dishes at random times, forgetting what you ordered — or if you had more food coming. Pauses between courses were far too long. + mojito was not good at all. Borderline gas station quality. + starters were fresh, simple and the best part of the meal. + entrees were average. Vegetables were cooked in lots of butter and salt to compensate for lack of flavor. + we skipped dessert. For all the reasons listed above.

Beautiful restaurant, great food, nice cocktails and wine list, what’s not to like. We decided to go for all small plates including crispy tuna, sashimi, steamed buns, Cantonese shrimp, scallion pancake, etc. and everything was excellent with big flavors. It was a bit quiet on a Sunday night which is not unexpected(especially for a new restaurant) but the service was great and everything was well paced. Can’t go wrong with good Asian fusion in a beautiful space. Somebody put a bunch of money into Bazi and it seems they are hopefully here to stay.

3.5, but rounding up. Being a big Chef Pirolo fan, I was quick to scoop up this reservation within a couple of weeks of opening. You won’t find any pasta on this new Asian concept restaurant though, sorry to disappoint. The restaurant space is not very big; seating is somewhat limited. If you came before when it was MIX(good riddance), you will find the same layout and only a change in the fabrics and color palette. It’s much darker and sexier now. There’s a small bar right when you walk in and then you take several steps down to enter the restaurant. Upstairs, they still have a private party area it seems. An unexpected treat? The music. There seemed a nice mix of every genre, mostly all upbeat. Was that really Planet Patrol I heard on the way out? Sweet! THEFOOD CRISPYTUNA Bazi rice, spicy mayo, and chives/ Very good, would order again EDAMAMEDUMPLING sweet & sour shallots, velvet mushrooms, pea greens/ LOVED these. This one will be one of their signature dishes for sure. WHOLECRISPYISLAMORADASNAPPER sweet soy, pickled green papaya, lettuce wraps/ It’s the entire fish, but already deboned and separated for you to easily create wraps with the lettuce. VERYGOOD. Apparently it sells out quickly so you might want to call and reserve yours… or so I heard. Another signature dish. 22oz GRASSFEDRIBEYE miso butter, white soy, grapefruit salt/ Hearty and cooked a little rarer than I wanted, but very good. BAZIRICE togarashi, poached egg/ Loved this! I would definitively add the skirt steak option they offer GRILLEDCORN ichmi, lime, butter/ GREAT! KEYLIMEHALOHALO raspberry gelee, leche de flan, coconut jelly, and sweet red beans/No. Just, no. None of these components gel together. At least, I didn’t enjoy it. The flan alone was actually really good, but really disliked the rest. My friend and I also mentioned to the waiter that«leche de flan» is a typo, but he just laughed it off. Unless this meant the dessert has«flan-flavored milk,» it should read differently. It’s also not«milk flan» because milk is a main ingredient in flan. Must change. BAZIICE pineapple rum ice, guava sauce, mint custard, kiwi, white chocolate puffed rice/Excited about the guava sauce on this dessert, I requested some extra on it or on the side. Didn’t get it. Instead, got another disjointed dessert topped with a Friday’s type portion of whipped cream(or something like it) and four small guava dollops, and wait for it… WITH A CHERRYONTOP. FORTUNECOOKIE I love me a sweet and fun fortune cookie, and this one certainly delivered, but it was stale. Too bad. Conclusion: solid food(and why I’m rounding up to 4 stars), but must fix the dessert situation ASAP. I get the feel of what they were going for, but it wasn’t executed right. That said, I really enjoyed the rest of the food. Even more special? There are many items on the menu I’m still intrigued to try. Other notes: — The restaurant has their own boat to make sure their seafood is as fresh as can be. — They offer a Peking Duck for Two served three ways. Will try that soon. — There’s also a Chef’s Tasting Menu option for $ 70 pp. Initially, they brought out the wrong fish(something that wasn’t even on the menu), but they corrected it right away once we notified them. Service was phenomenal all around. Management made sure to check in on us often. Water was always refilled promptly and napkins were refolded within seconds of one walking away. Giving this one a little bit of time to mature before I return, but I WILLBEBACK.

Incredible! If anyone thinks this is comparable to Chinese takeout, they really don’t know top quality Asian fusion cuisine, let alone know what that is. :-) The flavors are very well-paired, from food to cocktail. The atmosphere is highly sophisticated, yet cozy. Miami Beach has needed this. We stopped by during Art Basel weekend, and, despite the massive crowd, the staff didn’t bat an eye. Service was on-point and timely, with other servers and management helping out as necessary. Everyone was highly professional, topped off with absolutely beautiful presentations of food. Some of the foods we tried were the Edamame Dumplings, Crispy Tuna, Wahoo and Blood Orange, Steamed Buns with Short Ribs, Mustard Miso Chicken, Short Rib Chow Fun, Bazi Rice, and Emoki Mushrooms. My favorite was a tie between the Crispy Tuna and the Short Rib Chow Fun. My least favorite was the Mustard Miso Chicken… but only because the dish had no mustard flavor, and the chicken had no salty flavor to cut through the spinach if paired together in a bite. Minor detail but it would enhance the dish incredibly. I would come back here in a heartbeat. Highly recommend for a date night(ask for the back table) or a larger group.

This place is a gem. Their dishes are made with extreme care and attention. Flavors are well harmonized to say the least. Duck melts in your palate. Service is excellent. Ambiance is elegant and modern. Edison bulbs light up the dining room and so are the candles placed in glass containers. The drinks are lavishly delicious.

Came here on Friday with a friend because we saw Bazi mentioned in an article about up and coming Asian fusion restaurants in Miami! I was pretty excited to eat some good food in an upscale restaurant after a long week of studying. But anyways, let’s get to the food! My friend and I decided to each order an appetizer and an entrée. He ordered the pork belly buns and I ordered the gyoza. Both were ABSOLUTELY delicious. I have to say the gyoza were perfectly done and the sauce that came with it was just the right amount of spicy. The pork belly buns had the perfect balance of meat, cucumber, and bun so it wasn’t too bready or too meaty. For our entrees, I ordered the duck udon and my friend ordered the grouper. The duck udon was amazing. It was extremely flavorful and it was made with mushrooms and bonito. My friend was fascinated that the bonito flakes moved. LOL. At first, I thought the dish was rather small but it turned out to be surprisingly filling. My friend’s grouper came in a nicely wrapped bag which I had never seen before. The broth that it came in was amazing(a little sour and a little salty). So good. The service was great in the beginning. The waiter was really attentive and nice and he definitely struck up some good conversations. However, towards the end of the meal, service got a tiny bit slow but it wasn’t horrible. Overall great experience. I might come back when I get the chance!

Cozy, on trend, restaurant in South Beach that not only has amazing food(the best lychee martini that isn’t too sweet) but also has great service. I’ll keep this short, but simple. The food(in list of deliciousness in descending order): 1. Grouper: they cook it in a bag, cut it open and pour marinade at the table(melts in your mouth and reminds me of orange roughy/mild fish flavor profile); 2. Papaya Salad: it comes out in a fried tempura like rice shell that is cracked open and serves as a crunchy croûton; 3. Spicy tuna: basic spicy tuna over tempura fried rice done really well; 4. Enoki mushrooms: table favorite and amazing, but it was a little rich for my taste, paired really well with the grouper; and 5. Edamame dumplings: decent, our least favorite because we don’t really like cheese and prefer more of a edamame and mushroom profile. The service: the hostess greeted and seated us immediately. Our server, Neil, was friendly and had solid recommendations for food and alcohol pairings. We also appreciated the pacing of the food to the table and presentation. The general manager, Justin, even stopped back to ask about our dinner. They asked for our feedback and we casually mentioned not loving the edamame dumplings because we weren’t expecting the cheese and they took it off our bill! Let me be clear, most people will probably love these dumplings. They weren’t bad. I just really love the flavor profile of edamame and mushroom over cheese.

I wish we could do 7 stars! These people have it going on. Wow, what a concept: an amazing room with great mood lighting and exceptional food… wait…mind altering… palate pleasures! All the while, the mixologist is cooking up drinks like Breaking Bad! Holy ship, turn this raft around! Michael is a pro, can I use another exclamation point again? Gastro-blasto in all the right ways. This is the bottom line with a place like this, ITPASSEDTHEDARTTEST, you can throw a dart at the menu and be extremely happy! That is the measure of a good EXPERIENCE and the chef. Thanks for making our night. Tip: if you like cocktails, get the White Marlin up or ask for the Last Call with Navy Gin… trust!

Ambiance– A+ Food– A+ Service– our waiter seemed a little condescending towards us. He had a mocking grin the whole time. We ordered the crispy tuna, the short rib buns, a new chicken entrée, and yellow miso noodles. Cocktails– the white marlin and the old fashioned, both fantastic Definitely don’t miss out on the short rib buns they were delicious!

What an experience! It’s all starts when you walk into the quaint lobby — a beautiful Host greets you under the most amazing Art Deco inspired chandelier! And the journey begins… The signature drinks are inspired with Asian herbs and look as great as they taste. About the menu… You must pace yourself … Everything is spectacular! Come with a group of friends so you can share a couple of appetizers and a couple of entrees. So obsessed! Went on Thursday going back this week! Friday night. Make reservations this place is hot n gorg!

I absolutely LOVE BaZi. I lived in Japan for several years, and have travelled extensively in Asia. Bazi brings back amazing memories. The space is beautiful, hip, and intimate. Definitely try the edamame dumplings, pork belly gyoza, papaya salad, enoki mushroom, ribeye and THEDUCK. Bazi also offers gong fu tea service which is prepared table side. It’s meant to be sipped during your meal and pairs nicely with wine and sake.

I recently had dinner at Bazi for the first time and absolutely loved it. Miami is always opening new restaurants but its been ages since we’ve had a truly one of a kind high end Asian restaurant open in the area. Bazi is exactly what South Beach needed. The décor was moody, unique and beautiful. I loved the large chandelier hanging by the entrance. I also really liked that they had a cozy upstairs dining area overlooking the restaurant. I ordered the edamame dumplings and pork gyoza appetizers. They were both delicious. For the entrée, I had the lobster, which was absolutely mouthwatering. I highly recommend having dinner here and if you get carried away with their drinks you can always stay upstairs in the hotel ;)
