Great décor, ritzy looking place. No dance floor though, just high priced tables and high priced booze. Go if you have a rich friend paying, otherwise skip it. So many better places to go where you can have a good time and shake your ass, this is not one of them.

In terms of Miami nightclubs, this is my least favorite, but it’s probably one of the most beautiful. Sigh. It was a Sunday last August, a few celeb appearances; whatever. We had a table, yet we were made to wait outside(my two girls and I). It was drizzling, and naturally, this was getting a bit annoying for my friends who spent the last 30mins fogging up my bathroom mirror to beach-wave curl their hair. There is big barrage of people trying to be let in, no structure to a line up for ushering anyone in, and for some odd reason no one is tending to them. Majority women and the men are either walking off, or idly standing by. I’m standing near the door and I call someone else over, tell him who I am and that I have a table. He starts on this talk about the time(It was 12 or so), and how we should have been there earlier. You have got to be kidding me, these door men really have all the nerve! So I text the guy who I got the reservations with again, tell him I’m outside, then call him and he comes out to my rescue. I had made fast friends with some foreign girls in line from England and I asked him to bring them in — I forgot how much cover was. Here’s the dagger: I got inside and it was pretty much EMPTY!!! VIPs were empty, save for one section(late 30s, early 40s couple who left within the hour). Unbelievable. The DJ wasn’t good for about an hour and a half. The drinks were overpriced(which I expected) but not particularly good either. By the time the night got good, music and all, it had been hrs and my friends sat down A LOT and eventually didn’t dance at all. You know when you have to start asking if they’re okay, when they haven’t drank much of anything, the night is shot. Curtain call, call me a cab. It had to be 2am before I spotted an attractive man. I have a feeling they don’t let men into this place, ladies. In one section, this(promoter) guy brought in a crew of about 15 girls — same look, height, most likely collegiate(fast/video girl looks). Is there not a table limit? I know women outnumber men in the world but DAMN… it was all girls in that place, the same«type» too. Was trying something different this trip, as opposed to Liv, but I might have to stick to what I know.

A root canal would have been more fun. We had a lot of options for Urban Beach Week, but for whatever reason decided to go with the Kevin Hart hosted party running from 11pm-5am. To avoid the line, show loyalty, and guarantee a spot, we bought tickets online. First things first, we showed up «late» at midnight and saw arguably the biggest cluster you can imagine. It looked like FEMA was handing out rations and people were begging for anything. No coordination, no line, no sense of being an adult here. After asking where to go for«prepaid tickets», we were told to stay«right here»…2 minutes later someone different decided he didn’t like what was happening and demanded everyone get in a line. 5 minutes later another individual asked all prepaid folks to start another line. I’ll add that at this point, the bouncer yelled, «if you want to get in now, it’s $ 100.» I spoke to a couple that had been there since 1030pm and they went in 5mins before we did :-( There is probably a reason most of these folks are working here… I question if they even graduated high school, as simple tasks seem to escape them. As for those thinking, «you must not be beautiful enough»…we’re attractive enough(7⁄8) and were dressed Miami Chic. Considering the ratchets and hood rats here, we were in another league… but keep reading… After standing in line for 30mins, even though we prepaid, and for no reason, we were allowed in. I actually thought with such a cluster outside, how could they be relied on to even have our prepaid reservation– luckily, they had it and we walked past with little effort. When we got into the grand club– it was very cool, but with all of 50 people in there. Let’s recap– we didn’t get in until 130am for a party starting at 11pm, and the bouncers were now demanding an upcharge of $ 100 to get in(we paid $ 30). It’s all perception and if you frequent this place after the BS they pull– you’re a sad person. After getting two $ 9 coronas and a $ 20 shot of Patron(!!!), we decided to camp out by the«stage» and wait for Kevin Hart. They include a tip for themselves well in excess of 20%- so don’t tip. Kevin had finally found his way into the club around 3am… even though he was«hosting» this party… and didn’t say one word to the crowd. He simply stayed in the VIP section and did whatever he did(he’s so short, we never caught a glimpse). At 4am, we decided to go since we were so let down. Considering his name was on the billboard and he was the host, you’d think at a minimum he’d be a lot earlier and would grab the mic and say, «Hi!» I guess not… The entire reason we chose this party was because of him– we could have hit YMCMB or DJ Khaled’s party. I’m sure they showed up. Bamboo, you swindled us out of our money and we will never again give you a try. I can only hope one Unilocal reader reads this and decides not to hit you up. Additionally, Kevin Hart has lost some fans. By the way, there is a $ 100 minimum to run your credit card, so don’t expect to grab a drink and swipe. Minimum bottle service was $ 350/bottle(Absolute/Ciroc), but to get an actual seat it was a 2 bottle minimum. Worst. Club. Ever.

This club is the worst club in South Beach. It’s dirty, the people that go there are not upscale and the owners must be blind or frankly just stupid to not realize what’s going on. I believe this club would do better in West Virginia. Step up or get out of Miami STAT. Repulsive !

went to miami, fl to celeb my 40th and boy was this a bad selection of club to visit. 1st they are picking & screen who comes in when so, if your not a local regular or a celebrity you will be waiting to get in & not in 1 line 2nd they charge what they want depending on how much they think they can squeeze out of you.(ex: some guys coming out warned us & they were on some who big spending? and they charged him $ 80 just to get in) while they charged my son $ 60 and women $ 20. 3rd party goers do not dance because, this place caters more to the men due to the go-go dancers prancing around. 4th some party goers are rude, arrogant, and stuck up. 5th club lets folks in vip section stand up in white sofa’s which is absolutely the craziest crap i ever seen. who lets there customer ruin there furniture by wasting alcohol on their white sofas & stand up in sofas causing wholes & staining on their sofa’s 6st noticed party goers don’t really buy cocktails & i quickly found out why! my experience: was the worst clubbing experience i have ever ever ever had in my life! ordered my usual, a lemon drop martini & my girl a sex on the beach. 2 simple drinks u would think… right!!! think again!!! upon paying we expect to pay about $ 12 – 14 for our cocktails well, how about we were charged $ 39 for those 2 drinks which included a 23% service charge! my girl questioned this because, the service offered was horrible! and to add insult to injury… the drinks were awful! ½ way through my drink i noticed a hair not only in my glass but, it came up through the straw of my lemon drop. then when i pulled the straw up out the drink… guess what was else? the hair was wrapped & tangled up around the lemon dropped in martini! talking about gross out!!! i was in awhhh & immediately went to a diff– bar to show the waitress my findings. and if that didnt top the cake… get ready for this! the waitress made me another lemon drop ok cool but, after looking in the drink, as she sled the drink to me… i noticed black particles floating around on top. after i pointed this out to the waitress, she said«oh thats from lemons!» then she attempted to sope up the black pieces. i touched the waitress hand & signaled for her to stop! i said can i just get a coconut ciroc on the rocks!!! she gladly honored my 3rd request. frankly, i dont see how this place is in business but when charging almost $ 100 entrance fee… i do see how there able to stay in business but, how the heck they have a liquor license is a whole nother thing! i would hate to see this place inspection reports!!! i am normally not hard on places but, this place deserves nothing more than a –5 and yes i said negative 5 star so, they owe me! as u can see from the no stars, i strongly do not recommend this as a club to visit while in miami! next… Unilocal…yelp!

I had one night out in Miami and my friends brought me here. Bamboo did not disappoint. This place is a club. It’s not easy to get into and if you ever pull a club and IT is easy to get into, ask yourself a question. I, fortunately, am in the graces of people who know management and promotional staff, so we got right in, and had the best damn table in the place! This place was beautiful, coming from Vegas, I have very HIGH expectations as to what a club should look and feel like. Bamboo is Vegas quality. Bamboo looks like it has occupied the space of an old theater. The DJ was set up towards the back wall, their was a enormous crystal chandelier that really was the thing that stood out to me the most. Service was outstanding. The club wasn’t overly large, which is nice when you’re not too familiar with a place. There was plenty of space to dance, up front by the DJ and in front of the bar. The crowd was a bit more mature, not a lot of young noobs, but people in their late 20s, 30s, and 40s. The sound system was awesome, the lazers were on point, and the confetti and the foam were blasted at the right time. The cost for drinks were on par with Vegas, but bottle prices were way cheaper. $ 475 for a bottle of Grey Goose, good luck finding that in Vegas, let alone on a Saturday night. Bamboo, I am impressed and I will be back to shake what my momma gave me!

There are only two surefire ways to get into a nightclub in MIami or Los Angeles, be totally hot, or get a bottle. Of course, you’ll know which way I roll. But unfortunately, I was with a guy friend and they actually wanted to charge me admission as a result. At a nightclub. I was like, no way. But whatever, he paid since it is technically his fault. This is a club for people who can’t dance since there is no dance floor and 95% of the space is reserved and corded off for those who have bottle service. So if you are just ordering drinks at the bar, you are 1) not rollin’ with Treyz Songs, and 2) only have a 20 square foot area to stand in at Bamboo. I had to go to the front and get someone to give me a VIP stamp in order to get into the bottle service area. Ridiculous. That’s the thing I miss about LA, none of that VIP area bullshit. If you got in, then you are good to go. It’s a democracy in there. May the hottest people win. But Miami is still under a caste system. And they allow indoor smoking. Thank you for reminding me how much fun it is to hand wash my clubbing dresses. The dancers they hire are phenomenal and have the energy of a supernova on cocaine. They danced enough for all the inanimate people in the club. And I met some cool people. One group went through 5 bottles of grey goose and even with my valiant effort, could not finish the last bottle. It’s the effort that counts I guess.

Great place. Beautiful interior, beautiful people, amazing club. This is what a nightclub should be like. The dancers blew us away!!! So talented. The lazer guy was pretty cool, too. Nightclubs could take a lesson from Bamboo. Only drawback was the air con was a bit cold for us. But that’s only a minor issue. Keep it up! We’ll be back.

I would have given the venue 2.5 stars if that would have been an option, based on the aesthetics of the venue. Unfortunately, like every other club in Miami Beach, the staff is usually shady and they treat you as if they are doing you a favor and no patron is worth not their time. yeah ok Well, this being the service industry you’d think that you’d have an opportunity to tip them according to their service, well not at Bamboo. They already include the 23% service charge that they think they deserve. The best part? they don’t tell you ANYTHING! for the record we were a party of 3. So be in the look out for their tipping policy, which since they have already taken the liberty to set that for you, don’t worry about tipping in cash every time you approach the bar. Then you have the bartenders, who I guess are good at what they are doing(serving drinks) since their intellect is non-existent. Twice I ordered by name brand and twice she poured the wrong thing, although I am sure she was trying to upsell, since I had ordered Absolut and she poured Grey Goose which I happen to hate. Grey Goose is far more expensive and they pour less. When I approached the bartender about it, she said«they had ran out of Absolut» when I told her that the other young lady at the other end of the bar, had just served me some, she walked over and magically found a brand new bottle of Absolut. Don’t get me wrong, the place is breath taking, and although there is no dance floor the sound system is top of the line. As far as having ethical business practices, I’d say they have no idea on what that means. My suggestion, if you do decide to go, ask for a receipt each time, do not open a tab, watch the bartender prepare your order and enjoy, or at least try to.

As a local(or even traveler), two things that can really turn myself and others off from the scene… pretentious door staff and overly(way overly) priced drinks. I get it. It’s a South Beach thing. But at Bamboo… just unnecessary. I’m not going to get into the breakdown for certain drinks. Let’s just say a bottle of water costs $ 10. $ 10?!! And there were no diamonds with this water, lol. The place seems to make its $$$ focusing just on bottle service. If you’re not with a group of people who are forking out $$$ for a table/bottle service, you don’t need to be there. It’s lined with booths with bottle service… so if you’re there to party, dance and grab a few drinks you’ll be looking at them. smh. I guess this is why there is NO dancefloor really. It’s just walkways to the bar by the DJ or to the VIP areas. There’s a bar at the back(when you walk in) but that’s it… no one is usually there, unless they’re getting a drink. Admission for guys was $ 30, while I got in complimentary… maybe because I’m a female… or because I was with a friend who was going to a table. Give other establishments who respect your wallet the business.

Nice club, with great staff. Everyone was friendly aside from some of the foreigners, but this is an Opium group club, and that’s what you get in south beach. I would only go here if the DJ was great, or you had a group and got a table. There is virtually no room to dance without bottle service. It still wasn’t bad at all, it just wasn’t great. If you keep bringing in the good talent, I’ll be back for sure.

Let me start with the positive: This place has awesome décor and has extremely high energy and awesome music. They even have live dancers. The atmosphere is excellent. Now the negatives: Prices are a complete ripoff. Doormen are pretentious assholes. I am a local and don’t pay a cover charge at most places because I’m extremely well dressed. The first two times I was here the doorman with the long blonde hair(a fellow suit affiicionado) let me in with no cover. Well apparently he doesn’t work here anymore and the next three times i have had to pay a cover even coming in with girls. Make your own judgement but I wont be here again anytime soon. Learn how to treat locals and stop catering to the europeans and tourists and maybe i’ll come back… Until then I’ll be spending my money elsewhere

Ok people, this is nightclubbing at its best! This place is hands down AWESOME. Its located in an old movie theater, and inside it is absolutely gorgeous! Upon walking in, there is a big fat gold Buddha statue that immediately lets you know, this is not your ordinary run of the mill nightclub. As you walk farther in, the club opens up to mostly VIP tables and sections. What I really like about this layout is that the openness of the tables and couches keeps it very easy to socialize with other tables and make new friends. What makes Bamboo different then most nightclubs is the level of entertainment it provides. On top of being a nightclub, they actually put on a fantastic show of synchronized dancing and aerial acrobatics worthy of a cirque de soleil show. An open catwalk runs the middle of the nightclub and at the end of the catwalk to the far back is a stage with huge video screens. The DJ sits at the end of the catwalk upon the stage playing hypnotic dance beats all night long. Bamboo isn’t just a nightclub, its an experience. Its reminiscent of a Vegas night club, only better and minus the trash. Bamboo is upscale, and I didn’t feel overly old for a girl in my early 30’s being there! My only complaint about this place is that it is VERY expensive. 3 glasses of champaign came to $ 67. Easily plan on spending $ 20 or more for a drink. However if your a decent looking female, with a group of girls the gentlemen are very friendly and more than willing to share there bottles. Guys, not sure what to tell you other than be prepared to drop a ton of money here! Hey, its what you pay to party with the beautiful people at one of the most popular and elite nightclubs in Miami!

April 2012: We went to BAMBOO«soft VIP opening» and were completely smitten with décor. It is simply magnificent; just the enormous chandelier was absolutely mesmerizing! However it was obviously not promoted correctly; there were no «key people» who usually«drive» club scene in South Beach. No promoters were working the tables with their lanky crew of models, no… tables period! We were the first one and then two more nestled next to us, as probably for the fear they would get lost in this huge space. BAMBOOOWNERS! If u r reading this — GETYOURACTTOGETHERSOON, as u will loose this beauty to this unforgiving city! Building amazing club here is not enough, you MUST get promoters, publicity stunts or ATLEAST your website finished! Get on it, we want you to make it!

Every club has a shelf life, right now I am loving Bamboo, came here on a Tuesday night to celebrate my birthday. Let. Me write again, TUESDAY night, place was packed! ! Love the big Buddha head right in the entrance, I felt in love with the chandeliers ;) and I also like how the VIP tables are designed . Dj was playing great music, hip hop first than towards 3 pm house music. Saw lots of beautiful woman well dressed and off course to follow the ladies, lots of guys too. Bottles kept on coming thru the night … Eventually I left my table and went to the bar, love the bar a well . I will definitely come back here again, if a Tuesday night was good I wonder how a Saturday night will be. ;)

This is by far the nicest club in South Beach right now. We went all over the place, and this one blew us away. Its south beach, the drinks are expensive. You will likely have to pay a cover. You have to dress up. You should have girl(s) with you. The girls should also be dressed up. We went on a Tuesday, and it really was my favorite night, even over the weekend nights. Music was great, the performers were awesome, the bartenders are very good, and the people are fun.

The aesthetics at Bamboo are amazing! However, I would say that the layout leaves much to be desired. Unless you partake in bottle service there isn’t much space for you to really party. So be sure to find a promoter that can get you in. The waitresses in the VIP section are fantastic and very attentive… I’m not sure how the bartenders waiting on the general crowds are. There was a stage show that happened while we were there and the awesomeness of the show earned Bamboo another star. I was thoroughly impressed by the dancers and the DJ! We were stuck next to a party where EVERYONE was smoking… I’m from DC and smoking isn’t allowed inside clubs and I will say that Miami should take a hint from DC and ban the indoor smoking as well!

So this place went from 1 star to three stars. The doorman actually(there were two and this one was different from the first one) shook my fiances hand and let us in immediately. This was a nice gesture and as we saw advertisements for tonight as their«opening night» we figured, let’s give this place ONE last try. So we go inside and the back bar is fully stocked… wow what a plus! Completely different from what we saw before. We ordered two drinks and they were very mediocre. The entire ambiance is very off as the patrons who walk into Bamboo & do not get table service are like forced to stand by the bar and just watch over the entire crowd. When no one buys bottles at Bamboo, the entire VIP is EMPTY and people are forced to look over empty space. It looks sooo off as there is no interaction with the crowd and VIP space. Mind you we came here at close to 1:00am so this place should be full. There wasn’t really even a lot of people outside at all. For a clubs«grand opening» it should have been PACKED. The people waiting outside of Mynt which is a much smaller venue were 3x more than outside of Bamboo. The music was again top 40’s from like 2009 and just didn’t make sense. If this club had the right marketing and staff, it would directly compete with Liv but the way that it is run right now, it will close within a year. This place needs a new AMAZING doorman and much more upscale clientele! They invested sooo much on the BEAUTIFUL décor and then skimped out on the marketing. That’s not how it works in Miami! People don’t just go to a spot because it has gorgeous décor, the locals want the full experience. The layout is just too awkward! If you are a tourist, go to this club. It’s worth seeing it and you can judge for yourself.
