Got the Chicken sub with mozzarella and roasted red peppers. Bread is fresh, but nothing special. Chicken is bland. Nice amount of chicken, mozzarella and rrp though. The meatball parm sub was so bland. Meat has zero flavor. Again, good sized meatballs. Basically no sauce and cheese was rubbery. Friend said the eggplant parm was dry/limited sauce as well.

Years ago this place was decent, but the quality declined. My family stopped going here when we ordered a pizza and were given an old one(the cheese was solid). There are better pizza places in the area.

Excellent salads whether for lunch or dinner. Pleasant service and reasonably priced. Try their soups! Mmmmm.

Best buffalo chicken pizza around! No questions asked. Top quality Italian food as well if you’re feeling dining in. One of the best Italian pizza/restaurants I’ve ever been to undoubtedly. I’m lucky to have grown up my whole life in this area and been able to go to Joey D’s for years!

I got a buffalo chicken pizza from here a few weeks ago and holy crap was it awesome. I usually go to La Rosa’s for italian sandwiches now… but this is my #1 local pizza pick.

THE Best vodka sauce ever, hands down!!! My favorite pizza is the Vodka Pie with fresh mozzarella and basil. My favorite dish is the Chicken Vodka. You can also now buy containers of their vodka sauce. Did I mention I love their vodka sauce? :)

This is the best pizza I have ever tasted in New Jersey. The sicilians are to die for! I always order my pizza here. However, they can get quite busy so sometimes ordering over the phone and picking it up is a must. Also, they have a very small parking space which gets pretty annoying at times but other than that, I have no complaints.

Everything is great here, been coming for years. Love all of their entrées. Chicken franchise is my favorite. Pizza is good, not the absolute best I’ve had, but still good.

My absolute favorite place for buffalo chicken pizza and I’m enjoying the what I believe is penne vodka slice they occasionally have.

Always ways satisfied. The mozzarella sticks are amazing. Most likely homemade. Pizza is always the perfect mix of sauce and cheese. The owner is always there and always working. The staff is always friendly and make you feel at home while waiting for food. We get delivery all the time. The delivery drivers are always friendly. Sometimes we even get the owner. Just an all over great place to order from. I just wish their wings weren’t breaded but I can deal with the ones they have. They are still delicious. Thanks Joey D!

Everything is great! I live in Edison 40 years — didn’t discover Joey D’s until a few years ago. Now — my favorite spot. Specific requests(well done, crunchy, thin, «extra whatever») are to-order, like a fine restaurant. Best quality ingredients, home made. Even the hot sub bread is really really good. My favorites are: Eggplant parm hero, extra sauce, wherein I request«the cheese well done & the bread toasted»; Phila cheese steak with extra onions, asking for«very well done onions». The quality of the veal in the veal parm dinner is amazing too!

I ordered one slice of the buffalo chicken and one slice of the margerita with eggplant. My son got two margerita slices w/o eggplant. The buffalo chicken slice was very good as far as the flavors go but the chicken was a tad bit on the dry side. The margerita slices were not very good. The crust and the cheese were not melted properly on top of each other so everything on top of the crust came off in one piece. Never had that happen with pizza before. Altogether for 4 slices and two cans of iced tea it came out to $ 18.00. Umm. where I’m from you get a large pie for $ 12 at regular pizza joints and $ 21 for the specialty pies at the famous places.

Very underwhelming in terms of food and presentation. The servers were good and very pleasant as that is the only reason why I gave them 3 stars. I was hoping the pizza of would of been better as i heard some great things about this place. I wouldn’t recommend it but also wouldn’t discourage going there either.

From regular to specialty slices you will find no better pizza than at Joey Ds. The buffalo chicken pizza is an absolute must– thick crust and amazing flavor. The margarita pizza was delightful as well. Garlic knots and marinara sauce are to die for — I even put a little extra sauce on my margarita slice. Great place great price

I needed a new Italian place since my old one wasn’t cutting it anymore(Edison Pizza). Joey D’s looked pretty good given the reviews so I placed an order for delivery — meat stromboli and the spinach ravioli in vodka sauce. Both dishes were delicious! I was hoping for more ravioli in a $ 13 dish(only 6 medium ravs), but at least the taste was def there. It also wasn’t hot, oh well. The stromboli was also really good — good amount of flavorful meat and the bottom was nicely crunchy rather than soggy. Marinara sauce also yum. My only criticism besides what I already mentioned is that it took an hour to arrive and the actual ordering was a bit painful(I had to keep repeating myself, had issues saying where I lived etc.) Other than that, Joey D’s has quality and tasty food. It might be my new spot!

What can I say, when I am home I am a regular. The service and food is what you want in a local Italian restaurant. Reasonably priced for the large portions(always have a doggy bag). Joey covers the full range of Italian cooking and let me not forget to mention it is a BYOB. I almost always order the Chicken Rollatini with Prosciutto and Provolone. Normally is comes on a bed of pasta but with me wanting to save some room for the starters, as they are very accommodating to special requests. I ask for them to plate it on a bed of garlic spinach. I very much enjoy it, my bide might have a different point of view. So as I mentioned earlier about that room I want to save. We start with string bean oreganata and mussels al-diablo is how we start our Joey D’s night. Good food, good friends and a room of regulars with always room for one more is what you should expect. Remember to always drink responsibly. Crazy Cubano Out

When you come to New Jersey, or back to visit as I tend to do, there are things you have to do while here. One being have Jersey pizza. I grew up here and we had some pretty good pizza joints we ate at growing up. Ours used to be a place in downtown Metuchen called Roberto’s. It went through several different owners but they most always kept the standards pretty good. Every other Friday or so my family and my Aunt, Uncle and cousins would always be there, we were semi-regulars and we always got two pies, a large salad and a couple bottles of Coke. Unfortunately they either closed or something happened, and my family doesn’t go there anymore. I moved away and years later they discovered Joey D’s. Also in Metuchen but a different area. Not sure how long it has been there, but yeah, the family found a new and really good pizza place. I have had their regular pizza and their Grandma pizza(thin Sicilian) and both are worth going to eat. What’s funny is the few times I have been there, I seem to run into teachers that I had when I was in elementary, middle or high school… what’s funnier, is I remember them, but it takes them a while to figure out who I am… But go, my family has had menu items and they make good Italian food as well as calzones, strombolis and of course, pizza. So, enjoy.
