Great subs, awesome lunch specials at great prices and staff is friendly … What else could you want but it is a whole in the wall kind of place not fancy but good

Not recommended. I have tried their falafel wrap and their hummus platter, and they both leave a lot to be desired… This place needs to add garlic salt, and/or onions, and/or hot sauce, or really Anything to give it flavor! I have never tried their pizza, but a friend told me it is not good. Sorry, guys, but taste matters: /

This place is my go to for a large, cheap pick up pizza or a chicken parm sandwich to go. I have certain places I go to for specific things and they have a very cheap large pick up pie. Their chicken parm sandwich is soo fresh and the bread is amazing(crispy on the outside and soft on the inside). Trust me and try them! You won’t regret it!

Have only had the meatball sandwich but they do a really good job with it. A nice crispness to the roll after baking. Not like others which are soggy.

First time in Metuchen. Came in here to get a couple slices of pizza and found a hidden gem… THEFALAFEL. This is honestly one of the best falafel sandwiches I’ve ever had. Seriously, this place should be on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives for this sandwich. The flavor is outstanding and the tahini sauce is mouth-watering. The portion is plentiful. So glad I looked beyond the pizza to their gyro/falafel Mediterranean menu. I will definitely take the trip here again just for the falafel.

This was not good pizza. I guess competing with the ice cream shop’s cheap pizza across the street they had to drop their prices, but it shows. I’ve got pizza here a few times and I’m always disappointed. The garlic knots were dry. Not a fan.

grilled Halal lamb and chicken plate with yellow seasoned rice and a small lettuce salad was quite tasty, particularly after applying requested hot sauce. the lamb and chicken had been marinated/seasoned and halal meat is always so much better. Italian wedding soup was OK, you can’t expect fresh pasta at this price point, the place is very reasonable and spitting distance to the train station. guy at counter was friendly

I ran in real quick to grab 2 cheese slices before my train came. The guy who was working wasn’t the friendliest. Ovens were on and hot so it only took a few minutes to get my slices, I think it was like $ 3.50 for 2. They were fine, they had a good amount of cheese and sauce, tasted fresh, and hit the spot.

Worst chicken caesar ever. Whoever the chef was that made it must have been so bored. Either that, or there wasn’t enough lettuce. Highly uninspiring to look at, and with such a basic generic flavor, not very fun to eat either. I paid almost ten bucks for it, so I had to indulge, but it honestly was a waste of money. Pizza is good here, not the best. I was tempted to try some pasta from here, but since I’ve left unhappy already, I think I’ll try one of the three Italian spots down Main St. Free WiFi is always a plus though.

Formerly Roberto’s and under a new owner, this pizzaria has great pizza. Great specials, $ 8.00 for a large pie and it’s really good! I recently went to Joey D’s thier large PLAIN pie is $ 12.50 and I like Buon Appetito’s pizza better. Buon Appetito also has delicious Gyros and spinach pie(I think the new owner is Greek.) It’s my go-to pizzaria in Metuchen. The location is next to the train which makes it a quick stop on the way home from work to pick up dinner to go. The interior needs updating!

We all have our pizzeria’s. The ones we call our own. The ones we more or less grew up in. The ones that have the best slices ever. Maybe I’m wrong about that. I grew up in a prime good pizza part of the country. Guess I was spoiled that way. Buon Appetito sits on the site of the former Roberto’s Pizza. Roberto’s was my pizza place. They had the best slice of fresh garlic and onion pizza I have ever had anywhere or since. Not exactly the slice of pizza you wanted to eat before a date, but when I was 8, I wasn’t doing much dating. When I heard Roberto’s was no longer around, a part of me died inside. It was like losing a close friend if you can call a building with good food inside a friend. Anyway, I wasn’t sure what my feelings were about going here, but I was with some friends and their little girl and after wandering around downtown Metuchen looking for something that she could eat, we decided that pizza was the best option and I’m always up for trying places I’ve never been. We didn’t try the onion/garlic pizza. I didn’t want to jump all the way in. Just wanted to dip my toe. I had a slice of plain as well as a chicken parm slice. Not as good as I remember Roberto’s being, but that isn’t to say it was bad. There are a few places in Portland, OR(where I currently live) that are better than this, but if this place existed there it would probably be my third favorite slice in that town. The place has changed in name and owners, but walking in still brings back memories. Maybe I can make some room for some new ones.
