Don’t order chicken for any salads here. It was awful. I think the only thing I enjoyed was the nacho appetizer I ordered. The drinks took forever to come. I could understand if it was busy but it wasn’t. I think they need to work on there service… the rest of the food that my table ordered everyone enjoyed just the biggest disappointment was out waitress was never to be found.

Live music is the only thing I would say is good about this place, besides that the service is awful. Hope owners or management get to see the reviews on here and make some changes.

The food was extremely bland even the salsa. How do you mess up salsa? The drink was ok but a bit sweet. Honestly, the best part of our meal was the ice water with lime wedges. Will not be returning. We learned from the friendly waitstaff that no Mexicans work or own the establishment. How can you expect to serve«authentic» Mexican food?!

I live very close to this restaurant and the only reason for me going to this place is for food and drinks with A friend, if you’re looking for good and quick service DON’T go here. The service can be horrendous and ridiculously slow you’ll wonder where your waitress has gone only to find her and the other servers chatting up a storm by the kitchen and neglecting their tables. I’ve been there more than several times and it’s been the same. One time I ordered a Salmon salad and it took them an hour and a half. For a salad people. I asked for the check at the end and the girl brings out my food finally but I don’t even want it anymore! I had to ask for her three times about it before and nothing was done. I was so upset because it was suppose to be a small birthday celebration but we had to cut our night short because the service at this place is so darn slow. I even emailed the owner about what happened but they clearly don’t care about what other people think since he never emailed me back. You really wanna go to a place like that? Of course not. Now that Margaritas is opened at the loop, I rather take my Mexican eating and margarita drinking business there.

I wanted to take my wife, and my mother in-law to a nice Mexican Restaurant. My wife mentioned this place because she heard that it was good and she wanted to try it. I am always open to new restaurants. When we came in on Mother’s day, it took them about 20 – 25 minutes which is very reasonable given the amount of people waiting. They sat us down in a corner. The furniture is not what you would expect from a recently opened restaurant, but I was still very open to the experience. After waiting 45 additional minutes to get serviced, the hostess who sat us asked us if we were being served, in which we answered NO. She became extreme stressed out about the situation and complaint a bit about the type of help she was getting or not getting. The waitress finally came. Long story short… The service(waitress) was extremely rude. After we placed the order, we waiting 45 minutes for our food to come out. Before the food came out, we were ready to cancel. When we communicated to the waitress our situation, her answer was, if you want to cancel, it’s your choice, and quickly walked away with an attitude. We were disappointed and frustrated. When I went to cancel the order, the food came out. The food was not tasty or pleasant, the service was horrible at best, and the environment was not great. I would never step a foot in this place again. I love food and I love restaurants, and I would never recommend this to any of my friends, but you are welcome to have your own experience. By the way, when we received the bill, there was an automatic gratuity of $ 35 for the waitress. This was the first time that my wife did something like this, but she asked to take the gratuity out of the bill due to the horrible experience and performance. I shared my experience with a couple of co-workers, and they expressed similar feelings. Good Luck

My friend and I went there because the wait for another restaurant was too long. The atmosphere was nice and looks like they had a stage set up for a band(no band came when we were there). We got table side guacamole which wasn’t horrible. I ordered chicken enchiladas which came with 3– one of them was beef! The waitress did not offer to change it to chicken and did not apologize even after I told her I didn’t eat beef(I didn’t touch it once I realized it was beef). The refried beans were like soup texture. Also, I asked for sour cream and our waitress gave us fried plantains. I gave 2 stars because the atmosphere was nice. Would not recommend and would never go back.

Nice to see a place that isn’t afraid of the heat! One reviewer said that the Salsa is watery and they are correct. On the positive note you can see it’s homemade & fresh. Chips are tasty, a tad bit greasy. The waitress gets four stars for the effort & good attitude. It was clear she was new and responsible for too many tables which made for slow service. Tacos were nicely spiced, three for $ 11.00, not a bad deal. Rice and beans were boring. My buddy had a steak burrito, it was huge! The menu has the expected Mexican fare. A lot of mixed reviews of this place, I hope they last.

Not sure if other reviews are old or what but if you are looking for the most traditional place to get deliciously spiced food such as fajitas, enchiladas etc… in a dominicam republic atmosphere this is the place to be. Live band on saturday, great music! Really a good place. I was surprised how good it was because of the reviews I had seen. The staff amd service was outstanding, not slow, I saw genuine smiles all night. If you live in the area, definetely a place to go. Much better than Border café if you know the(mexican restaurant) chain more familial, traditional amd crowed is mostly latin. Its like a good chinese restaurant full of chinese you know it is good. I recommend!

I had been running around like a nut, I was cold and just wanted a good, hot meal. I asked for a Pacifico on tap and I was told all the beer was flat on tap, so I asked for the bottle. Although they listed it, they didn’t have it. I asked for a Bud Lite was given a Coors. Strike one. The waitress brought salsa and chips to the table. Chips were warm and the salsa was spicy, made with chipotle. It was the best thing I got. I ordered the queso, I really think it was doctored Velveeta — even with an addition of some salsa it was not good. Strike two. I had Carnitas burrito for my meal. It was ok. But my plate was ice cold, soon too was my dinner. Strike three. The waitress was slow to return to my table after delivering dinner and they weren’t busy. Honestly, if I wasn’t so tired I would have driven the extra few to Café Azteca on Common Street in Lawrence. The food is far superior. Next time I will go the extra, so I am not disappointed. In this area, Café Azteca sets the bar for Mexican food.

I will NEVER go back. Food was fine, very tasty. The service is the reason for one star. I will never go back to this place. I went with a large group who had made plans to show up at noon on Sunday. They assured the group they would be open. When we arrived, they weren’t open yet but they opened for us and all the chairs were still on top of the tables. I can forgive that part if I lt was the extent of the bad service. It seemed like an eternity from the time we walked in before we even had water on the table. Every step of the way took a very long time, and for most of our visit, we were the only customers, so there was really no excuse for the lack of speed. The final reason and the most important to me was the bill. I was with a group so they added an 18% gratuity to the bill. I understand that and I don’t have a real problem with that, most places will do the same thing. The problem was when the waitress brought back my change. She only brought me my whole dollars. Any extra change was kept without my saying so, they did the same to other members of my group. The service was so bad they didn’t even deserve 18% but with the theft of my change, the waitress effectively gave herself a 20% tip. If you absolutely need Mexican food, by all means, try it. But do not expect good service, or you will be writing the next bad review.

I actually like the food and drinks here but the service is terrible. I have been ‘forgotten’ on several occasions. Makes me ‘forget’ to tip. Manager does not seem to work and waitress too busy socializing. Need to step it up or will not last.

I will absolutely never come back to this restaurant again. Their service was awful, we waited a few mins just to be seated. Once we were seated it prob took 10 mins for someone to come over and wait on us. It then took 25+ mins to get our food in which she messed up both our orders. I got the complete wrong dish and they messed up the specifications of my friends dish. I needed extra sour cream, that was an additional 1 dollar for a teaspoon. Neither of our orders were corrected or refunded. The food was nothing special I could make it better myself and now we have been sitting here for another 10+ mins after eating waiting for our check which we just had go hunt down another waitress to get.

On our way to Café Azteca; got sidetracked by the Italian festival and ended up here. So far so good. This place was Mogadors for awhile(which I loved) unfortunately the area did not support the unique Moroccan cuisine. The chef is good enough that food is good. Typical Mexican food… no standout features like Plaza Axteca’s table side gucc or the authentic mole sauce of Café Azteca but still good.

Mexican food that could not have been made by Mexicans… Calling it mediocre is being too kind. Service was slow and our meal came out before our lousy empanada appetizer did. Tekila’s was formerly Mogador and that is still very apparent in the high prices, blandness of their food, as well as the décor. Not worth the trip at all and I drive by the place every night after work! I wonder what they’ll call the next place?

I never ended up actually eating here, but this review is for our experience here. It’s a fairly new place, as I remember it being something else a few months ago. I dislike the way they decided to spell their name, but hey. that’s not what I am reviewing. Upon entering, We asked to see a menu to decide if we wanted to eat there or not. It seemed a little pricey and I was hoping for a fajitas-for-2 special(no dice) but alas we decided we would give it a shot. The hostess was also the bartender apparently cause after we finished looking at the menu, we waited about 10 minutes for her to come back and seat us, but she just continued doing the bartending and chatting with the patrons over there we ended up leaving. I was a little annoyed by this

Tekila’s opened up about six weeks ago and D and I decided to try it tonight. I wish to premise by reminding people that running a restaurant as a Mom and Pop is anything but easy. Sites like Unilocal can make or break a place too. When reading reviews one must read for content and not just the rants. Service: We walked in about 6:30pm today. The place was fairly empty but we decided that since it was new we would give it a chance. A place doesn’t get a reputation overnight. Paul, one of the main operators was very welcoming and genuine. We were greeted with chips and salsa. The salsa was a rich and tasty red sauce. He wanted to do his best to make us happy and he succeeded. Service was quick, thorough and it came out hot and correctly prepared. One thing I was very impressed with was the low salt content in the food. There was very little and it allowed the real flavor to come though. Food: Dan chose the Cinco de Mayo Enchilada Platter. There were five beautiful enchiladas in three different varieties. Each was delicious but the one that stood out to me was the one topped with mole. This was no ordinary mole. It had a marvelous taste of cinnamon which I have never had the pleasure of tasting before. I had the Dos Amigos Beef Quesadillas. Again really delicious. It was full of tender beef and rich cheese perfectly crispy. Price: Excellent value! Our platters and one beer came to about $ 26.00. You can’t beat that especially when one has leftovers. Improvements: As said before this is a new place. Unlike a chain there are always going to be growing pains. The menu had a few oddities that in my opinion shouldn’t be there. It’s a Mexican restaurant so to me, Philly rolls, mozzarella sticks, and fries really shouldn’t be on the menu. It says to me there’s a lack of confidence in the cuisine being served. The beer menu needs improvement. It’s mostly bottom shelf like Bud, Miller, Corona, Dos Equis. The beer service was also a thorn that can easily be fixed. I was asked if I wanted my beer in a mug and I said yes. A tall half filled mug came out. This was a huge let down. I realize that it was a full bottle but perception is a lot. The tow issues are as such. If a beer sold as a bottle is brought out the bottle should be present. This shows the customer that they getting a bottle for one thing. Secondly when poured there is no question that the amount of beer in the glass is correct. It may seem small but this tiny thing can truly be the breaker of a meal. All in all Tekila’s is great. It shows a lot of promise and should do well once word of mouth takes off. I would love to consult for this place to give them the boost they need.

Tekila’s opened about six weeks ago and was transformed from a Mediterranean restaurant(formerly Mogador) into a Mexican restaurant under the same ownership. This casual restaurant and bar was redone which has colorful painted walls, a bar area/lounge section and a dining room section with hardwood floors and table seating. There’s also a big party table with low cushioned seating in the dining room. After viewing the Mogador/Tekila’s FB page with the posted appetizing food photos, I decided to stop in here for Saturday night dinner. The place was fairly busy around 8PM and I was seated after a 2 minute wait(clear a table) and given a menu. Late 80s and early 90s music was being played over the speakers and eventually heard some Mexican music. The menu offerings include typical Mexican fare including tacos, enchiladas, chimichangas, burritos, quesadillas, fajitas, salads, chicken tortilla soup, and desserts as well as house specialties such as steaks, carnitas, and fajita pasta. Most dinner entrees priced $ 8.99-$ 15.99. A kids menu is available which offers chicken tenders & fries, cheese pizza, and more. The bar offers beer, cocktails, margaritas, martinis, and«tekilas.» I was given a basket of chips and salsa to start things off. For the most part, the chips were warm and crispy, but there were a few chewy chips in the mix. The salsa was not thick at all, but more like a medium spicy tomato sauce. For dinner, I ordered the Steak Fajita Tekila’s($ 10.99 plus tax)., which was served on a hot skillet(not served sizzling) with marinated steak, green & red peppers, & red onions and a side of shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream dressing, 3 hot soft flour tortillas, and a bowl of Mexican rice on the side. The steak, peppers, & onions was cooked and smothered in a sweet & tangy sauce with Mediterranean seasonings. The steak was tough and very very chewy and it took some effort to cut up the steak strips with a regular knife. The fajitas tasted pretty good, but I prefer steak fajitas cooked with less tangy sauce. The side of Mexican rice was standard and decent. I had enough food for dinner, and passed on the offer for dessert. Overall, the fajitas were decent and the service was friendly and pleasant with minor delays of being served since the dining room was almost a full house. FREEWIFI with password
