I went to margaritas for a girls night and was so impressed with the service I recieved. I specifically want to call out Molly, our waitress in the lounge area who is the true definition of an amazing waitress. She was so kind, caring, checked back on us but wasn’t a bother and had a great conversation with her. Waitresses like her deserve recognition and praise for really exemplifying what a great experience is supposed to feel like. Molly deserves much more than just a Unilocal review. I am happy to say the GM, Jeff came out to thank us as we felt we had such a great experience we needed to leave molly a $ 30 tip on a $ 60 bill and left her a heartfelt note which seemed to make her day! Thanks again molly!!!

Every time I have gone with friends, we were seated right away, and didn’t wait that long for out waitress. The food was alright, I have tasted better Mexican food in other restaurants, the only thing was that the food lacked some flavor, but it wasn’t bad. The chips and salsa they give you before the food, is probably the best salsa I have ever had.

+: their fried ice cream is always good(which gives them 2 stars) but other than that, there r better more authentic mexican cuisine in lawrence! :) -: rice was stale, service was slow(even tho not crowded), no chips!!!(ran out!), beef oily… really not edible main dishes! dont recommend!

Monday nights is trivia night, which is why we visited this evening. The game was fun and lively, the host was fantastic, and the prizes were generous. We came in third and won a $ 10 gift card. Midway through the game, we noticed on the sheet that we weren’t eligible for first; you couldn’t have any more than six members of your team, and we had seven. They should have let us know this up front. The restaurant was chilly. I ordered decaf coffee and was told they didn’t have any coffee due to their Keurig being broken. Is it typical for restaurants to use Keurigs rather than brewing real coffee? With no hot drink and the restaurant being cold, I wore my sweatshirt and jacket the entire visit. The service was pretty bad. The waitress came by very infrequently, and when she did, she seemed annoyed. She poured water into a member of my party’s Sierra Mist. This was after someone told her that the person had Sierra Mist, and the waitress snapped and said no, she wanted water. She didn’t apologize when the one who had the Sierra Mist returned and requested another one. I had two seltzers($ 3 for each 12 ounce bottle!), and the waitress attempted to take one when I was only halfway finished with it. It took a long time for the food to come out; it didn’t come out until the third quarter of the trivia. It also took a long time for the waitress to bring the bill, which came on one slip although two were requested. She did return several minutes later and offered to split the checks when she saw us doing the math. Trivia night is worth a return trip, and the atmosphere is nice. I’ll just bring tea bags and ask for hot water.

My go-to Mexican place with great food and tasty margaritas. The cayenne pepper + the salt mixture on the rim for the drinks is made upon request and definitely worth trying… The ambience is very pleasing and ideal for dinner. Love their enchiladas and corn on the cob. They serve the corn OFFthe cob, which would mean u just scoop in and devour!

Mediocre all around. Went there for lunch this week. It was around 1pm so being a little empty seemed OK but maybe a reason. We stood at the hostess station for quite a while, a little odd but maybe She was maybe busy elsewhere. We sat in the lounge the wait staff seemed a little stretched not due to numbers but general size of the room and spacing of clients. They may want to tell their hostess how to seat folks so the waiters don’t need roller skates. Now the food very bland. Usually Mexican food is flavorful and spicy, not this meal. I poured on the hot sauce and it seemed to fall into a flavor vacuum. The retried beans were not rendered down and the rice was dry tasteless. Shame I was hoping for a decent dining option after the last disaster ours Mexican restaurant at this location. One funny thing, the corporate office for this chain should reconsider tile table tops, colorful but the plates skitter around on the high gloss tiles. Try cutting your food as the plates slide around, challenging.

Sat at the bar with a buddy; had a few beers and a bite. The service was great however there was an overabundance of flies, this is pretty gross. It’s indicative of how clean the place is. I hope they clean up their act.

I have been to Margarita’s in Methuen about four times since it opened earlier this year. Food has only been ok each time, but this time was the worst by far. I came with three friends on a Saturday night ;one friend loves their burritos. We waited forty minutes to be seated. The waitress was very friendly & attentive, didn’t catch her name. Long wait for the food. I got a taco salad w/chicken & the meat was lukewarm, I only ate about ¼ of it. I got two beers as well. My bill came to $ 25 with tax & tip, but it’s very expensive for poor quality food. Try Plaza Azteca, it’s much fresher for the same price.

Delicious food, very clean and spacious restaurant. Staff was extremely responsive and hospitable. They are open for lunch too which was a great bonus as not all Margs locations are open during lunch.

50 min to receive 3 soft tacos and a quesadilla. Food quality is poor and not worth the wait. I went here on a Saturday night at 6:00 and got seated right away. There were many empty tables which is odd for a Sat night in a busy plaza with a movie theater. We ordered before 6:15. At 6:55 we asked when our order would be ready because we had to leave by 7:15. The waitress checked and said they prepared it but hadn’t cooked it yet and that was not close to the top of the assembly line to be cooked. We asked if they could stop our order because we need to go shortly. She went to ask her manager but 5 min later the food came out. Great that they recognized our urgency that we needed to leave so they bumped it up the line to cook it quickly. Not so good is making people wait 50+ min for their crap food. I asked 2 different times for guacamole but never received it. The food quality is poor. Next time I’ll go across the parking lot to Chilpotle.

Went there last night before catching a movie at AMC. I have been to a couple different Margaritas locations before, so I was excitedly anticipating my raspberry margarita on the rocks. Absolutely delicious and one of the best margaritas I have had! We started off the meal with chips and guacamole(note if you are gluten free make sure you ask for the gluten free chips as they have changed their frying practices; they have two separate fryers one specifically for gluten free and the other is general). For dinner I decided on chicken fajitas with the corn tortilla, the portions are very large and the chicken was cooked perfectly. Overall not too bad, but I wish I decided on the quesadilla instead(as it is my favorite). The service took a little longer than anticipated but luckily we were able to make our movie just in time!

Doesn’t belong in Methuen, it deserve’s an audience: The décor and open concept feel is perfect. The food is great, plates larger than advertised and very tasty, recommend salads and fish tacos! The manager, Kevin, can answer any possible question you have about a proper Mexican experience. Just go. Ask for Kev!

My wife and I were shopping at the Loop, and decided to stop in here for dinner. It was very good, in a quick synopsis. My mouth — it is happy. In case you are wondering, I am not a restaurant connoisseur, but I play one on my computer. So be prepared, Unilocal readers. We arrived. I was trying to recover from the shock of the copper mariachi band on the lawn. It scared me a little. They seemed very life-like, and reminded me of a Mexican Freddy Krueger. I am a bit of a pansy, and this should not reflect the owners decision to change anything… maybe just a clown hat and some balloons or something to make it less traumatizing to the meek and small. I’ll be OK. Thanks for caring. We enter. The ambiance is wonderful. There is some upbeat 80’s tunes on, that eventually varied into 90’s, 2000’s and beyond. The Mexican/Aztec design inside there was breathtaking. Well done. We were thrilled with the setting. The hostess that greeted us was vivacious. She was also Hispanic and added to the authenticity of the restaurant. She explained that we could eat in one section that was quiet, or go pick our own seats in the open floor planned section featuring a huge bar and … Yeah. We like loud, and open. We got to pick our own seats. We picked a table, not a high top, because i’m 5’3″ and need to have my feet touch the ground. It’s a short guy thing. Don’t judge me. Our waitress arrived after about 5 minutes. Her name was Angela, and she was an absolute peach! Very kind, attentive and also, soft-spoken. Not one of these obnoxious«HIWELCOME — I AMHERETOSERVEYOU» robots you see in other restaurants. She was great. Personable. She had already brought us some nacho’s and salsa. Fresh crisp chips and the salsa has a bit of a kick to it. I ordered a Dos Equis Amber and my darling wife ordered a strawberry smoothie. Both were done right. Beer was served with a lime half, very cold and delicious. I had 3. The smoothie had a glass dressed in a red sugar rim, with whipped cream and a cherry. She liked that very much. We ordered Jalapeño baby chimi’s as an appetizer. Let me explain the adventure. The mini-chimichanga’s were a flaky crispy roll containing a concoction of jalapeño, pepper and cream cheese. I had reveled in the delicious app for about 5 seconds until the spices kicked in. Wooooohooooo! What a kick. Very tasty, and the burn lasts for a good 20 minutes. Our meal had taken 30 minutes to reach our table. The this was the only negative part of our experience. Angela had come to us several times to apologize for the delay. Luckily, I was enjoying the Dos Equis and Cindy Lauper experience too much to care. Girls just want to have fun. And, you know, guys too. The meal finally arrived. It was well presented, and worth the wait. I got the chicken chimichanga. A delectable plate of rice and salsa laid out to accept a hearty pastry wrapped around a moist and tender chicken and cheese — drizzled in some chili sauce and guacamole. Unreal. Wifey got the shrimp enchiladas and enjoyed it immensely. Overall, we were raving the whole ride home. Margarita’s has a talented kitchen, and a huge bar. If you enjoy atmosphere, and a good meal, you may need to be a bit patient. But it is worth it. I just gave one of our kids a mini-chimi leftovers as a dare. He’s still trying to cool his mouth. I am a fan. Worth a shot.

We love this Margarita’s. The food is delicious — especially the«After Work» specials. Kelly is a GREAT bartender — professional and personable! We’ll be back! Almost forgot to mention… had a few items leftover to bring home, Margarita’s «doggy bag» involves no plastic or Styrofoam! YAY! A simple aluminum container with a cardboard insert for a top. Listen up, other restaurants!

Here is my experience, last night(A Tuesday) I showed up at 7pm to Margaritas with 2 friends. We were seated in the back. The Waitress took 15 minutes to ask us for a drink orders.(Not complaining about that, I just take note) I notice the Waitress has the«you’re bothering me attitude»(Still not complaining about that, just taking note). We place our drink orders, one of my friends orders an appetizer of guacamole(for herself) she was starving, and my other friend and I were not that hungry yet. After another 20 minutes she comes back with drinks and chips.(Mined you it’s not busy in the restaurant, at all!) She asks if we would like to place an order, we placed an order for 3 dinners. The waitress leaves. After 20 minutes she comes back and says«ah, we lost your order. What was it you wanted again?»(I’m still not mad at this point. I get it; she is having a bad night.) I half-jokingly reply«maybe you can Comp us an appetizer to split, while we wait?» to which she replied«I’ll get my manager, and you can tell him how much I suck!».(Now, I’m not happy. I don’t care about you being slow and having a shitty attitude; even though you’re in the service industry. But you’re going to talk to me like that? F@#% you lady! But I play it cool.) We give her the order again for the second time.(Note we have now been sitting for almost an hour) she leaves with the order. 30 minutes later, we waved her down and asked about the food, she began to explain the kitchen is slow; both managers on duty are refusing to come out and speak with the guests. She pointed at the guacamole my friend ate, and said«I Comp’ed you for that.» I replied, «That’s fine for her, she is the only one that ate it. But what about us»(referring to me and my other friend) to which she replied«you should have ate some» And walked away. After another 20 minutes. I got up and said to my friend, I had, had enough. And I don’t trust the food we would be served, if we were ever served, and left. I will never return to Margaritas Mexican Restaurant in Methuen ever again. Worst time ever!

I was happy to see Margaritas at the loop ! I feel they are one of the good chains. I’ve been twice now since they opened. Décor is fun and authentic. They have outdoor seating. Drinks are great and on point. Tacos Del Mar was AMAZING ! I crave them now daily since I have been. Chips and Salsa to start is nice, chips are addicting. Guacamole was good as well, I feel you can never have enough guac :) My only complaint is how SLOW they are. The waitstaff just don’t seem to be well trained. Once they get quicker they will be better !

I’ve been to a Margaritas previously in Waltham and was excited to hear one was opening near my home. My party and I came for a late lunch so it wasn’t busy. We sat at the table and was not visited by our server until 10 minutes later — not cool. She asked what we wanted for drinks but we gave her our entire order because we were afraid she was gonna take long again. My friend and I both ordered the regular chimichangas and we ended up receiving BABY chimichangas, which was pretty much an appetizer with no rice or beans. We called the server over and told her the mistake that had been made. She apologized and brought out rice and beans without charge — we were still annoyed this happened. Mind you, the restaurant wasn’t busy and she struggled to service the tables she had. We waited long for her to help each time it was needed. I understand they are new servers but first impression is everything. The food wasn’t bad but very average. Their guac had no kick, chimichangas were a bit dry, papaya smoothie tasted weird and the fried ice cream was boring. I usually don’t expect much from chain restaurants and Margaritas falls into that MEHHH category. Their service is ridiculously slow. I don’t think I’ll be coming back and I predict they are going to close soon. This location in the Loop is cursed — first Bugaboo Creek, then Santana Rae’s(which closed before I even got a chance to visit) and now this place. Let’s just replace it with a clothing store.

Okay — the third star is a total gift and a presumption that they will improve in their timing and customer service. I’m assuming that their being open only two to three weeks is a reason for hoping they will improve and that they have system errors they are working on(although tonight, they didn’t seem to be aware that they had systm issues). We got her about 90 minutes ago and are still waiting on our check — Bar service was slow — we sat at the bar and watched as bar tenders seemed to scratch their heads trying to figure how to handle making drinks. When we ordered drinks it took ten to fifteen minutes to get them made(a beer and a margarita — not overly complex orders at a place named margaritas right?) the flavor of the margaritas was fair if a little watery. The kitchen service was slower than a 90 year old trying to poop without prune juice — took well more than thirty minutes to make our dinners. The food was decent — I didn’t care for the Queso which I thought had a peculiar grit to it — but the enchiladas tasted good and werent cold. We actually got to the point where we found the manager to ask about our food after a while — it came out shortly thereafter. Our entire stay took about 90 minutes for two drinks and dinner. People leaving behind me heard me discussing my concerns with the manager — they caught me outside to say they had a similar experience Maybe they will get better with time

Great time last night in the resturants lounge area. The service is great and friendly. You get an authentic feeling of happiness from the staff. We had Lime in the coco frozen. The russlrita. And some draft beers. Everything came out perfect and on-time. The tenders and taquitos were our starters and they were very filling. Our table of four munched on that and the complimentary chips and salsa. The music was sweet and the Red Sox were playing on every flat TV which made my experience that much better. The Guadalajara chicken and steak fajitas were to die for. My girlfriend had the mucho sabor fajitas which was very succulent. We took home the leftovers and are warming it up as I type. Overall this restaurant and bar is officially its own entity in the town of Methuen. Only open for a week and for a Friday I can happily say I want to come back very often. I usually do not write reviews but I felt this place needed to be talked about. ABSOLUTELYAMAZING!

Margaritas Mexican Restaurant is now open at The Loop in the former Santana Rae’s/Bugaboo Creek location. This Mexican restaurant and bar was redone inside and outside. The layout of the restaurant is similar to Santana Rae’s with the bar area/lounge on one end and the dining room on the other side. There is also outdoor patio seating too, like before. The décor here is very colorful and festive including several hand painted ceramics figures and sculptures. The bar area has several flat screen TVs and a variety of adult contemporary music was blasting from the speakers(they could really turn it down). The food and drink menus are the typical/same menu offerings and prices as the other Margaritas locations. This location is also open for lunch too. I stopped in here after work to grab a bite to eat. The place was fairly busy around 5pm on grand opening day. I found an open high top table in the bar area. My server arrived to my table with menus and free chips & salsa about 5 minutes after I sat down. He informed about the Happy Hour specials offered 3 pm to 6 pm weekdays including $ 5 margaritas, $ 5 selected apps, $ 1.50 chimis, $ 1 taquitos. However, I asked about special limited time items such as the Corn Cakes and the Big Deal Tuesday specials, which this location does not offer yet since it just opened. For now, I will have to visit my usual NH Margaritas locations for those deals. I decided to stick with Happy Hour appetizers on this visit. I ordered a Diet Pepsi($ 2.49), Hector’s Quesadilla($ 5), 2 Baby Chicken Chimis($ 3), 2 Baby Jalapeño/Cream Cheese Chimis($ 3), and 4 Pork Taquitos($ 4). The food arrived to my table in about 15 minutes by kitchen to table runners. The appetizers were served hot and fresh, all very tasty. I needed a takeout container for some of the apps. Overall, I like this location which offers a great place to go for food and drinks after work. My server was very informative and attentive offering more chips & salsa, refills on the soda, and I also got enrolled in their Circle of Friends Rewards Program earning points for discounts on food. I knew about the program, but no server at the other Margaritas locations offered it. The manager also checked up on me and asked how things were. I should be back again to the Methuen Margaritas once they start offering the other featured items and deals offered at the other established locations.
