I have ordered a few times, and it’s always hit or miss. I’ve ordered a large variety and everytime it includes hot food and sushi, my sushi is warm and not fresh. I was hoping for better. It’s never consistent.

Lunch combo 3 rolls for $ 9.99 and you get a soup or salad with it! I have a pretty big appetite but there are usually leftovers. I think 2 combos could probably feed 3 people a light meal. I usually get the spicy tuna, salmon avocado and tuna avocado rolls with a salad(the salad is your basic romaine with a little bit of sliced carrots and purple cabbage pre mix that you could get at the grocery store lightly tossed in ranch). This is a family owned business and the workers are friendly and nice. They’ll really cater to your desires as best as they can. I have yet to try the Chinese food but their sushi is pretty good, especially for the low price. More like a take out or quick bite place, wouldn’t recommend for nice date nights because they’re a small place with a lot of in and out customers, but would recommend for lunch dates with your bestie. Ps: They’re closed on Mondays :(

I am so very impressed. This is my first time ordering from here and I would give this place 10 stars if I could. They were quick at delivery and I was so impressed by the freshness and flavor of the roll that I shared with a co-worker. Since I never leave for lunch, this was such a nice and filling treat. $ 7.99 for two rolls and a soup! My goodness and no delivery fee. It’s better than any other offer out there.

Their rolls are awesome! They don’t skimp and the ingredients are fresh. You can’t beat the sushi roll lunch special. 2 rolls for $ 7.99 plus a soup; and it’s enough to feed two people! The first time I tried it, I wasn’t expecting much because of how cheap the prices were, but I was very impressed! The soups are also great, much better than some of the Chinese takeout places around here. Also, the delivery is fast. One of my favorite places for sushi!

Again, against my better judgement, I tried this place one more time. It had to be better, right? Negative. I ordered the Sesame chicken and Mandarin chicken. Nothing has changed. Everything tastes like a wet shoe. There is zero flavor. I am sorry, but I have tried this place four times now. After a bad write up, I figured something would change. I don’t see how people eat here. What am I not tasting? How come other people find it good? There are other places I get the same food from and they are delicious. Why is this different?

Ok, so despite some of the worker’s rude tendencies, I can’t minimize the fact that their fried rice is the absolute best I have ever had! It’s not dry like other restaurant’s fried rice, and you don’t even need a drop of soy sauce to make it moist and add flavor. In have eaten MANY different restaurant’s fried rices, but I can’t find anything remotely similar to their delicious fried rice. It’s fresh and the cook makes it right in front of you! 5 stars for the rice.

I was actually trying to decide between 2 or 3 stars, and decided to give them 3 based on previous experiences. We ordered delivery on a Friday and were pleased that we were under the 3 mile delivery charge, so that’s a plus! However, the food took a long time to get here, so it was cold…:( The food itself was pretty good. I had the clear soup(which you can only do so much with) but I always find myself comparing it to Shogun’s on Vets, which nobody has been able to come close to yet, in my opinion… but that’s another review… I also had the beef asparagus roll appetizer, which I really enjoyed. The delivery guy was very polite, so no complaints there. Will definitely order again and hope for quicker delivery. Guess it just depends on how busy they are.

The only reason I give it 3 stars is because of the delivery guy, he never give me my change every time I pay cash. Every time I have to ask him for my change or else he will just hurry up and leave. One time my order was 12 dollars and I paid with 20 dollars bill, this guy took the money and was ready to take off! So I told him that I need my change, he then turned around and acted like he doesn’t understand english!!! This is unacceptable! The food however was great.

I actually really love this place. The food is always fresh and tasty and the price is right. The reason for the 3 stars is because of the delivery fee. On their new menu it states that delivery is free for a distance of 1 – 3 miles and after that there is a $ 5 delivery fee. I live just over two miles away and they have been charging me the delivery fee! I am mobility challenged and on a tight fixed budget. I only order delivery when I can’t get to the store and being charged a fee when I shouldn’t be — especially on my tight budget is not acceptable! As a result, I probably won’t order from them anymore as I cannot afford to be charged fees that don’t apply to me.

Overall, the food I received from here was mediocre. The chicken katsu tasted a tad old and the beef and broccoli was okay. The General Tsao’s chicken, on the other hand, bordered on inedible. The chicken itself was dry and tasteless, like it had been recycled from some other failed dish, but the thing that killed it for me was that the chicken pieces were not fried correctly. The coating was under cooked and gooey. The sauce was also more like a soy sauce gravy than a General Tsao’s sauce. The fried rice was mediocre as well. The salmon rolls we got were okay, but tasted old. It was a pretty bad experience for my family and I and I will not be ordering from here again.

I love getting their sushi delivery! Seriously the best bang for your buck. The sushi is ALWAYS super fresh and delivered promptly. Very sweet owners and I rather support this small business over any other. Bonus? If you don’t want Japanese you can also order Chinese. Or Both! They’re the jam. Highly recommended!!!

Always cheap. Always good. So far I’ve had the crunchy, and the rock n roll. Oh and they deliver too !!! Kind of a little wait but it’s ok I guess.

I am very surprised this place for 5 stars! I give it 3 just for delivery. I want to give it 4… However, the last two times I’ve eaten there, I’ve gotten ill. I haven’t narrowed it down completely but I had the California roll, Crawfish roll, and the crab roll. I like that they deliver, and their egg drop soup is pretty good. The sushi is good, but definitely not anything like Sake or Chiba. The lunch specials ARE great though! Three rolls plus soup or salad for $ 10? Yes please. Enough to share!

For what it is(a cheap little sushi place) it’s surprisingly fabulous! I’m a big fan of sushi and sashimi and I’m very picky on freshness. I originally tried this place because they offered free delivery in my area and I wanted sushi without the restaurant prices on a regular week night. The online menu looked surprisingly diverse for just a little hole in the wall to go sushi place. I took a risk and got the rainbow roll and the spicy tuna roll as well as an order of combination of fried rice. They delivered it in a reasonable amount if time(about 30 minutes from ordering). I admit I half-heartedlyexpected something along the lines of grocery store quality sushi. However, I was surprisingly impressed! The fish taste fresh, the rice was soft and fresh, the presentation was good. And let me tell you something, that combination fried rice was better than any hibachi fried rice I’ve ever had at any japanese restaurant. Plus it was super cheap with GIANT portions! Then, my next surprise came as even more of a shock. The next afternoon I reached into my fridge and saw my left over sushi. I did not plan on finishing it after that long because as all sushi lovers know, sushi has a very short fridge-life. Well not this sushi! The rice was just as soft as the previous day and the fish still taste pretty fresh. I tell you I can’t explain it! I’ve never had sushi taste good after 24+ hours in my fridge. I totally wasn’t expecting that. This place is still to this day the only place I don’t mind having left over sushi from because it keeps so well the next day. It’s pretty bizarre! I don’t question why I just go with it…

Great sushi. Cheap prices. Not a fan of the Chinese dishes though. Temptation roll and Gyoza enough said.

5 star sushi, 5 star prices, and 5 star owners/employees! This is the best takeout/deliery sushi I have ever gotten and we are big sushi fans. Its not the biggest place for dining in, but I would definitely vote Sushi Express as the best sushi in Metairie for a take out experience! I haven’t ever had much else, but I am sure if it is as good as the sushi, your in good shape.
