The family that owns this location is unprofessional and not very friendly. I walked into the door with backs to me and waited a nice while for anyone to turn around and greet me. They make you feel very unwelcome. The only plus is that their store is meticulously clean. Thats the only reason they got 2 instead of 1 star. Will NEVER return to this location. Rude and not knowledgable about their products or services.

I only used the spray tan booth. It doesn’t spray evenly and it’s orange and sometimes broken. 2 year contract and $ 50 a month and still $ 10 a tan. This is way to expensive. I am an avid spray tanner. Although this is the most convenient, it is not worth the money, especially when the machine never works correctly. I had to pay $ 99 to get out the contract plus two months at $ 50. That’s $ 200 for an orange and streaky tan membership. I do not recommend if this is what you use he most. The owner would not work with me. I did not want to complain to corporate about the machine because I didn’t want tot deal with the situation. I will NEVER go back. They lost a customer for life and were given some bad reviews!

I’ve been to quite a few Planet Beach franchises, and while they’re all a little overpriced, this one also has awful service. I would come in about once a week for a summer and I always got reprimanded from the guy behind the desk for not making an appointment before I came. He never smiled at me or made eye contact; he always seemed to be bothered with the fact that he had a customer. Their packages and their lotions are extremely overpriced. The beds are clean and maintained, but I won’t go back there.

I have a tanning membership here and as silly as it sounds, I wont tan or even go there to cancel my membership by how uncomfortable the staff has made me feel. They are always stuck behind the computer looking too occupied to make eye contact when checking you in. I watched as one of the guys had three and then four girls including myself waiting to be checked in while he was on the phone with what i assume was his girlfriend calling her «sweetie» before telling her to hold on so he could finally address us. We all looked at each other in disbelief of him pretty much ignoring us completely before two of the girls walked out, and then he laughed and mocked those girls to his girlfriend!!! I couldnt believe it. Anyway, I have been to every planet beach in the city and im pretty discouraged seeing as I have always had some issue at each one… :(sad planet beach…

I called to ask about tanning packages, and the person on the phone was a little difficult. He said I had to come in to get my questions answered. That is strange. I’ve tanned at Planet Beach before and just wanted to know the prices for a basic month of tanning. That’s not too difficult. I’m going back to my local tanning salon, Sun Bodies. No thank you Planet Beach!!!

I’ve been a member at a few different Planet Beach locations. and after my last membership at Uptown (on Tchoupitoulas) I didn’t think I would be a fan of Planet Beach ever again, it kind of soured me a bit.
Well, I couldn’t shake the itch to start tanning again and get ready for summer, so I decided to join the Old Metairie location since I’ve moved and its now convenient.
So far, the staff has been friendly and the beds are well-​maintained. The tanning lotion stock isn’t very big, but honestly, that’s probably a good thing– because I don’t need to be tempted to buy another $ 50 bottle of lotion.
