McAllister’s is usually my splurge treat. I work in Elmwood so it’s a little out the way. I excitedly place my to go order to quickly go pick-up for lunch. I get there and they inform me that they don’t have the sandwich I ordered online and if I want to place another order. Shouldn’t someone of called me or something? The calm person I am, I say I am in a rush and ask if a club would take long. Well they don’t push my order ahead of anyone and I have to wait 25 minutes!!! I was not even offered a discount or drink while I wait, barely even a we’re sorry and I was late getting back to work. I will never be back!!!

This place has really gone downhill from what it was. The orders are frequently wrong for pickup. Cheese is missing. Meat is burnt. They don’t give you the drink for your order unless you ask, even though it’s on your order and they are asking you to pay for it. Sweet tea is often empty in one of the containers. Most of these issues are pickup issues, not dine in issues. Also the service is much better on weekdays vs weekends.

30 minutes for a French Dip sandwich and still waiting. Counter person basically told me to F off when I inquired about the status of my food. Ridiculous.

And my obsession with McAllister’s deli is done. Why I let myself become infatuated with certain chains is infuriating sometimes. When I walked in, there were maybe 10 other customers total. About a quarter of the tables had plates, cups and silverware on them, and no other signs of those tables being occupied. There appeared to be one person in the kitchen(although there was only an open window in the kitchen, the rest was walled off, there could have been more people back there), and two people at the registers, though only one was actually at the register, the other one was staring at the stream coming from the brewing iced tea. Once I placed my order, I took my number and sat at a table. Upon looking at the table, while it had been cleared of dishes, it had not been wiped down. Change tables, and notice the dirt on the floor. Change tables, and still not much better. It seems like the young lady watching the tea brew could have been wiping tables off, sweeping floors or removing dishes from tables. Or something. The food tasted good at first bite, but I notice the smell. It did not smell like the rueben sandwich and side of potato salad in which I ordered. It just smelled… off…I can’t seem to come up with a better word. I am good with not going back, at least to this location.

If you want a spud meal, don’t waste your time going here. We visited twice during normal business hours and they were out of spuds each time. They are next door to a large supermarket, so it’s very easy for them to go buy emergency baked potatoes. Their tight cost management will eventually put them out of business.

I love the McCalisters, its a good break from fast and or greasy eating either while out or at home. I usually have the ultimate nachos with extra sour cream. When I’m more in the mood for soup and a sandwich I usually go with the chicken salad sandwich or the cobb club(no bacon). I have yet to have a bad experience at this location, if I had to pick something negative to say it would be that the cute young girl who often took my order when I came in for lunch is no longer working there. Outside of one less pretty face to admire this place is pretty solid go to for me.

I’ve never actually eaten here, but I have gotten multiple sandwich trays from this location, and they are always fantastic and on point! My favorite thing that I have gotten here is the sandwich wraps. They are turkey and cheese wrapped in a tortilla-type wrap with mustard and sometimes avocado. I love these wraps and they are nicely sized and very tasty. They also offer half turkey and swiss sandwiches on a croissant, if you are in the mood for something a little«fancier». The food is always really fresh here and the trays are easy to order for a quick pickup.

I was at Olé Miss when the very first McAlister’s came into existence(initially it was Checker’s but a burger joint already had that name taken so they changed it to McAlister’s to franchise it out). It’s really just a boring bland franchise chain now so in the land of delicious po boys I just don’t find myself eating here. The sandwich quality seems to have declined with the franchising but the iced tea is still great so I mainly stop at this location for iced tea as its near my office.

Keep it simple: this place has great food, decent price and fast, friendly service most of the time. The dining area and drink station is always clean, and every time I go the management is visible in the back or on the floor. Don’t know why this place only has 2 stars.

I have always eaten mcalisters and enjoyed it, but this particular mcalisters is awful. The food is as good as it is at any other mcalisters… if they have it. I have ordered to go orders multiple times and arrived only to be told they were out of bread or turkey or both. At least they waited until I arrived to tell me they didn’t have 2 of the most basic sandwich ingredients on earth. They have frequently been out of rotel dip as well which they also wait to tell you until you arrive. So unless you want to order weird sandwiches that they won’t run out of the ingredients for I would steer clear of this mcalisters. Negative stars and 2 middle fingers.

I get the harvest chicken salad sandwich … It is always very delicious. Sometimes I even get it without the croissant, not that often though. The people their are always so friendly!

My last employer would receive catered lunches from here often. For some reason, the catered food tastes better than the lunch I had at the restaurant. I do like the low calorie menu. The foods are half portions, but filling. I was able to combine any two items from the low calorie menu for a low price. Before I left, I ordered a New York cheesecake slice to go. I didn’t realize the size of the cheesecake was going to be as big as it was! Best cheesecake I had had in a while. Overall, my visit was okay.

Severely understaffed at lunch. Be sure to accommodate at least 30 minutes for your order to arrive.

I was on lunch break with a friend and close to the area. Great selection of Ice Tea. We started with the Nachos which were huge and tasted great. For my entrée I had the Southwest Chicken Griller with mashed potatoes Only $ 6.99… Yes we had to order and pay at the counter, but the food we brought to our table fast and everything tasted great.

Well folks, I had lunch at McAlister’s Deli. And, although my expectations were not very high. They were lowered a bit more by the quality of the food. I ordered the Veggie club, sounded like an easy, simple dish to try. I ordered the side of Mac and Chees, also, standard fare. Well, my sandwich arrived, and where do I begin? Rubbery vegetables, tasted like they had been borrowed from The salad bar of a neighboring Chinese buffet that was getting ready to close. My bread, although toasted was cold and equally rubbery. My Mac and Cheese, well. left much to be desired in the lack of taste department. My Sweet Tea, was probably the high point of my visit. In my 10 gallon cup, it tasted palatable. Not good mind you, as it tasted a little watered down, but palatable. I would NOT frequent this establishment unless you are in a pretty close to starvation. And even then, the service is a little slow, so I would just advise you to pass it up entirely. Take a small drive to the Elmwood area, and go to Chipotle. Go almost anywhere else, but I would not recommend this establishment.

Everytime I come here, there is great service, great sandwiches and great iced tea. I absolutely love this place! Just wish it was closer so I could come more often

This McAlister’s is one of my favorite«fast food» type restaurants in the Metairie area. The sandwiches are fresh and generously loaded and they have an array of other foods available too, like pizza, salads, and potatoes. BOTTOMLINE: A solid pick for a quick sandwich or a fresh salad.

The food is ok, but everything is over priced for what you get. I will give a better review later.

McAlister’s is a good solid sandwich shop. It’s definitely a big step above Subway. McAlister’s has a varied selection on the menu, including soups and salads, but I always order the Reuben. It’s not a super high quality Reuben like you’d get at a real deli but it’s certainly in the right direction. It’s a step above say, Arby’s Reuben. For a side I like the macaroni. I avoid the sweet tea because of all the sugar. Overall it’s not a bad place to have a meal. It’s better than fast food, that’s for sure.

Dont waste your time or your money. I was told the roast beef was rare by the cashier and it came out so well done that the meat was crusted to half the panini. The tortilla soup is a pool of cream of cheddar soup with some floating chicken scraps.

Offers a lot of choices as far as sandwiches go.(maybe too many?) Wife had a Southwest Turkey Melt which was REALLY good but I ordered their McAlister’s Club Sandwich which was REALLY bland. The sweet tea that they’re known for… well…there’s nothing special or magical about it. It’s just sweet tea. In a blind sweet tea taste test, I wouldn’t be able to discern between a sweet tea from Wendy’s or a sweet tea from McAlister’s. Didn’t really care for the atmosphere. Too loud, too crowded, and just too much. Felt more like a cafeteria than a neighborhood restaurant.
