The good: I liked the optometrist’s somewhat gruff demeanor. Honesty is important for me, and I have few doubts about his. The staff were pleasant, even when dealing with a somewhat testy person who accompanied me. The bad though. Wow. So they got my prescription wrong in one lens, by a lot. After a few days of being uncertain if it was just me adjusting(it’s been a *long* time since I got new glasses), I brought them back and they spotted the problem. A couple days later the new lens was in … and also wrong. I’m a fairly patient person, and mistakes happen. But then the THIRD one was wrong. Fourth try got it right. Fourth. This went beyond a comedy of errors into incompetency. Friendly service just isn’t enough to outweigh such poor work.

This is the worst place I have gone for an eye exam. The man who did my exam, I am fairly certain, can no longer see as well as he once may have. He is also very grumpy. I got my exam, barely had a change in my prescription, got my glasses and could not see any better than I did before(blurry). I went back for a follow up and was told, by the same man, that it was all in my head… really??? I think I know if I can or cannot read the eye chart, sir. I had to MAKEHIMBUMPUPMYPRESCRIPTION(TO A NUMBER I TOLDHIM) to be able to see. So, if you want a guessed prescription, by all means go here…

Bought glasses here about 2 years ago. I believe I was given an incorrect prescription after doing an eye exam, and when I got my glasses, everything looked funny when I turned my head side to side. I took them back about a week later(figured my eyes would have adjusted by then, but it was still bothering and distorting my vision). I spoke to the doctor and he said it had to have been the people who put my glasses together. They took them and did whatever they did and gave them back to me. They were a little better, but I still have distorted vision near the sides and was sick of dealing with these people. After less than half a year, the screw holding the right side of my frames kept coming undone and I had to tighten it once every two weeks. Finally the screw popped out after me not having tightened it after a few weeks. I also have spots on my lenses that another user mentioned. I have several spots on my glasses and have NEVER used hairspray, and haven’t been in a hair salon in 2 years, so the spots couldn’t be from that. Like the other user said, it looks as if there was some coating on the lens that is now fading away in certain areas. I don’t think the eye exam was done properly, I felt very rushed and the doctor sighed, exasperated when I couldn’t make up my mind between which was better, 1 or 2. I don’t think the technicians are knowledgeable, nor is customer service(I experienced Mary M’s review fist hand as I was with her at the time).

Less than 2 years after purchasing replacement lenses for my frames here, I can barely see through them as they are covered in strange spots that no eyeglass cleaner can remove. It actually looks as if there is a coating over the lenses that is wearing off in small areas. When I took my glasses back to Eyemasters, the clerk glanced at the lenses for approximately 3 seconds, then told me that the glasses were permanently damaged from hairspray. I told her I haven’t used hairspray since 1989 during an unfortunate spiral perm incident. She then repeated that Eyemasters can’t fix lenses damaged from hairspray. I then repeated my lack of recent hairspray experience. She finally asked if I visited hair salons. I told her yes, once every 2 months. That, she triumphantly responded, is where the hairspray damage must have come from. You’re supposed to put your glasses away in a case when visiting hair salons to protect them from damage, apparently. Which is weird, since many of the stylists at my salon actually wear their glasses on their faces and don’t seem to have any problems with damaged lenses. Since previous lenses purchased elsewhere somehow survived my salon visits(and even that embarrassing big hair decade) without a single spot, I can only conclude that Eyemasters offers subpar, poorly designed lenses. Buyer beware.

I’ve been going here for years, for contact lenses. Yes, nothing exciting per se, but it’s substantially cheaper than upstairs at LensCrafters, appointments are easy, and I’ve never had an issue.

Fairly priced, quick service. Nothing special, but solid experience for a reasonably priced optometrist.

I would not recommend going here. Getting an appointment is extremely easy. They also take walk-ins. However, I recently went for a contact lens examination and was given trial contacts that were«about the same price» as my old lenses. I went on a Saturday and was told to call in a few days to let them know whether I liked the new lenses. I called back on Monday and was put on hold twice and talked to three people before I was told that the doctor was not in and I would have to call back on Wednesday. When I called on Wednesday half an hour before closing I was told the doctor had already left and they would call me on Thursday. When they called Thursday, the lady gave me the price for a completely different brand of contacts than the ones I was given to try. When I asked what the trial lens price was, I was put on hold, spoke to another person, and was put on hold AGAIN for so long that I just hung up. When I finally talked to someone who had the price for the trial lenses, I was told a price that was a lot more than expected and ended up ordering my old contacts. The people here are very uninformed about their products, are fans of putting people on hold for long periods of time, and the doctor seems to be out of the office more than he is in. Oh, and this Eyemasters is NOT inside Lakeside mall.

I don’t recall there being an eyemaster’s in the mall, and this one certainly isn’t. It’s a few blocks from the mall, near west esplanade. They have eye exams and sell glasses. Decent prices, but the works seem kind of bleh, and they broke my glasses when I went in to have them straightened.

This eyemasters is in Lakeside Mall. If you feel like doing that and have to go to eyemasters, it ok. I don;t recommend it because a) its in a mall, and b) it’s eyemasters.
