The Nail Spot

Just a heads up to previous customers like myself. This business is now under **new ownership**. JD is no longer there and the place is being redecorated. I went in for a mani (gel)-pedi (regular) and was a bit surprised at the changes, except the name of the shop.
Pros:
Very nice and friendly staff.
Place was very clean
Same day appointment was available and once I was there I had no wait.
Still has Tv’s to watch movies while you are being worked on (always liked that)
My pedicure was very nice and has lasted (so far)
Color selection was pretty good still!
Cons:
My gel manicure was fairly rushed. I was not asked what shape I prefer and ended up with square sharp nails (when I prefer rounded) that were actually fairly uneven. I know I have shorter nails but I manage to get them more even on my own.
The gel manicure didn’t last a week! They started peeling 2 – 3 days in and by last night (day 5) I had to admit defeat and peal them all off (after several attempts of top coating the trouble spots down). A good gel would fight being peeled up so soon after application, but these pealed up like nail stickers that were barely held on. I’m not sure if it was the brand of the gel or the fact that they hardly scored the surface of my nail for good attachment.
Upon peeling the remaining gel off my nails I was rather shocked to find many of my cuticles had not been pushed back very well at all and were under the polish itself (which I’m sure doesn’t help adhesion).
Ultimately I wish these people well on their business and I hope my experience is few and far between, but I don’t plan on coming back.

Well, Jade is the absolute best… it took me 15 years of getting my nails done to find «the one» but Jade is it. Perfectly how I want my nails, time and time again!
She’s excellent at what she does and is such a sweetheart.
The salon is extremely clean, modern, and fairly priced!

We called to make appointments and they honored them. Usually nail salons just say «Yes. Yes. Come in» and you are stuck waiting for 45 mins.
The gals did a fabulous job on our feet. Love the different options they provide in the different types of pedicures.
It environment was laid back, everyone giggle and chit chatted about the movie playing. Definitely a different type of nail salon experience along with the mimosas provided. We will be back!

Lucky to find this mail salon. Just arrived from Portland and needed a pedicure. JD did an excellent job. He removed calluses I didn’t know I had. Very friendly and reasonably priced. Without a doubt the best pedicure I have ever had.

The Nail Spot is the only place I will go to get my nails done! JD and Kelly are so attentive and accommodating to everyone that comes in. There is never a wait time when you schedule an appointment! Most salons make you wait, but not The Nail Spot! Always on time! The environment is very calming and relaxing. There’s always a movie showing to entertain the clients. I’m entertained by the staff! JD is such a funny guy and Kelly is a sweetheart! Clean, friendly, and professional salon! Great with design requests and they have the best colors to choose from! If you haven’t visited yet, make an appointment! What are you waiting for?! You WON’T be disappointed!

Clean, organized & staff are very friendly. Kelly does amazing pedicures. Definitely recommended!

Let me start with the good. I called at 1:00 to see if I could make an appointment same day 2:30 for two gel manicures. They were able to get us in.
10% off with Unilocal check in. They honored the deal with no problems.
They got us in on time. The employees are friendly. I didn’t catch the name of the guy working on my nails but he was funny, cracking jokes the whole time. It made time fly and it was the first time I had fun at a salon.
Now for the bad. They lost a star BC he was rough with the cuticle nippers. He cut me and I bled pretty good.
Anther star lost BC he used the same nippers and clippers that he just finished using on the girl before me! Didn’t sanitize them at all. His work area had shavings all over. He should be cleaning after each client. Unhygienic.
I love the atmosphere of this place but the only way id return is if I brought my own tools.
My daughter picked out the colors she needed from the wheel and gave them to her tech. The tech grabbed the wrong bottle and started applying it. I’m glad my daughter spoke up. She took off the wrong shade and applied the one daughter asked for.
Daughter is happy with her nails.

If you want the coolest and best nails in the east valley go to jd. He will make your nails look so awesome. He can match anything on pinterest for you.

I have never been one to get my nails done regularly but ever since getting full sets from JD, I’ve been coming every few weeks for months because I am so obsessed with how my nails look! I am a fan of natural looking acrylics and he can do them wonderfully. He also has a talent for nail art. He uses arts and craft glitter which gives my nails a more dynamic sparkle. I enjoy his company and the movies too! I’ve gotten a pedicure too and the chairs make me feel like royalty! I will definitely keep coming!

I’ve had the pleasure of getting my nails done here twice. At the most recent visit, JD did some beautiful nail art on my nails. He has very steady hands for detail work and was very meticulous. He REALLY knows what he is doing and has a great sense of humor. I would definitely recommend this place to my mesa friends.

JD & the entire staff are great! I’ve never felt so pampered & special. This salon is leaps & bounds ahead of others in their customer treatment & give an amazing lasting customer experience! My Mother & I are regular clients. Keep up the great work. Can’t wait to visit again!

My mom and I came here in hopes of having a nice mani pedi for our trip to California the next day. We found this salon on Unilocal and decided to go because of the good reviews, cute décor, and they advertised 15 percent off on their site.
The store really is cute but very cramped. You have to step up on little stools with the help of your pedicurist to get to your pedicure chair. That was kind of awkward. My pedicure was awesome thanks to Tim! He was very nice and cordial throughout my entire experience.
What I love about tim is he didn’t rush through my pedicure and he is very meticulous about his polish painting. Unfortunately Tim was there as a temp from another salon that is under construction. So he won’t be there for long :(
My nails looked great when I left the salon but a couple days later the polish had creased and chipped off.
The manager was less than thrilled to allow us to use the coupon on the front page of his website and tried to give a lame excuse about why it couldn’t be used. We had to prove we «lived in the area» with our drivers license in order to get the discount… Whatever.
So all in all our experience was just okay. I really wanted to like this place but my nails look like crap after just 4 days which is basically a complete waste of money.

Loved this place! On the morning of NYE, and first day of our AZ vacation my Mother, MIL & I went to The Nail Spot for a Mani/​Pedi Date. We called ahead to let them know we were coming and they took care of the three of us so well. The service was exceptional — loved the salon, massage chairs, NYE movie playing, we all loved our services. Very relaxing after a long flight — awesome place to kick off our vacation. The staff is friendly, funny, personable and extra helpful. Even going so far as to provide us with some directions to the outlet shops :) The mimosa is such a nice touch! Thank you Nail Spot — we will be back again!

I came here when they were having a half off everything special. Even though I was paying half the price, they still gave me great service and spent plenty of time on me. While you are getting a pedicure, you get to sit in massage chairs and watch movies! I also had my eyebrows waxed. The lady did such a great job. I think I will return.

Love, love, love this nail salon! They have completely redesigned it and the tile work is gorgeous… I’ve never seen a salon like this. JD is awesome and super personable! I had never done an accent nail but tried it today and left with probably the cutest design ever!!!

We came here as a recommendation from a friend. We were not disappointed, JD was great, he was friendly and very funny, We even got to watch movies while we sat in the massage chairs. This place has 6 nail stations and 6 pedi stations. The prices are very reasonable too.

This is hands down (beautifully manicured hands) the nicest nail salon in town! Comfy massage chairs, ultra clean and modern and super nice staff. We came in for the special but will be back even once the 50% off special is over.
