This is an excellent local liquor store. They have a huge selection of liquor and beer and sell kegs, etc. But they also have a cellar with hundreds of bottles of wine and a wine bar and tasting events. Super friendly staff. Not the absolute cheapest in town but its very reasonable and the good atmosphere and service makes it worth shopping at.

If you’re trying to buy kegs from this business, go elsewhere! We ordered 2 kegs for a wedding — they lost the invoice because they only had the 1st name, they did not deliver until 2 hours later because they had the dates wrong. Someone had to drive there because they were not picking up their phones. They did charge the account though for over $ 300 on a timely basis! When I called to complain, Louis was defensive and accusatory. Would not let me speak to the owner, because there’s ‘nothing anyone can do.’ No apologies, basically said it was our mistake, which I know it wasn’t. Worst customer service ever! We have another event coming up and will go elsewhere, never again!

The selection here is unmatched. The employees were friendly and helpful. I did feel like some of the beers were a bit pricey but I guess it is what it is. I’ll definitely be back when I need that hard to find Belgian!

As a bottle shop, Sun Devil is great because you can mix six from literally any beer on the shelf. The number of beers they have on hand is both a blessing and a curse, because the layers of dust that cover some of them indicate they might not be as good about getting rid of old stock as they should be. Not such a big deal when talking about stouts or barleywines that are designed to be aged, anyway, but there were definitely some IPAs that were past their bottle-specified freshness dates. I left with a lot of hard-to-find beers, but it took me a while to read dates and weigh the impact of time on the beers that caught my eye.

So the liquor store itself is a bit pricey, I don’ really buy much liquor here. The beers are a good deal, and probably the best craft beer selection i have seen in a place since i moved to AZ from SD. What is REALLY cool about this place is the downstairs wine cellar, which is also actually a little bar with tasting room for awesome wines and craft beers. Tuesday is flight night where you can choose any of the 4 craft beers on tap for generous tasters and you’ll get an education on each one you order. PLEASE go check out the flight night. It’s 6−8pm and it totally rocks. 3 wines/4 craft beer for $ 7 – 8 … plus a full education from the coolest bartender is really quite worth going to the unassuming liquor store, and down the stairs,

The beer selection is unmatched in Arizona! You can find almost any beer from any country here and the sales staff is super friendly. We bought a bunch of kegs from them and they even helped us load up. I would highly recommend this place to my friends.

Great selection, nice staff. Carry a lot of goodies you’re unable to find at other places. A nifty drive thru if you’re into that kinda thing. Yet to check out the downstairs bar… The night we went apparently they only had 5 customers at 10pm and shut her down. We will try again!

This is a good place to go to find something different. They have a neat little bar down stairs.

What a fabulous little gem we stumbled upon in the basement! Looks are definitely deceiving with its bright orange paint on the outside. Through the front door and straight back to the downstairs basement where you’ll find a perfect little spot to grab a bottle or glass of your favorite wine, beer on tap or liquor of choice. Feel free to order a pizza for delivery to enjoy with your refreshment. I could get lost there with the couches and peaceful yet fun setting.

I know this place has been there forever. My 21st birthday kegs were procured at this place. However, on a recent visit I was a little disappointed. I parked the sketchy parking lot, walked into the place to be greeted by a dude, that said, ‘hey dude’…okay cool. Then as I continued into the cavernous venue, the stench of old stagnant beer wafted into my nostrils with ill content. How disgusting. As I made my way around the store, I noticed that every beer bottle had dust on them… why? And what the hell is with the individual bottle sales, I understand you can create your own 6 pack… but I can do this anywhere. Also, the individual pricing convention is lame. But my experience didn’t end there… there is a creepy downstairs to this place. I found a brew I was interested in and went home, when I got home I then noticed that my beer was spoiled… rotten…with nasty floating crap in it. I am currently working with Lagunitas to rectify this situation as the bozo I spoke to at the store told me… sorry man… all sales are final. So yeah, if you want spoiled German beer from the 1930’s with labels that look like Ben Franklin printed them… this is your place. My dollars will go to support BevMo or Total Wine. 1 star for being a part of my memory 1 star for somehow surviving in that location.

Sun Devil Liquors from the outside looks like just a normal liquor store but it’s a little bit more than that. I think it’s a pretty cool spot that I am reluctant to share with ya. Sun Devil Liquor is family owned and has been around since 1981, and they stock thousands of beers, wines and liquor, no joke! Wine, beer from all over the world and even from local wineries and breweries too! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, but there is more to this than just being a liquor store. I even found a Sriracha Beer, which I’m going to have to come back for. If you walk to the back of the store and follow the stairs down it will lead you to a Wine Cellar and Pub, yes the bar table is small, maybe 6 people can sit there, but there is plenty of seating all around the cellar, from tables to chairs, to comfy looking sofas and chairs. Went there on a Friday night little before 6pm, which was during happy hour, had a glass of Mulderbosch Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé for $ 5, which was great! They also have great happy hour specials on other drinks as well. I am glad I have stumbled upon Sun Devil and look forward to coming back!

This place is… odd. As you walk in, you may feel like you’ve gone to the wrong place, as it looks like your typical liquor store, but they have a very small bar in the basement. I came here with a friend and sat with a couple other people at the tiny bar. The bar tender was friendly and helpful, offering samples of beers and conversing about restaurants with me at length. They have a nice variety of beers that change from time to time and they also have wine. It doesn’t have your typical bar atmosphere… it’s very quiet and intimate, but it’s a nice place to go try some new beers.

What a pleasant surprise! I had heard about a liquor store with a basement bar a few years ago, but I forgot about it. My hubby brought it up the other day, so we decided we’d pay Sun Devil a visit. The selection of beer is fantastic! We just returned from a trip to Amsterdam, so we were on a huge Belgian beer kick. We were able to find a few beers from De Haalve Man in Brugges, Belgium which was awesome because we had just toured that brewery the week before. The tap list in the basement bar is also fantastic. The bartender let us try whatever we wanted. I would love to come back for a wind tasting because their wine tasting room is so cute.

The prices here are really hit or miss, but they have a decent selection. I don’t mind paying a little more to support a local place, but some of the prices are really high, and others are quite a bit lower than other places. Its strange and inconsistent. The cellar/pub they have is never open it seems. None of the hours they have listed for it are accurate,(and both the front door and their website say different things.) We have tried to go twice and they haven’t been open either time. So according to their employees it is not open Sunday or Monday, and it doesn’t open until 5PM other days.(Again– way different than what they have advertised.) The employees know that the hours are listed wrong. Seriously? Its not that much work to update it on your website, or put new stickers/new sign on the front door. Really annoying. Also when you walk in, be prepared for the front right area of the store(opposite the cash wrap) to reek of weed like the employees are getting high during work. Its a little off-putting, but the rest of the store isn’t bad.

What a pleasant surprise… a place in a not-so-great area of Mesa that looks like a hole-in-the-wall liquor store at first glance with a great selection of alcohol and a really cool little wine cellar and craft beer bar in the basement. I came here for a special event recently… as part of the Arizona rollout of craft beers from Ninkasi Brewing Company and when I pulled up I wasn’t sure what to expect. However, when I walked in, they directed me downstairs and when I went down I found an amazing little underground bar and lounge. The bar is small, with seats for about 6 people, but the room is huge and full of different wines and beers. However, when you walk back further, you find two other rooms with comfortable chairs and couches. Somebody said that it looked like a place where you would find belly dancers and I had to agree, what with the red couches and drapes hanging from the ceilings. Having worked in Mesa for several years some time ago, I think its fair to say that there aren’t a lot of places with«character» to get a drink in that city, so I was happy to find that Sun Devil Liquors is there to fill the void. I’m just bummed that I didn’t know about it when I was still working in that part of the Valley.

My pops is a Corona fan, and unfortunately the limes we purchased were old and sour. just like my old man. KIDDING! It actually ruined the taste of the Corona, and as I find Corona barely tolerable as it is. this verified I won’t be having another one anytime soon. We’d seen Sun Devil Liquors previously while driving to our hotel and decided to give it a go. Walking in we knew. this was the spot for some brewskies, I tell ya! From IPA’s to Creams to Browns to White’s. Canadian, Japanese, German and so on. I could easily get lost here. Just about ANY beer you could think of is on premise, shelved or in a refrigerator. Oh wait. they didn’t have Labatt’s Blue or Molson’s. My dad wanted Labatt’s blue and oddly enough it wasn’t in stock nor was Molson’s. They offered to order the beer for us but because we were only there for a few days it was really pointless, however, it showed they wanted to help a customer out. Thanks. What struck me by surprise was their basement pub /cellar. Wine lined walls and a neat little bar surrounded by stools and a few two tops, dim lights and a friendly bartender made this underground haven a nice little spot to tuck away for a few and a have a cold one with my ol’ man. They have a small selection on tap varying by season along with a plethora of choices of wine by glass. You can also bring down a refrigerated beer if the selection downstairs isn’t to your liking! A truly knowledgeable staff, great selections across the board and fair prices. Add in a basement pub and you have a winner. Kind of wish I knew of low key spot like this within the Los Angeles area!
