Recently my husband visited Dr. Steven A. Marks because he’s been having difficulty breathing; my husband was a new patient. He was on time but had to wait an hour and a half to be seen. In his new patient paperwork he made it abundantly clear that he had 1 allergy; a common allergen that’s often found in medicines. When Dr. Marks met with my husband he did not review the chart, clearly, as he proceeded to tell my husband that he needed a chest x-ray although one had already been done he then admitted he didn’t notice that in the chart until it was pointed out to him. Then he handed my husband an inhaler which my husband asked to know what the active/inactive ingredients were. Dr. Marks said there was nothing to worry about and sure enough there was the common allergen(the 1 thing that could make his breathing worse) in the inhaler. My husband felt worse, understandably, and asked for Benadryl. They do not have any. When it came time to leave, and we had to in a hurry in order to get some Benadryl, we were not paying for this office visit. Nonetheless, the women at the front desk tried to schedule my husband for three(3!) separate appointments. Do NOT visit Dr. Marks. He does not read his charts, treats patients poorly and the front desk is clearly only interested in trying to make as much as they can from your insurance.
