This location in Bala Cynwyd is CLOSED! I am so depressed. These guys definitely had the best coffee in the area. Anyone who would like to try the best cappuccino in America should go visit their center city location.

Town Hall brought a city-style coffee shop to the suburbs. It’s too bad they seem to have closed down the Main Line branch. The area is much worse off — too bad most residents seem to prefer McStarbucks.

They are CLOSED! Handwritten sign in the window says ‘coming soon’ but the neighbors say they’ve gone out of business.

Nice coffee sop with very good pour overs. We also tried a campfire cortado — a unique and tasty espresso drink. Nice place to hang out.

On Sunday afternoon I ordered a cup of Town Hall’s Peruvian coffee. The beans were ground fresh and slow drip brewed right in front of me. The result? A rich smooth taste unlike that of any other cup of coffee ever I’ve had. Looking forward to my next visit.

No soy milk and strict ordering procedures– I was given a stank eye from the barista for paying before I ordered. Too much to handle on a Saturday morning. I try to support small business like this but next time I’m just going to Starbucks.

For the lover of coffee… especially the brew to serve type, this is the joint. They do an individual pour over for each cup they make. The coffee was stupendous and the quiche that I got(the carmelized leek) as also fantastic. Cool vibe in the joint with a separate room for parents with kids(keeping it quiet for those not wanting the noise).

Quite frankly, I believe this is the best coffee-shop-for-coffee-lovers outside of the city. And, if placed anywhere in the city limits, it would definitely be one of the best. Excellent, knowledgable baristas and consistently perfect hand pours of some of the highest quality coffee ANYWHERE. When in Lower Merion and in need of some bean-induced energy, this is where I go. Affordable prices, too: hand-pours are about a buck cheaper than they are in town.

I’m always in search of a coffee shop to stop my procrastination and put me in study-mode. This coffee shop is it! The coffee is great– hand-poured which is quite unique in itself and friendly staff. The baked goods look fantastic– and made me nearly break my diet on several occasions while«writing my paper.» Close to my current apartment, with numerous seating areas that have wall outlets– ie no fighting with person next to you to charge up your computer, ipad, phone. Fridays & Saturdays this is place is opened ’til 9, which is later than most places in the Manayunk & Roxborough area– implying that I will be frequently visiting.

I’ve owed this place a review for quite some time. This coffee shop tucked among the mundane mainline stands out with great coffee and friendly, helpful service. Historically, I have found coffee intimidating and I resigned myself to the standard brew of wherever I ended up. However, as I came to appreciate the complexity of wine I decided to jump into coffee. This place is great for stopping by twice a week and getting some good hand poured coffee from around the world. The staff are real friendly and love recommending a brew. There is no snooty attitude that the staff at some of these other independent coffee places. They also have some nice, fresh pastries and quiches to snack on. I have run into the owner a few times and he is great. He has a passion for what he does and that really shows. The owner even recommended some other coffee places down in DC when he heard I was moving there. Now that I have moved, this will be the only place in the suburbs I will miss.

Came here once, but will definitely stop by again. I tried the Frappé(made with real espresso, none of that slushy b.s.) and it was delicious. Also tried the Ethiopian coffee-drip, felt like breakfast and a show. I’m a cappuccino guy, but it was 90 degrees, I’ll definitely be back to provide a full review. The baristas are very knowledgeable though.

Thanks to fellow Unilocaler, Nicole L’s review, I had a much less painful«grading of papers on a Sunday» experience because it was totally offset by the amazing coffee and service at Town Hall ! WOW. The guys who work here are so knowledgeable and accessible. I had such an incredible Ethiopian coffee-pourover style — that was iced. And a great Gluten-free trail mix cookie ! The atmosphere was totally comfortable, not to mention they were playing Dr. Dog’s new CD in its entirety. This is going to become my new paper-grading hangout !

This looks like the real deal, but the espresso in the cappuccino was so bitter. Believe me, I know. This was not so great.

It’s great having a serious coffee shop in this area. I have to limit my caffeine intake which makes me very happy that they have great-quality decaf roasts. On my last visit here, one of the staff members seemed to be nurturing some hipster sullenness, but the other fellow was very upbeat and friendly. The biggest drawback here is before you get into the store – the parking lot is a little terrifying! Very narrow and cramped back there, and that’s if you even find the tiny, unmarked alley leading into it. That alley, by the way, is both the entrance and the exit, and it’s only wide enough to accommodate one car at a time. Last time I came here, I ended up being trapped inside the parking lot for ten minutes until a garbage truck was done removing the trash of all the stores that share this lot. So you’re much better off parking on the street nearby and walking to this place.

How freaking awesome is it that there is a coffee shop in the ‘burbs that does an intense pourover like it’s serious business. Not only do they carry my beloved Intelligentsia and Stumptown, they also carry a few other brands and seem to swap out on a regular basis. Plus, the guys that pour the coffee aren’t those super condescending hipster baristas you often encounter at other high-quality coffee places elsewhere. After experiencing their pourovers, coffee isn’t quite the same — how I wish they were near my job in the city so I could have this every day. Yum!

Wifi, great coffee, good music, good pastries, what more do you need for a coffee shop. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable about coffee, and helpful.

Five stars for a coffee house is the highest for me. This is the best coffee around. And the pastries are great as well. Good, free wifi is a plus and the seats are comfy. The coffee choices are first rate and the baristas know their craft — pour over. A great plus for the neighborhood. You should stop in. Also a fine flower shop next door. So get some coffee, a snack and some flowers. Also — shout out to Tim Noble, the owner, who not only really cares about serving his customers great coffee — but knows social media!

Probably 200(i don’t always check in) visits later, Town Hall is the epitome of what a coffee place should embody. Tim(owner) is someone you’d want to work for and in turn, buy coffee from. The staff here is great. Everyone brings their own unique touch to this place, making it a stand out in this area. I now work less than 5 mins away and yet if I was as far away in my first review, I’d still be making that trip as often as possible. The pastries are MUCH better and ½ the price of those down the street at The Art of Bread. Almond croissant with a tall cup of Verve is something you need to experience.

I stumbled upon this coffee shop one night freshmen year– had a great experience with me and my friends. I go here whenever I can(usually Saturday morning). The staff are truly the best and are true baristas, and the service and selection far exceed any Starbucks that I have been too. The food products are real and not processed. If you want real hand pressed coffee from almost anywhere in the world, I totally recommend this place. Be warned if you are a hard-core conservative/republican, many of it’s main customers and employees appear to be very liberal so if you go be aware because you might get into a heavily heated debate with the people inside. I wish this place had more space to sit around and relax because it can get very congested during busy coffee hours.

Free wifi, great lattes and sandwiches, comfortable indoor and outdoor seating, and a bright, spacious café. Try their french press /pour over. It’s exquisite.
