I work right next to this place, so I tried lots of different menu options. Chicken buffalo soup and grilled sandwiches are the best. I think it’s a bit pricey, but healthy and super good!))

We read the review in the Idaho Statesman and drove to Meridian to try it. Got there at 1:50, they close at 2(on a Saturday which is strange) but we were turned away! The soup might be delicious, I wish I could say, but alas I may never know. Just some friendly advice to the manager, if you close at 2, you should be prepared to serve customers until OR after 2, especially when you’ve just had an article written about you. Update– After seeing the owner/manager’s snarky response I wanted to let you know that had you apologized for the inconvenience and invited us back rather than pointed out how wrong we were and how we neglected to read the signs about your closing rules(because we all know the first thing a new customer does is read all the signs posted in a restaurant), we would have given your store another try.

The fact that you make something called Cantaloupe, Watermelon and Honeydew Soup or Watermelon Gazpacho makes me love you already… and I haven’t even tried it yet. …but am coming in tomorrow…

Delicious, fresh food. Friendly service. Looking forward to going back. We had the reuben, meatball grilled cheese, buffalo chicken soup, and an asparagus herb soup. It was all outstanding.

I found this place while driving past. The food is excellent and it is very reasonably priced. I had the meatball grill cheese and the Buffalo chicken soup. I highly recommend both.

My wife and I visited the Soup Kettle Grille this weekend and were pleasantly surprised. The place was really clean and laid out well. The staff was friendly and patient while we went over the menu. It’s not a huge menu(a plus in my book) and it has some sandwiches I’ve not seen before so that was a nice surprise. I got the meatball grilled cheese and a soda; my wife got a ½ of a chicken salad sandwich with a cup of potato leek soup. Total was just over $ 20. I have never been a soup person but this place might change my mind. The soup didn’t have the sludgy, heavy feel you get from most places and was really good. I might order soup on purpose here! The meatball grilled cheese was really good and had the crispy cheese where it oozed out — nice. The sandwich didn’t look huge but it filled me up quick. Next time I’ll probably do a half sandwich and soup. My wife’s chicken salad sandwich was good but I think she’ll try something grilled next time. Overall, great place with nice people and a good atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

I love soups and often crave them. This place offers 100 types of soups. Committed to have 4 new different ones everyday. Sounds like my kind of place. Price is high for just a soup and the bread that came with it for dipping was a bit stale. I’ll try another time and see if the dipping bread offered is fresher. If not, will lower a star. Tried leek and potato soup for about $ 6. Tasted good. They say they use fresh ingredients. Need to ask what does that mean. Hope none of it from Cisco

Clearly this place cares to do things well. Soup was delicious & I loved that on the 2 sandwiches at our table had melted cheese, they took the time to ensure both had some crispy cheese on the edges. That’s how I would do it at home & it’s the first restaurant I’ve ever been to that took the time to do so. It really makes all the difference. Soups are clearly marked as GF, dairy free and or vegetarian. The chefs even come out while you are eating to make sure you are enjoying your food. We don’t live in the area, but will be certain to stop in whenever we are in the area.

Great lunch place. We will definitely return here. The Thai Chicken Currie soup was delicious. My wife ways that the Reuben Sandwich is the best in the Boise area! My Mediterranean Sandwich was great too. Friendly service, and very nice setting. Like I said, it was a great lunch!

We stopped here on our way through Boise and couldn’t have been more pleased! Excellent service, tasty food, very quick and convenient. I rarely review, but I felt this business deserves one! The soups are incredible :)

I have eaten here a few times and oh my goodness makes me go back to when I was a kid and at my grandma’s house. Wish they were open on Sundays that way on my day off I can enjoy as a day off instead of its lunchtime meal. Soup and Sandwiches are so yummy and all the soups they have I at least want to try all of them. Try them out, what do you have to lose ??

What a pleasant surprise! I got the Gouda grilled cheese special and the buffalo chicken soup. The onions and red peppers were a fabulous touch! I’m so impressed! Yum! I’ll be back! And the people working were so courteous! Very impressed!

I had their cheeseburger soup and it was yummy! The staff was nice. I love how they let you taste the soups prior to ordering. I thought the prices were a bit high for the amount you get, but I am torn because the soups are made with quality ingredients. This is a family owned business and for that, I think I will overlook the prices(spend an extra $ or $$) because the pros outweigh the cons!

Yum! This small place has a handful of cold sandwiches and hot sandwiches. Their speciality is their soups(if you couldn’t tell from their business name lol). It’s a family business(you can tell) and take pride in their place and are super friendly. It looks like they have 5−7-ish soups on rotation at a time. They have the current soups written on butcher paper on the wall. Soup sounds boring but they have gotten creative with their recipes. They don’t focus only on the traditional soups offered in restaurants. The nice thing is they allow you a little sample of the soup before you commit to a cup/bowl. I settled on the buffalo chicken. I also tasted the cheese burger soup. As a cheese burger lover, for whatever reason this sounded gross in a soup. I tasted it, and it was actually good. They have various soups you can take home to eat later in their fridge. Since their soup isn’t massed produced, you never know what is going to be available.

Got a coupon in the mail to try this place out to figured why not. They advertise a huge soup choice and they also do cold sandwiches and grilled cheese. You walk in and they do have a huge list of soups but only some are available hot th at day others are to take home and enjoy. The have a simple selection of grilled cheeses and cold sandwiches which to me is fine I hate an over complicated menu. Me and wife both got a half sandwich and free bowl of soup with the coupon. I wanted to try there chowder but apparently they ran out during there lunch rush and it was 20 mins untill next batch would be ready which was disappointing. I got the Buffalo chicken with there gouda and Jack grilled cheese and wife got there tomato basil with there meet ball grilled cheese. All the ingredients seemed fresh and soups were very flavorfull. It was an enjoyable meal all around and filling enough even getting the half sandwich. My only real problem was the price it was 7 bucks for a half sandwich and a drink add a bowl of soup and your over 10 dollars. to me that seems like a lot for such simple food. But. i guess that’s why I am not in the biz. if you want a good bowl of soup check this place out for sure. Not sure if I will be back, for the price I think I can do better.

I was finally able to get to the Soup Kettle Grille on Wednesday, and very happily so. One, I love soup! Two, the staff was friendly and welcoming Three, they use quality ingredients Four, the food is made there Five, it was delicious! Six, the portions were generous(my half-sandwich was the largest one I’ve seen, with a generous portion of turkey) Seven, great value! Eight, so many soups! And, they let you sample them! We’ll be going back today for lunch!

Really good first lunch today… as my 8 year old said, «it’s homemade and it is really good because it’s healthy and nutritious.» We tried the chicken noodle and the asparagus leek and both were really good. Turkey sandwich was good as well. Nice to see there were a good number of people in there. One feedback is the plastic bags aren’t ideal for take out… a stronger and smaller paper bag were the soups can sit upright would be better. Will be back for sure to try the other varieties. Be good to have a daily Twitter or FB post with daily soups for that day…

I agree with one of the reviewers that the portions are a little small for the price. But I could stand to eat healthier sized portions, and it is high quality healthy food. Owners are very service focused. Soup and sandwiches are great. 6 year old son loved the gourmet grilled cheese on kids menu. Have some fun drinks and baked treats too. The smartest idea is the leftovers are frozen for purchase to take home and feed the family.

First the reason for the 3 stars. The amount of food does not match to the price. I’m giving them a little bit of benefit of the doubt since this is their grand opening. I ordered 2 cups of soup, one full sandwich, one half sandwich, and their chocolate bacon. It was $ 23 – 24 bucks!? As far as the food, the sandwich quality looked good, good flavors, but the amount of the sandwich is my problem. They use regular ciabatta bread, about 4 inches square. I will post some pictures of the sandwich. I think the price point may be a bit high for the size of the sandwich. Then the soup. I didn’t know what to expect. I had the Buffalo Chicken soup. The soup was good. Enough chicken, good broth, good spice. This soup is good. Bacon: the website shows that it’s a crispy piece of bacon skewered, dipped in milk chocolate, then drizzled in white chocolate. While it was crispy, skewered, and coated in chocolate, it was coated then with peanuts. Review: unfortunately, stay away from it. They need to use thicker bacon, cooked at lower temp for longer. And the Chocolate needs better tempering. Now this is a local store, mom and pop shop, so I don’t expect systems in place like at franchises. I will try them again in the near future and write a new review. Edit*** I previously wrote that I got a wrong order. I did. But they have fixed the issue. I went back after work and advised the problem. Without hesitation they apologized and remade the sandwich. Thank you! This is a small company that is just going to have some hurdles to pass. *here’s to your success SKG!
